There's a reason why jedi forbid relationships or at least romantic relationships

Marriage is a big commitment for a person and you have to invest your entire life into that marriage but sometimes the marriage doesn't work out when someone begun to have work interfere in their life

And being an jedi is a pretty big commitment as well

You're basically the in universe version of the UN Peacekeepers with space wizard powers and a direct connection to God

Having a family might influence the jedi's judgement on delicate matters such as the Naboo Crisis

And it might complicate the issue if there's a jedi family involved

Unless you want biased judges ruling in favor of Jedi families over non jedi families which is a problem others are happy to tell you all about with a knowledge of how bad that can be when applied to powerful families with lots of money in real life

I dont see why the jedi keeping the no attachment rule is a problem

I want to point out why mace couldn't arrest Palpatine besides the obvious "he has the republic he's too dangerous" etc

the republic saw jedi as the senate's lapdog ,as logic follows, anyone with a good reputation won't last very long against a stacked corrupt senate, especially since they will be seen as complict in the republic corruption, the greatest politicians with a clean sheet wouldn't save them anyone in universe would think that the senators were there to help jedi to take their beloved channellor it was career ending

How do you think it will go down if padme revealed to have a personal interest in the jedi because anakin is the father of the baby

Not very well especially in light of the "Jedi coup"

The sith was a faded memory from the start of the Ruusan Reformation

Sure Palpatine will save anakin and keep padme alive as a way to taunt him

But it was going to be a close thing not only would the public turn on anakin because he is the final nail in the coffin, He had shown the republic that jedi will not favor oaths or a hierachy

Think about it no one is going to trust anakin because not only did he broke his oath to the jedi but he's part of the very group people perceived as to be at the side of rich and powerful that attempted a coup

Even if he sided with Palpatine the fact he did go against the very tenets of taking no sides of his order broke any illusion that the jedi will not take sides

.even worse padme can get caught in a scandal and early labor

Considering these facts, he's very lucky he come back as Vader

Luke and Leia wouldn't have a snowballs chance of a good life if he came back as dark side anakin

Even if both done so much for the galaxy just one word of Vader being their father especially anakin Skywalker being vader

It was enough to kill both their reputations

Because who wants to be with the children of the Empire's second command who had a say in the empire's terrifying policies and draconian treatment of the galaxy

Ok real talk

Everytime, the jedi thought they solved anything dark side they forgot the problem then a new problem pops up in the form of that exact problem reminding them they were there by doing the exact pattern of the old problem

The sad part was the jedi's borderline assumption "ignorance and arrogance" about holding a monopoly on the force wasn't just merely justified it was proven time and time again as sith new and old began destroying planets,people, cultures over and over again that the jedi stopped thinking they were more than two dimensional villains

There's so much "the sith were getting justice for their suffering" that i can't stomach

These people did not limit themselves in getting the ones they thought wronged them they erased entire planets just because they got expelled

I got treated worse than that in the school system here

Here's the thing I don't get about people's problems about jedi not finding out Palpatine is a sith lord

Do you know how hard it is to find two people in a room full of greedy people in a galaxy where the common man/woman can turn evil just from their supernatural connection to life and their emotions alone not to mention the various crime groups that dotted the large universe?

No you don't? Then how about a city, are you saying you could do better than a space cult of wizards or the cia/fbi at finding people

Don't do " well if I have their resources/power" at me

If normal people have a hard time tracking a terrorist cell why should the space wizards who live in a galaxy of conflicting emotions that are already messed up to begin with have any better chance at finding people who acted like normal people do when corrupted and to the extreme?

It's like fucking saying " yo guys there's a corrupt politician" or " there's a rogue agent dealing in drugs"

Both intelligence community and fictional community going to be like "which one?" Without knowing what specific thing or person you are referring to

Also, how do the Jedi know there’s a Sith in the Senate? Because Dooku told them. Dooku, a Sith himself and the leader of the other side of the war. How do they know he wasn’t lying to send them on a paranoia-filled wild goose chase?

And you forget he is backed by the most corrupt megacorps and one of them caused a galactic event equivalent of an UN problem

The main reason that sith failed and went into hiding wasn't jedi invasions though it played a major part, no it was their inability to look outward instead of inward

Their main goal was searching for power every single part of it , including wrecking the cycle of life

Sure there were sith that looked outward but that's it

Every bit was focused on attaining power not stability

They only forced to hide multiple times because of the fact they leaned on too much on military power and control it ended them being weaker and weaker

No matter how much you deny it a kingdom isn't based on military control though it helps

It is based on the serfdom being happy, one of the nobles having a in with the king and an bunch of alliances you can count on if your allies aren't being threatened

It's probably why I fail at crusading kings so often

Anyways the point is the sith suck at empire building so much the only real use for them is war and the position of spymasters

Other than that they fucking suck

It's a miracle they didn't go extinct sooner with how the original race got replaced by humans
