A surprise encounter in Alola led to Thimble's capture. Merle stumbled across the little Mimikyu when she was trying to find materials to fix her disguise, a task Merle offered to assist her with after catching her. She took a liking to Merle's sewing tools, hence her nickname.
Thimble is small, sweet, and extremely wary of strangers. She imprinted on Merle and still views them as her main 'safe place'; rather than staying in her ball or wandering along beside Merle, she prefers to nestle herself inside their coat or bag (or be carried by Merle's Gardevoir if he's also out of his ball).
Trainer and pokemon have bonded over a mutual love of sewing. If Merle is mending something or working on a new piece, Thimble is never far, whether it be observing or making another disguise for herself. She has taken to using some of the off-cuts from Merle's fabrics for her disguise, leading to a bit of a patchwork look that she is both fond and proud of.
If she's curious about an unfamiliar pokemon, she has a habit of slowly creeping up on them and eventually poking them to get their attention, only to rush back to Merle and wait to see the pokemon's reaction.
The most likely of Merle's team to get into mischief, but it's usually harmless and in pursuit of something shiny. Glimmer 'borrows' Merle's bracelets and necklaces to adorn himself with and enjoys jingling them at people to get their attention.

It cannot be overstated that Glimmer loves to accessorise. His appearance is extremely important to him, to the point that Merle has bought him his own case for jewellery and takes the Sableye shopping with them when he wants something new. ... which is often. (They have an agreement that for every piece Merle buys for him, he will allow Merle to donate one from his case in exchange. This doesn't stop him from borrowing his Trainer's accessories on occasion.)
He has no fear of people whatsoever. If he spies an accessory he likes, he will happily scurry over to the person wearing it and try to get their attention, solely so he can admire the piece. He has a well-trained eye for spotting fake jewels and will not accept them; in fact, he considers those to be insulting.
More people make their way over, drawn either by the crowd or the building itself; either way, Merle tucks their hands into the pockets of their long cardigan to minimise space taken up. Beside them, the Gardevoir brings a hand to his face with a light, quiet laughâno doubt amused as ever by his trainer's attempts not to look intimidating.
Both of them turn their heads when someone approaches and addresses them. The Gardevoir's body remains mostly angled away ( not impolite ; simply keeping part of his attention on his trainer ) , while Merle does turn to face the young woman.
( It isn't her height that catches their attention, but her build : strong, clearly from proper work. The scar beneath her eye is intriguing. )
â AhâNo, but it sounds as if there has been a delay. â How troublesome⊠At least they aren't in a hurry to be anywhere. â We aren't in your way, are we? â
It draws those nearby closer to it, like a pleasantly crackling fireplace⊠It leaves some enamored, others delighted, but everyone leaves having been uplifted by its momentary presence in their lives. They speak of you for days to come- of the way you've changed them⊠You can not figure out what to make of that⊠Of the fact that, even in death, others are still placated- enlightened- by your very presenceâŠ
