School rivalries often extend further than the sports field. Students jeer and pick fights, though they congenially shake hands after the end of a game and congratulate each other. But not these two: after the other team members have driven home, the two of them remain in the locker rooms, still covered in dirt and grime from the baseball diamond. The team showers are cavernous and echoey around just the two of them with their hands running over each other’s bodies, each pulling the other closer until their skin seems to meld together under the water. “You were good out there today. Your curveball’s getting better.” Even in the large chamber, the words seems quiet as they are pressed into Yixing’s bare skin as water washes over him, cooling down the flush from his afternoon of exercise. He moans in response, arching his neck away as little cascades form on his collarbones, his calloused hands moving down Yifan’s lean stomach. “You weren’t so bad yourself out on that mound.” The teasing smile with half-lidded eyes is somewhat offset by Yixing’s deep dimples.
