You think I'm looking for strong men to move my boxes?
Then I have broken the record of burning fuckin’ water!
Well, with good practice you'll learn how to tame the water. I pride myself on my scrambled eggs.
The Heart Brings You Back // Harrison&Laurie
He was finally coming back home. The day he left, Laurie was so angry that it was almost a relief he wasn’t around. She couldn’t even remember why they fought even though it seemed to be important in the moment. All that was important now is that she and Harrison got to discuss whatever had gone wrong. She needed her husband. Probably more than he needed her but still. She loved him. When he’d told her he missed her, her heart damn near exploded from the emotions of the situation. Instead of telling him she missed him, she got defensive. What the hell was going on in her for her to do that?Â
Laurie knew the answer to that. It was the same thing that caused her not to look for her husband for six days. The same thing that let her fall asleep in their bed alone. She had to talk to Harry about it. If she didn’t, she’d forever wonder what if. She’d forever ruin her relationship with the only man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Waiting anxiously for him to show up at the house was nerve wracking. She almost left to go to Bennett’s herself but a knock at the door sent her flying from the couch to the front door.
Taking a moment to take a deep breath and make sure her hair wasn’t as erratic as the thumping of her heart, Laurie opened the door to her husband and wondered when they got to the point where they could be without one another. Be in the state of misunderstand for so long and neither one of them tried to fix it before this moment. “W-Where’s your key?” Really, Laurie? Couldn’t think of anything better than that? Pulling the door open wider, the brunette stepped out onto the porch and pulled Harrison into a hug.Â
The door swung open. He could not believe the effect this woman still had on him after all these years. He wasn't too fond of all the romantic cliches but right there and then, when his eyes met hers, he swore his heart skipped a beat. Or two. He still felt exactly the same as he did during their first kiss, the say way he felt during their wedding. She was beautiful, she was love, she was family, she was... his. Her arms around him were the most comforting embrace he could imagine. If there had been even a slight possibility he had imagined her taking him back, this was proof she wanted him here. And there was no place he'd rather be.Â
He wrapped his arms around her, closing his eyes and inhaling her scent. Her familiar perfume calming him, he was home. For that moment, it didn't matter where they were - be it the North Pole, Mars or even Egypt. She was his home and he'd always go back to her, time and time again. Truth was, he had been so absolutely busy that past week, he barely had time to breathe and when he did, he was constantly reaching for his phone, his thumb hovering over her number. Something had always distracted him. He had wanted to apologize again. Their marriage, it was not something he was ready to let go of. Not now and not... ever.
He exhaled, calm. He pulled back just enough to be able to look at her, one hand brushing a stray strand of hair out of her face. "Hon..." He trailed off, the smallest smile tugging at the corner of his lips. His love was something he could write sonnets about - if he could write sonnets that is (as of now he was reduced to poorly constructed romantic text messages on the occasion). "I don't want to fight. I don't want to wake up without you.. unless you're downstairs making coffee."Â
You think I'm looking for strong men to move my boxes?
In fact, I think I have burned water! Is that possible?
Yes, I think so.
You think I'm looking for strong men to move my boxes?
Thanks. I hope it works out well, I need money to get food because hell knows my kitchen doesn’t get used.
Not one for cooking, huh? Neither am I. I'd burn water.

In all reality, is anything stress free these days? I’ve been fine I guess. Got a job at the teen help recovery centre as a therapist, start on Tuesday.
That's true, I suppose. That certainly sounds interesting. Good luck in your new job then.Â
You think I'm looking for strong men to move my boxes?
Well, I better get one eventually. How is the job going anyway? Crap! I’ll catch her later I guess.
The job's fine. It's not stress free but that's a given. Keeps things interesting. How have you been?
