still not over how much neon got completely dropped narratively. like they literally just took her out of the show at one point bc they didnt want to resolve her character arc. and then when she came back she just didnt get a resolution, she just gets to hang out with her stalker who wants to take her away from everything she knows. what the fuck kind of story is that

im proud of several different parts of tmc, but i never feel like i can pull them out to show off, since my pride in the project comes from how thoroughly i tie everything together. it's an exercise in context, and what that does to a narrative. so theres no way to show off a single passage without explaining thirty other things going on

dipping back into my alchemy history interest has returned my mind to the greeeds. i cannot stop thinking about how they made ankh first, but he was too close to human for the alchemists' goals, so they kept going four more times until they finally made gamel, who acts purely in pursuit of pleasure/satisfaction and indeed is made with the most physically powerful animals. and in the end, the one who [last episode spoilers] is the middle and insect one, uva. i am so fascinated by the alchemical details of the greeeds which we will never receive any additional insight on.
