『✦』 Another restless night. Malachi laid in his bed, staring up at the ceiling as his mind buzzed for seemingly no reason. Levin’s snoring faded into the background as he got lost in his thoughts. He debated getting up and taking a walk. It’s not like he was getting to sleep any faster by laying there. He sighed quietly, sitting up and slipping out of his bed. He was careful to not disturb his brothers sleep, and silently made his way downstairs.
After quickly getting himself dressed, he headed outside. The settlement was dead quiet, nobody else awake. He was a little relieved, even though he appeared… presentable, he still looked extremely tired. He didn’t really want anyone to see him like this. He walked along the path, his feet dragging over the gravel as he observed his surroundings. He loved this place. He really didn’t get enough time to himself to admire it.
Spotting someone, he came to a sudden stop. Maybe this meant it was time to turn back. He squinted at the figure beneath the tree, attempting to make them out. “Oh.” It was just Yip, a little relieved that it was someone he was more familiar with. The werewolf always made him feel awkward for a reason he was too embarrassed to ever admit, but he tried to put it aside right now. He approached the other man. “Hi Yip.” He greeted him, smiling awkwardly as he peered down at him.
!!! ✦
The young werewolf snapped out of his endless trance he had fallen into while looking at the bright stars. Shaking his head, his armor made a small chiming noise as he shifted his head up at the figure. A few mere seconds of silence clung onto the air between them before Yip noticed he had stared for a little too long. “O-Oh Malachi, hey” The corners of his mouth turned up pleasantly into a soft smile, only lighten up by the rays of dim light the night sky laid onto the ground just through the trees leaves. His eyes fluttered a few times as he blinked. It was typical of Malachi to be up late, having a lot of work to do, but it still dug concern into his mind, He worried for him a lot, for a reason he didn't really comprehend at the time. “It’s really late…something keeping you awake?” His gaze softened as those words escaped his lips. Yip tucked his knees closer to himself, he laid his forearms on his knees keeping his eyes on the other male.
『✦』 Malachi felt that weird feeling in his stomach he got whenever he was around Yip, and he really tried to ignore it. He took a brief moment to admire his smile, before sitting down next to him, criss-cross. He didn’t really notice the slight chill until then, a light shiver running down his spine. The scarf only did so much to protect from the night, and it was only getting colder from now on. But as cheesy as it was, he found that Yip’s presence warmed him.
“Huh? Oh.” Another slight smile graced his face, but he pulled his scarf up. “No, I’m fine. I was just...” He didn’t really want to alarm Yip with his lack of sleep. “Working late, as always.” He supposed that it could be a valid reason, he had only finished working about an hour ago. As much as he takes pride in doing his part for the small village, work just never seemed to stop. The amount was honestly on him for not working at reasonable times, but his point still stands.
“You’re up on... patrol, right?” He asked, tilting his head.
