He only had the audacity to grin at you when he lowered the camera, sending you a cheeky wink that had you rolling your eyes before you went back to searching for pretty shells.
āJaemin,ā you groaned when he knelt down in front of you, his face still hidden by the camera.

Before Jaemin could finally as the big question and you could finally fling yourself into his arms, a big wave crashed at the shore, the water reaching further than it previously did, soaking yours and Jaeminās pants and making you let out a shriek at how cold it suddenly was.
āOh god,ā Jaemin laughed loudly, the sound so familiar and warm to you that you couldnāt help but join him with a soft giggle.
āThis is a mess,ā he whined.
āYes, Jaemin, I will,ā you simply replied, throwing your arms around him to tackle him into the wet sand, effectively stopping him from talking by sealing his lips with a kiss.

āYou called for me, my princess?ā Your head immediately shot up from the book your teacher had left you with - a terribly boring play written by an author the old man was always praising to high heavens - when you heard the voice of one of your trustworthy guards, immediately finding the manās gentle eyes.
āI did, thank you for coming, Jaemin,ā you smiled, closing your book and waving your other guard off who had watched over you. With a firm nod to his colleague, the guard took the part that lead him back to the castle, quickly disappearing between the lush plants of the royal garden.
āMy princess,ā Jaemin smiled again, holding out one of his hands for you to take as you made to get up from your swing, āWhat grants me the pleasure of your company on a day like this?ā
āI felt like taking a ride on the lake,ā you confessed, shortly squeezing his hand before letting go. You never knew if you were truly alone, your father was always a little overprotective of you.
āWhat about your studies, my princess?ā
āStudies be damned,ā you grinned, lifting your skirt up to keep it from the muddy ground as you made your way to the small pier, Jaemin following you like a shadow, just like how he was trained to.
āLet me help you,ā he offered you his hands again, his fingers calloused from hours of practicing sword fighting and archery, helping you step into the small boat, averting his eyes like the gentleman he was as you sorted out your skirts before he sat down to pick up the paddles, steering you away from the pier and closer to the other end of the lake, near the grand walls of the castle, hidden beneath a beautiful willow.
āLetās stop here,ā you decided after a while, admiring the beautiful flowers of the lilies before you met Jaeminās eyes again who was already smiling back at you.
āYou look beautiful today, my princessā he complimented, gently caressing your cheek, a soft touch you immediately leaned into.
āThank you,ā you smiled softly, feeling your cheeks heating up.

āYouāre shameless,ā you giggled, slapping his hand away before you grabbed it between your palms again to bring it up to your lips, softly kissing his knuckles.
