It’s tough to be honest about things like this out of fear of being called weak ﹠ the like. It also doesn’t help that when he’s open like this to his fiancee, she ends up sobbing ﹠ blaming him for her sadness ﹠ his lack of preparation for her arrival. Things tend to come as expected, so he’s a bit surprised when he sees her attempt to compromise. He stifles a small smile after some time, reaching out until his hand rested atop her hair. With a ruffle, he shakes his head.
“Listen, I appreciate your efforts. If I finish early, how about we have supper together ﹠ talk by the fire? I am a very busy individual, but let us not plan on doing anything today, alright? We can talk about this later. I can try to get a full night’s rest tonight, but I’d very much like it to be the entire eight hours, Zoe.” A chuckle.
Well it was something, she’ll take it! For now. The disappointment vanishes from her face, replaced once more with an optimistic smile. “Okay fine. But if work gets too boring I’ll be around~!” she beams, saying the words in a singsong voice. She skipped away from his desk, leaving him to his paperwork as she moved away to the far side of the room, silently pacing in small circles now as she fell into deep thought.
She’ll just have to find something else to do in the meanwhile it looked like. Fortunately, the girl hardly ever ran out of ways to entertain herself, but what to do for the rest of today? Teach herself a board game? Find someone else to play with? Oh! She was pretty sure she saw some stray cats around the garden just the other day, maybe they’d still be out there? She stops pacing, the thought of playing with the adorable creatures filling her mind.
Zoe imagines the garden in her mind, jumping high into the air as a small portal opens beneath her, reaching out with her consciousness to form a gateway from here to the other place.
“GoodLuckCielSeeYouLaterByeee!!!” The words rush out of her mouth in a hurry as she swan dives into her portal, the space anomaly closing in on itself as soon as she’s through, vanishing with a small ‘pop’ and leaving behind little more than faint, quickly fading particles of shimmering stardust in her wake.
