❁ ❁ Try to go to the plaza, at least maybe…for her.
Music truly brought a lot of unwanted memories to her; her scars have healed at this point, but they were also still rather vulnerable. There was simply so much that felt unresolved, that any song could make her recall the worst parts of it. For someone that claimed themselves to be as hard as stone, her mind was like waves crashing constantly.
But once in a while, old habits kicked in, & without her noticing, she would hum to herself—in which would become a song itself.
Perhaps this was her way of coping it, her way of trying to understand the emotions that were left inside of her, untamed. She desperately tried to push them back all inside, swallow them whole & never think of them. & yet, here she was, being the fool she was & singing when no one was around her.
She jumped when she heard a voice come from behind, & immediately putting a halt to it, she kept her mouth shut. How long…was she there for? Did she listen to everything? Had she made herself a laughing stock? Nothing but kindness greeted her, however, leaving her even more speechless than ever. It had been so long since anyone had heard her sing, including herself. Could it be that she was putting this nicely? No…she wasn’t someone to be that way.
Eventually, she watched her approach her first, all the while frozen in her place. But the other had this talent of allowing her to loosen up a little, & allow her to feel the warmth through her bones. A feeling so familiar that it almost felt as though the pain could also melt away.
“ Not as sweet as you, mi vida, ” she answered with a soft laughter, hands kept to herself. “ It’s nothing special, though. I don’t do this…often, let alone do this in front of anyone. Pero, I’m glad that you at least enjoyed it while it lasted. ” Leaving a pause afterwards, she tried to shift the conversation into a different topic.
“ Well, I think I’m done for the day, ” she added, while tugging on her hand. “ ¿Why don’t we go home? I think I’m a little tired. ”
