There you have it folks! We have reached the end of To Build a Programmer! I have already started working on the next fic in the series, which will work as a companion piece to Programmer, starting a little after chapter 5 of Programmer, and ending this same night! You'll get to see some new scenes, new perspectives, and a lot more Renga content that I'm very excited about!
In the meantime, there will be a bit of hiatus while I build up a backlog (and also move), but I will try not to make you guys wait too long. Thank you so much for sticking with me till the end!
Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things arenāt amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So Iād love it if we could talk about that for a minute.
If you canāt do anything else, please just read and reblog.
Even a small amount of 5 or 7 or 10 of foreign currency will help a lot. Our government has essentially abandoned us. People have turned to social media for help. WhatsApp groups and DMs on twitter/insta is where we find help. Our helpline is a Google doc. Situation is so dire that hospitals are discharging patients due to lack of oxygen. Every night the same story, oxygen running out in hospitals, citizens running around to somehow arrange for oxygen with minutes to spare. Last night, we had manged to get oxygen to a hospital with 14min to spare.

Some of you in the US have asked what else you can do. Iām not the best person to answer this since Iām not from there, but I do know that Biden is being urged to ship supplies to India. Maybe a more informed person can chime in with how best you can help but calling your representative and registering your concern sounds like a good starting point.

The realization hurts, settles deep in Reki's chest and just aches. What makes it worse is that he's sure that Langa doesn't even know what's happening. Reki had screamed at him in the pouring rain and all the other boy had done was stare back at him with that wounded expression. Langa hadn't meant to leave him behind. Langa had thought they were right beside each other the whole time. It isn't his fault what everyone else says.

oh yeah we retweeted a bunch of posts on twitter about it but PLEASE for the love of god don't watch the cro/wd/ed ro/om, it's a harmful depiction of people living with did, not to mention using the old diagnostic term (which carries more stigma) in the headlines when they easily couldn't have. if you were upset over sia's film and its harmful depiction of autistic people, PLEASE share that energy for standing up for systems/people with did & osdd-1.
ok this is blowing up but since we're on break we might as well explain WHY it's bad since i'm seeing tags where people don't know what it's about or why specifically to avoid.
the story is about billy milligan, who most notably used his diagnosis to get acquitted for rape & robbery charges. not only did this show that he has no accountability for his actions (regardless of whether he was fronting or not, an alter has committed a crime, meaning the system collectively is responsible,) but this set a precedent for other criminals later on to use did as a form of insanity plea, whether they actually had it/were diagnosed or not, to avoid consequences for their crimes.
billy milligan has already had a whole book and separate movie made about him. we just had split come out in 2017, and it's sequels which backtracked shamefully from telling a regular hollywood did story into dragging him into a superhero universe. there already isn't a lot of good media depicting systems, but it's heart wrenching seeing how the only stories people seem to want to talk about are those that reinforce old beliefs that get systems hurt or killed.
we aren't here to hurt you, no matter what the media wants you to believe. all we want is to be shown compassion and have stories of our successes be told. there's no good reason to keep releasing these harmful movies or shows, especially ones that try to humanize a rapist while still using his disorder as the main evil.
