The true deadly sins

Lust

Not a sin- feeling sexual attraction, sex with consenting partners, masturbation, consuming pornographic media, having several sexual partners, sex before mariage. IT’S A SIN WHEN- the person projects lust onto an unwilling recipient person and does not take into account their wants or consent. Rape, harassment, sexual assault, catcalling, dick pics.

Gluttony

Not a sin- food, enjoying food, cooking, eating sweets, eating meat. In the larger sense, accumulating material things you enjoy, like books or collectibles or whatever. IT’S A SIN WHEN- It deprives other people of what they need.

Envy

Not a sin: Wanting things you see other people have, like money, power, fame. IT’S A SIN WHEN: This is how you define people, and stop respecting them as humans. It’s a sin when you use them for what they have and what they can bring you.

Greed

Not a sin: Wanting financial security, working hard for the things you want. IT’S A SIN WHEN: Your own financial growth depends on keeping other people impoverished and suffering.

Pride

Not a sin: Being proud of your accomplishments, liking your looks, dressing up IT’S A SIN WHEN: It stops you from accepting your faults and seeing how you can be wrong, not admitting that you can better yourself.

Wrath

Not a sin: Righteous anger at situations, being mistreated, seeing other people suffer, at the injustice of the world. Self-defense. Revolution. IT’S A SIN WHEN: Violence towards defenceless people, hitting your partner or your kids,. Violence fuelled by intolerance and bigotry.

Sloth

Not a sin: Resting. Sleeping. Taking a day or a year off. Being unproductive. Playing videogames. IT’S A SIN WHEN: You stay inactive when action is required. When people need you and you’d rather do nothing.

What do you think about 0° placement ?

0° placements in a birth chart usually indicate the pure energy of that sign and it shows a lot of potential of integrating the energy that the sign portrays into something bigger, it's the initial stages and it needs working on, but it's very innocent and that can get you far. However, in my personal opinion, this degree does not mean that there is some energy left from the previous sign, but everyone has their own take on it. A 0° can also be somewhat of a shadow side, as it takes us a while to figure it out, so we might not be aware of what we need right away. Some examples of how this energy can play out in your chart:

Ascendant at 0° shows the fact that you might not be very aware of how you are perceived or how you perceive the world until you start opening up your eyes and realizing your true potential and then embodying that step by step.

Sun at 0° shows the fact that you might not identify 100% with your sun sign from the very beginning, as the energy is still quite new and it's likely that you will learn to embody your sun sign's energy as you evolve and how to work with it in order to showcase your potential.

Moon at 0° shows the fact that you might be really new to emotionally expressing the energy of your moon sign, this will take time and patience, but you will learn a lot about what emotional fulfillment means to you and how to reach it.

Mercury at 0° means that you will figure out your communication style as you go, you are going to need to learn how to assert yourself in a healthy way and you will be appreciated for the thorough knowledge you have on your expertise subject or for your honest opinions.

Saturn at 0° means that there is definitely a lesson to be learned from your Saturn and is a very clear one, depending on the sign and house it's in. Pisces Saturn at this degree in the 10th house can show a lesson to be learned about the way you set boundaries in career.

Uranus at 0° means that your originality is shown through the sign Uranus is in and in that house and is very straightforward, noticeable and innocent and you might need to learn how to exteriorize this authenticity.

Neptune at 0° means that your imagination has to do with the sign Neptune is in, but also a lot of your boundaries in relation to that sign can be crossed until you learn how to say no.

Pluto at 0° means that you might have specific fears or gifts related to the sign Pluto is in and it's up to you to use these fears in your advantage and not let them take ahold of you.

cancer moon and not really-I tend to have pretty strong emotions lol- but sometimes I feel like I always have to look on the bright side.

I am starting a reading group for folx of African descent called Reclamation Reads.

Reclamation Reads is a space where we can do the work of reclaiming our magical, religious, and healing knowledges. For years, I have been envisioning a space in which black folk can come together, build community, and grow in our journeys to decolonize our spiritual and healing practices. This reading group is for people of African descent who are seeking to read and discuss in (virtual) community books & articles that center African Magico-Spiritual Traditions (ie Hoodoo, Africana Traditional Religions, and healing knowledges.

Starting in December, we will come together (virtually) on the first Saturday of the month. Readings selected will be a combination of theoretical and practical and both fictional and non-fictional books/articles.

The first book we will be reading shall be announced on 10/26.
