“Stooop,” you whined when you heard the shutter of Jaemin’s camera go off for what must be the millionth time already, the lens pointed at you.
He only had the audacity to grin at you when he lowered the camera, sending you a cheeky wink that had you rolling your eyes before you went back to searching for pretty shells.
“Jaemin,” you groaned when he knelt down in front of you, his face still hidden by the camera.
“One smile.”
“You took a million pictures of me already.”
“And I’ll cherish every single one.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you laughed, shaking your head when you heard the shutter of his camera go off at rapid-fire speed.
“You know what?” Jaemin asked, finally putting down his camera to let it dangle around his neck instead.
“What?” you smiled, stepping closer so you could attempt to fix his windswept hair.
“I’m on my knees already for you, sooo~”
“No,” you breathed, your heartbeat suddenly loud in your ears as Jaemin rummaged through his camera bag.
“Give me a second, love,” he giggled, finally pulling out a small velvet box.
“No,” you gasped again, feeling your legs give out beneath you, your knees digging into the warm sand.
“I haven’t even asked yet, baby,” he laughed, steadying you as best as he could with one hand.
“Do it,” you hiccuped, your eyes already filling with tears.
“Okay,” he whispered, carefully opening the box to reveal a simple band with a stone right in the middle that sparkled in the light of the setting sun.
“Oh god.”
“You like it?”
“That’s not the question you’re supposed to ask,” you whined, barely holding back your urge to hit your boyfriend.
“I know, I know,” he giggled, “I’m nervous.”
“Just say it.”
“Okay,” he whispered before clearing his throat, his sparkly eyes finding yours. “I had a whole speech prepared but of course, I can’t remember any of it right now. But I just want you to know that you are the love of my life and that I would love to spend the rest of my time with you if you’d let me so…”
Before Jaemin could finally as the big question and you could finally fling yourself into his arms, a big wave crashed at the shore, the water reaching further than it previously did, soaking yours and Jaemin’s pants and making you let out a shriek at how cold it suddenly was.
“Oh god,” Jaemin laughed loudly, the sound so familiar and warm to you that you couldn’t help but join him with a soft giggle.
“This is a mess,” he whined.
“Yes, Jaemin, I will,” you simply replied, throwing your arms around him to tackle him into the wet sand, effectively stopping him from talking by sealing his lips with a kiss.

“You called for me, my princess?” Your head immediately shot up from the book your teacher had left you with - a terribly boring play written by an author the old man was always praising to high heavens - when you heard the voice of one of your trustworthy guards, immediately finding the man’s gentle eyes.
“I did, thank you for coming, Jaemin,” you smiled, closing your book and waving your other guard off who had watched over you. With a firm nod to his colleague, the guard took the part that lead him back to the castle, quickly disappearing between the lush plants of the royal garden.
“My princess,” Jaemin smiled again, holding out one of his hands for you to take as you made to get up from your swing, “What grants me the pleasure of your company on a day like this?”
“I felt like taking a ride on the lake,” you confessed, shortly squeezing his hand before letting go. You never knew if you were truly alone, your father was always a little overprotective of you.
“What about your studies, my princess?”
“Studies be damned,” you grinned, lifting your skirt up to keep it from the muddy ground as you made your way to the small pier, Jaemin following you like a shadow, just like how he was trained to.
“Let me help you,” he offered you his hands again, his fingers calloused from hours of practicing sword fighting and archery, helping you step into the small boat, averting his eyes like the gentleman he was as you sorted out your skirts before he sat down to pick up the paddles, steering you away from the pier and closer to the other end of the lake, near the grand walls of the castle, hidden beneath a beautiful willow.
“Let’s stop here,” you decided after a while, admiring the beautiful flowers of the lilies before you met Jaemin’s eyes again who was already smiling back at you.
“You look beautiful today, my princess” he complimented, gently caressing your cheek, a soft touch you immediately leaned into.
“Thank you,” you smiled softly, feeling your cheeks heating up.
“The most beautiful flower of them all.”
“You’re shameless,” you giggled, slapping his hand away before you grabbed it between your palms again to bring it up to your lips, softly kissing his knuckles.
“I cannot help myself when I am finally alone with the one I love the most.”
“Let’s make the most of our time, shall we?” You whispered, leaning in closer to Jaemin, craving the touch of your lover.
So, in Tolkein lore, the world was originally flat, with most of the land in the middle (hence Middle Earth). But the Numenorians (men who were rewarded with their own Atlantis-equivalent island for service in the first big war against Melkor, but eventually Power Corrupts etc) tried to invade the uttermost west which was basically Elf Heaven. To put an end to that sort of thing, the creator of the world Bent The World and made it a sphere…but left elves able to treat it like a flat disk. So elves can sail west and reach Elf Heaven, but a man or dwarf or hobbit who sails west will eventually wrap around to the east coast of Middle Earth.
