Unless I’m misremembering, the only characters it tried to introduce us to were the girls in the band at the beginning, and the Mikus from the other Sekais, all of whom she wanted help from to get her music to reach more people. Were the introductions perfect? No, but they weren’t poorly done either, and nor was the pacing. The majority of this was about a girl who wanted her music to reach more people with the help of other girls who were good at that, and the songs were well done, as was the emotion of it when it affected her that she wasn’t succeeding in what she wanted to do. Either we watched a different movie, or you have a bias problem that you don’t want to admit to. I’m going with the latter.
