Thanksgiving

Sparrow had gotten up early in the day to prepare. Having set the two chickens he'd plucked in a brine the night before, he pulled them onto the counter for seasoning. One was done spicier than the other, but both had a generous helping.

The potatoes had been pulled the day before, and sat washed on the counter. When the kids got up eventually, that would be their task.

Though he couldn't shape them into the traditional corkscrew shape, he was also rolling pasta. He'd been aging a cheese since last Thanksgiving, and intended to try his damndest at a mac n cheese.

Everything was coming together.
