The Beginning of the construction period
The collection of the groups works
GROUP 1 CONCEPTUAL PROPOSAL
A refinement of another groups initial concept- leading to a redesign with pivoting timber panels allowing for the alteration of space.
EXPLORATION OF FORM
INITIAL DESIGN
Each group has the responsibility of designing and refining one cloud.
CLOUD FORM
GROUP 1
Collectively designed group layout led to the assignment of individual clouds to each group. Designing the form, following the concept as well as considering seating, height restrictions, table use, relationship to site and other cloud forms.
The third level acts as seating and the fifth as a table element. The taller side of the cloud acts as a screen, creating a sense of enclosure within the space and pod arrangement.
Week 5
Test assembly of Cloud form
a bit more development, getting very close to fabrication time
Implementing the form in the site
The addition of human scale
Considering the possibility of the form.
A mock experiment with lighting and it’s possibility.
Design development of Group 1′s initial concepts
Submission 2 - Brainstorming ideas for conceptual ideas.

Pavilion X begins here...
We are Dennis Formiatti, Asha Tsimeris, Lester Yao and Patrick Stein. We are leading the designing and building of Pavilion X for Garema Place. This is our blog to share it’s story.
Dennis is an experienced and award winning architect and builder, and Asha, Lester and Patrick are young designers who are University of Canberra graduates. We are passionate about learning by making and our city.
Pavilion X will be designed and built by University of Canberra design and architecture students in the unit 6932 Special Study in Design and Architecture, with input from other relevant consultants.
Pavilion X and it’s associated program of events is a partnership between the University of Canberra, the Australian Institute of Architects, the ACT Government, Canberra CBD Limited and potentially other community organisations.
