"So... How would you feel if I stayed here tonight? Nothing funny; we stay in separate rooms. But that way, I can see that you go to bed." She was pushing her luck and she knew it, but there was just too much temptation to call his bluff.
She hasn't picked her plate back up yet, still just enjoying her wine. He seemed a little to eager to get her distracted with the meal again.
@evil-rick-e-626:
E wasn't talking too loud, since he was almost directly at her ear. "That's a really good choice. Can't say my nose is displeased." He removes his hands and steps away. "You can search through the house now......did I need to follow?" The question almost seems irritating since E was all about wanting know everything, but to him there was nothing that he needed to be aware of. Only he had control here.
Ricky couldn't help but laugh.
"I guess if you want to sit on your butt and finish your dinner, I don't blame you. Kind of thought part of the fun for you was watching me stumble around though."
She starts to walk off anyway, looking carefully at her surroundings in case she sees any signs an animal had been through here. He could decide for himself if he would follow or not.
"Is there a time limit or is this just if I give up or not?" She calls, not looking back at him.
"The time limit expires if you take too long and I no longer feel like it."
E stays seated and eats some more, but instantly will watch her from some cameras if she leaves this room.
Ricky continues to look around, eventually leaving the room she started in.
"Blake~" she calls in a warm and friendly tone, waiting to see if this stirs up any movement. "Come out now, it'll be funny if E loses so quickly..."
She has no way of knowing if the animal in question would be intelligent enough to understand her, but the words are more for teasing E anyway.
E pouted at her words.
Blake could hear her and it was funny. E had told him before though, that she'd try to call out to him and he wasn't supposed to react.
"It would be funny if I end the game early~", he mimicked her playfully.
"Meanie..." She replies in a mock-pout.
Continuing to look around, she even stoops down to look under furniture, not having any idea what size of creature she is looking for. As she moves through the rooms carefully, she stops now and then to look at objects he has around, picking stuff and inspecting it before putting it back where she found it.
She has always been straightforward about being nosy, after all.
E leaves the food on the coffee table and gets up. It was more entertaining than he thought.
"So, how does it feel to not get what you want?" E teases with a small grin.
She chuckles, looking over her shoulder at him.
"The night's still early, handsome. A small set back doesn't mean I haven't gotten what I want yet. I still have tricks up my sleeve, you'll see."
"Mmhmmm," E drags out.
"Silver lining must be your specialty. Go on then."
He decides to let her keep searching, but goes into the kitchen to tidy up a bit and to make them some coffee.
Ricky smirks as he walks away, letting him disappear out of view. She waits a little while, wandering around a bit more checking a closet and a bathroom.
Wandering back around til she's just outside of ear-shot of the kitchen where E is making coffee, Ricky lifts her hand and presses a ring on her index finger against her throat. Having just gotten a fresh sample of his voice, the ring changes her voice into an exact copy of E's when she says softly:
"Blake, you can come out - Ricky's looking tired."
Blake was following her around a bit. Hearing her talk on Rick's voice was quite confusing. He would have loved to talk back, but Rick hadn't allowed it earlier and it would give away his location above her for sure.
If he wouldn't have looked at her, he would've been fooled, despite questioning why Rick would talk so softly.
For now he keeps watching her, staying quiet and see, what she'd tey next.
In the meantime Rick finishes the coffee and get one ready for Ricky, not quite knowing how she'd like hers, or at least not remembering, so he decides to prepare a tray with milk and sugar to let her do the final touches herself.
Ricky looked around, scanning for any movement her trick might have stirred up, and was disappointed to see nothing yet again. Though, she wasn't entirely discouraged; maybe Blake wasn't close enough to hear or he would only respond to a codeword...Or maybe E was just playing a trick on her all together.
Hearing E coming out of the kitchen with a tray, Ricky makes herself look normal pretending she's just entered this room. "Oooh, a coffee break - good idea." She heads back to her spot on the couch. "I'm not giving up yet, but I'm gonna enjoy this while it's hot... Just don't make me run around too much longer if Blake is an imaginary friend of yours."
She makes her coffee sweet and milky before relaxing back in her seat with it. It was rich and delicious, she savors it slowly.
Pretending to just check her messages on her phone, Ricky instead opens an app that will allow her to scan the surrounding area for heat signatures. She looks to see if she can see anything alive besides her and E.
Ricky was so eloquent and sassy, E smirked on the inside.
"Blake is real, but if he wasn't, I'd definitely still enjoy watching you search him."
E had thought about in the beginning to cheat and let Blake stay on himself, but decided to play a bit more fair.
As they both enjoyed their coffee, Blake stayed on the edge of the room. Ricky could see Blake if she scanned upward, but one she would look, he'd try to move to another spot. At least she would see his form, which might be helpful for her.
"Bored?" E asked her.
Ricky had a scan of the whole room in seconds, wireless signals almost like sonar making it so she did not have to swing her phone around to capture images. This allowed the whole thing to go on discreetly so E wouldn't be tipped off unless he managed to see her screen.
She can see the warm shape on the ceiling... Of course - she felt so foolish for not looking up. She wants to laugh at herself, but doesn't let her expression change.
"No, not at all." She says in answer to E's question. "Just making sure I'm not missing anything important." Ricky remains nonchalant, not wanting to give Blake a reason to move while she prepares.
Without warning, Ricky points in Blake's direction, a stasis beam emitting from her finger, hoping to catch him in place.
E was mostly paying attention to his coffee. There wasn't a reason for him to invade Ricky's space.
As soon as Blake was hit with the beam he was trapped. Instincts kicking in, he liquefied to get away.
Rick didn't let him down either as well as the interior. Two guns emerged pointing at Ricky.
With a clearly angry face, E dropped his coffe, spilling it everywhere, grabbed her hand and squeezed it hurtfully tight, while recalling his weapons.
"Didn't I say not to try anything? That won't be necessary."
Ricky doesn't seem all that concerned with the guns or that she's made E angry. She even lets him continue to squeeze her hand despite the discomfort.
"Oh, don't get so wound up; I didn't hurt him, and I wouldn't." She releases the stasis beam just to prove that there was no harm done.
"Sorry I played a dirty trick, but I'll always find an easy way to win.
"You don't even know what he is," E rambles on, not letting go of her.
He looks down at the mess, not being worried too much about Blake. They must fine, since the ray didn't seem to work on them.
"You remind me of someone and I don't like it, at the same time I can appreciate your fighting spirit."
"Well, now that I've won, I think you can start explaining him to me." She hadn't gotten a very good look before he liquidized himself, so she wasn't even exactly sure what she saw. But she had captured him for just a brief moment, she considered that the win condition.
"Are you going to keep holding my hand, or do you want help cleaning this up?"
"I think you can get your precious pillow back instead."
E looks at their hands and pulls his away like he got burned.
"I get a bag for the shards."
"Come on E, you obviously wanted me to know about him, the game was your idea... Just tell me about him, introduce me so I can apologize to him properly." Ricky had all but forgotten about the pillow at this point, she was too curious.
"I got carried away, I'll admit that, but you can't really blame me for getting competitive."
