laikas comet "someone else" theory
this has been a result on the laikas comet quiz and i think we know who it is already, as well as the origins of this character and what their future arc may look like
the culprit: the figure who appears in this page
they look like mars, sans the coloration and clothes, and the star piece on their tail is more a focal point of their design/very obvious. this leads me to believe this character is the star piece attached to mars
weve seen that the little pocket dimensions star shards can make can be very personal. mars had their abusive parents and a colorful world where they were largely alone. the magic of the star piece, then, was drawing on mars's memories and emotions to try and reconstruct their life
the star piece attempts to directly speak to mars again in the latest pages. we know this is the star piece because, notably, it adds the omitted star piece to mars drawing once they begin to speak to mars
before/after:
the star piece is very antagonist toward mars and berates them. i dont think this comes from nowhere, though, in fact it seems extremely personal. the star piece knows mars guilt and fears of this life not lasting, and seems to believe this good will wont stay forever
i dont think this is just some rando tormenting a ten year old. i think the star piece is part of mars, and representing the angry, scared, sad part of them that believes, 1: theyre to blame for everything and 2: this wont last. this piece of mars simply thinks theyre stating a fact that will prevent them (mars and someone else) from getting hurt again
my evidence for them being part of mars is largely in them, yknow, looking exactly like mars, but i have more evidence. in the qwerty finger comic. see, theres two sections where i believe this "someone else" appears. here:
notice how mars suddenly isnt wearing clothes. the second section is much more upfront about it, as this someone else is literally looking at mars sleeping--in envy? but either way, i dont think these panels are metaphorical, like an outside looking in view. based on everything else, i think theyre very literal. based on their result in the quiz, this "someone else" is a part of mars thats never quite receiving. thats looking on in jealousy as mars is given love and happiness. that feels like they could never change and that this situation could never last. this is mars's anger and fear and trauma personified through the magic of the star piece, into another person entirely
