She fell silent when he asked if her ex went to her games, pursing her lips together. “A few of them– he just didn’t like sports which I understood. I didn’t want him to sit around bored, not knowing what was going on.” Devyn tried to defend him even though it really did disappoint her that he didn’t go to all of them, even if it was just to watch her. She would have loved to have that kind of support, instead of supporting her from his room. “People mostly just end up going to college parties but,” she chuckled, shrugging her shoulders, “the semester’s over so there aren’t very many parties. I’m sure someone around here will end up throwing one soon, though. But when it does happen, I’ll let you know. I’ll go with you to it.” She nodded her head. Devyn was surprised that these sort of things sounded fun to him, she never got that impression from him before.
“What was he into exactly?” he asked. It took him a minute to realize that he probably didn’t like talking about her ex and he was bombarding her with questions about him. “Oh uh, i’m sorry i didn’t mean to go on about your ex. I’m sure you don’t really like talking about him. We can change the subject.” He said quickly. “We just met and i’m already talking to you like we’ve known each other for a while. So sorry.” he added. “Huh, i would think that since the semester is over, people would throw more parties. Or at least that’s what happens in movies only i guess.” He shrugged. “But thank you.”
