my last remaining grandparent (mom's dad) had a bad fall last week and they put him on hospice and since then he has declined sososo fast and so my mom is flying out there this weekend to be with him and i am trying to figure out if i can get time off work to go with her but there is a non zero chance (honestly pretty high chance) that he will pass before then and the flights are gonna be like $500 and i know it will be awful and heartbreaking and hard no matter what but i havent seen him in over a year maybe two years because he lives so far away and it fucking sucks that this will be how i remember him but like. idk i think a lot of it for me is less about seeing him and more about being there for my mom because fuuuuuuucking hell. anyways damn that journal factory huh?
