Local businesses (hotels, restaurants, plumbers, taxi services, etc.) depend heavily on this activity—some areas describe the bases as “the economy” itself.

Iran does not operate permanent overseas military bases in Europe.

N.A.T.O. is the other side of the United Nations, they are a police department, they cannot organize, manage, operate hundreds of missiles, aircraft, combat ships above and below the surface, thousands of troops, vehicles, operation centers all shooting and blowing up stuff at the same time that's like asking your lawn maintenance mexican to perform open heart surgery blindfolded with one hand tied behind his back.
