I never thought Iâd be coming back here, or at least prepping to do so. Crazy how life works out.
Honestly, Iâm kinda peeved Twitter is starting to die out. Iâve had it for at least ten years, made lots of friends with it, and Iâd hate to see it go. This sucks.
OKAY LEGIT I REBLOGGED THIS YESTERDAY. ME AND MY PARTNER ARE IN SUCH A TIGHT SPOT FOR MONEY ATM AS WE ARE SAVING FOR A DEPOSIT ON A HOUSE. I GOT PAID DOUBLE WHAT I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET AND SO DID HE AND HONESTLY I CRIED SO MUCH TODAY IM SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED
I donât want to disappear without a forewarning.
As of July 4th 2018, the Internet as we know it might be dead for good.Â
The European Parliament is passing a new Copyright Directive.Â
Article 13 #CensorshipMachine will impose widespread censorship of all the content we share online. Art, fanfiction, parodies, remixes, mashups, memes, etc.. Anything that you do not hold the rights over will be taken down.Â
Article 13 would force all online platforms to police and prevent the uploading of copyrighted content, or make people seek the correct licenses to post that content. Internet platforms hosting large amounts of user-uploaded content must monitor user behaviour and filter their contributions to identify and prevent copyright infringement.Â
Such filters will be mandatory for platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit and Instagram, but also much smaller websites.Â

This doesnât just affect Europe. The content creators you love are going to be in hot water for sharing their art and writing with you online. Any and all content that doesnât belong to us will be filtered. Even memes are at risk, as the person who took the original photo may want to file complaints against any platform that allows it to be used without permission. But it goes even further than that.
Last Tuesday (19th June 2018) a group of more than 70 people who have played important roles in building the internet and developing it (Tim Berners-Lee, Vincent Cerf, Jimmy Wales, Mitchell BakerâŠ) into what it is today addressed an open letter to the members of the European Parliament:
âAs creators ourselves, we share the concern that there should be a fair distribution of revenues from the online use of copyright works, that benefits creators, publishers, and platforms alike.
But Article 13 is not the right way to achieve this. By requiring Internet platforms to perform automatic filtering all of the content that their users upload, Article 13 takes an unprecedented step towards the transformation of the Internet from an open platform for sharing and innovation, into a tool for the automated surveillance and control of its users. [âŠ] The damage that this may do to the free and open Internet as we know it is hard to predict, but in our opinions could be substantial.â
Here is the original Article 13. Itâs even scarier. / Link 2Â
Here is how to contact your MEPs.Â
Here is a full list of everything that will be affected.
Europe is facing a huge problem, and unlike with Net Neutrality, the world doesnât seem to care.Â
I know this isnât my usual content but THERE WILL BE NONE OF MY USUAL CONTENT IN THE FUTURE IF THIS GOES THROUGH SO PLEASE PLEASE PAY ATTENTION EVERYONE. Article 13 already made it through the first vote and now theyâre taking it to the eu parliament. Everybody make some noise so the MEPs know how to vote in our interest!!
Men are using a powerful hashtag to fight back against emotional abuse
According to NCADV, 4 in 10 people have experienced some kind of coercive control from an intimate partner. Sadly, #MaybeSheDoesntHitYou is raising much-needed awareness for a widespread problem.
I appreciate the hell out of the women reblogging this. As a survivor of such emotional abuse, I know itâs vital for men to step forward and talk about their experiences. The old âman upâ narrative needs to die.Â
Listen I know that itâs the 2018-way to immediately compare every single American government corruption to the Nazis but uh, you actually donât need to do an international comparison when trying to show the horrors of separating children from their families and putting them in âcampsâ.
Turns out America did that too:
(The above are pictures from Japanese Internment Camps in WWII, located right here in America. More info on the subject: x )
In fact, they did it more than once:
(The above are pictures of German-Americans who were also detained in American states. More info: x )
In fact, they did it a lot:
(The above are photos from the American Native-American âboarding schoolsâ which separated Native American children from their families so that they could be brainwashed into embracing the white âChristianâ American way. More info: x )
So when you see these appalling images in the news:
donât start comparing America to WWII Germany.
Start comparing America to America.
Because weâve always done this and, as long as we can get away with it, we always will.
his name is stephen mader and not only did he refuse to shoot, he actively wanted to help the man (ronald ârjâ williams) because he could tell that he was only acting out because of mental illness. rj williams was suicidal and holding an unloaded gun and, while mader didnât shoot him, a fellow officer (ryan kuzma) did and murdered him on the spot. here is the source and hereâs to hoping rj williams gets justice
âSaying the words âJust shoot meâ sent up the red flag that he was just trying to harm himself and no one else ⊠Thatâs what made me make my decision. He needed helpâ
I hate this fucking world. The guy was actually trying to do his job by actually desculating the situation the right way (desculating these days apparently just means shoot them) and was fired for âfailing to eliminate a threat.â
if youâve seen the breaking news that trump just signed an executive order today to end the family separation policy hereâs some quick info to keep things in perspective
this doesnât end the âzero toleranceâ policy of prosecuting anyone who crosses the border âillegallyâÂ
the only thing this changes is that going forward, entire families will be detained together while awaiting prosecutionÂ
this offers no solution for freeing the thousands of children currently held in ICE child prisons or any path to reuniting them with their familiesÂ
children will still be detained and treated as criminals
this will likely lead to thousands of families being held in ICE facilities and tent cities that will face the exact same issues of overcrowding, abuse, and inhumane conditions that exist in the child prisons
this is not a victory or a solution. This is the administration trying to cover their asses and avoid any more public outrage. They want people to see this as the end of the news story and go back to their lives. They want people to forget the thousands of children they are still keeping in cages in ICE facilities across the nation. This issue is not over and we cannot stop being outraged until we are given proof that the thousands of kidnapped children are returned to their families, and that the policy of arresting and prosecuting people who cross the border is ended.Â
Donât let people make fun of you for liking japanese culture.
I am living in japan right now and let me tell ya:
There are people here who canât speak or understand English who play nothing but Missy elliot and ludacris, even in businesses like housing offices and restaurants.
There are people who have cowboy hats and dead cow skulls in their home because they idolize what they assume American homes are like.
There are people who learn English strictly through music videos and American television shows.
There are entire karaoke bars with english songs often sung by people who have no idea what the lyrics mean.
Japan often takes American shows like the powerpuff girls and make japanese versions of them.
They often mistake common Americans for celebrities. I have been mistaken for Micheal jordan, tiger woods, Shaquille o'neal, Tyler perry, and saddest of all: queen latifa.
The act of sprinkling English into your japanese sentences is considered cute and cool and is popular with teenagers. Bonus points if you happen to use it correctly.
Japanese stores sell shirts with english on them and people buy them not knowing that most of those word combinations are nonsense.
Donât let someone shame you for singing an anime opening, using japanese in your sentences, wearing clothing with japanese on it, ect. If anything, this is just one more thing that you have in common with them.
Miguel Santiago is the last factor on saving net neutrality
At&t is going to pay him off to repeal it
tweet at him @miguelsantiagoAD53
call campaign office (213)538 8385
Capital office (916) 319-2953
District office (213) 620-4646
Even if youâre not californian
Tell him to advance SB 822 IN FULL and resist attempts to water it down
Or else we cannot use the internet as we do now and the big companies can control everything we see. Capitalism is destroying this and this democracy is fucked
A NAZI RALLY HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR AUGUST 11th AND 12th IN DC!
THIS IS ORGANIZED BY THE SAME SHITHEADS WHO ORGANIZED CHARLOTTESVILLE!
THEY ARE SUING CHARLOTTESVILLE (WHICH HAS FOR NOW DENIED THEIR APPLICATION) TO RALLY THERE AGAIN! IF THEY WIN THEYLL HOLD ANOTHER RALLY THERE ON AUGUST 12th!
Iâve introduced kittens to foster moms before! Some cats are so taken up with parental instinct theyâll accept a new baby instantly, but some can hiss and see the baby as an intruder that can potentially harm her kittens. When this happens, I like to to rub the new kitten with a piece of cloth that smells of the momâs kittens, ideally whatever was being used as bedding when she gave birth. They go like âOh! A baby I havenât cleaned yet? Unacceptable! Hand them overâ
If youâre European, in a couple of weeks you will be denied any and all access to fandom contents on Tumblr and everywhere else on the internet. Hereâs why.
On June, 20th the JURI of European Parliament approved of the articles 11 and 13 of the new Copyright Law. These articles are also known as the âLink Taxâ and the âCensorship Machinesâ articles.
Articles 13 in particular forces every internet platform to filter all the contents we upload online, ending once and for all the fandom culture. Which means you wonât be able to upload any type of fandom works like fan arts, fan fictions, gif sets from your favourite films and series, edits, because itâs all copyrighted material. And you wonât also be able to share, enjoy or download otherâs contents, because the use of links will be completely restricted.
But not everythingâs lost yet. Thereâs another round of voting scheduled for the early days of July.
What you can do now to save our internet, is to share these informations with all of your family members and friends, and to ask to your MEP (the members of the European Parliament from your country) to vote NO at the next round, to vote against articles 11 and 13.
Here you can find more news and all the details to contact your MEP:
