Human or not, he doesnât allow himself to idly stand by and witness the horror of unnecessary violence and abuse. Lewis immediately slides in front of the individual who was about to have a rock thrown directly at their head, the large ghost swiping it out of mid-air and glaring at the perp.
He neednât say a word as they shrink in their own fear and scurry off to hide away once more.
â âTo think Iâd find another skeleton in this city. Brooke would be overjoyed were he here. Oh, Brooke is a living skeleton like you, heâs a dear friend of mine.â
âOh?âÂ
Not the sort of response he would expect, but anything to take his mind off the subject was nice.Â
âWell that is good to hear.â
âThere are quite a few of us around, actually.â
âAs... Chaotic as this place can be...â
âIt still feels better than home.â
well now that everyoneâs favorite swole skeleghost has returned hows about a nice lil starter ad? iâll be capping this at 4 likes for now. thanks!
âHuman holidays are so noninclusive. As someone who cannot eat nor feel love, I am offended. I think we should start an uprising. How fun would that be? We can make a new holiday. On Valentine's day. The day those not included in humans' disgusting egotistical back pat day got the upper hand and took over the holiday and possibly the city. The latter is just something I'm spitballing here. May or may not happen.â
âThatâs. . . An idea, for sure. But I propose we do something less violent.â
âLike uh, watch a movie, maybe? If you would really like to keep yourself busy.â
âThat is an upside, indeed.â
âEspecially when it is one of those fairly large sized heart shaped boxes. Very convenient for when you need a sweet fix.âÂ
âValentines, hm?â
âW-well, ah. . . The upside is half-priced chocolate the day after, is it not?â
takes off shirt head goes with it
â.. Who the fuck is that?âÂ
That was the only thought that  Stocking could spare the man at the moment. With all of the insanity happening around her, a stranger greeting her by name seemed like the least bizarre thing. In between people speeding by as if they were hyped up on sugar cubes or cars frozen in mid-air, Stocking wasnât sure what to make of any of it. On top of that, people were aging left and right. Some even becoming younger. Though the nearly ageless nature of demons left no visible changes on her.Â
She approached the man slowly. Mostly due to the fact that she had eyed a milkshake sitting right there. He really didnât seem like someone she knew, although his clothes were very familiar..Â
âUh.. Hey?â
âCome come, you can take a seat. Iâm not waiting for anyone in particular.â Lewis motioned to the empty seat across from him, pointing to his milkshake in a very light attempt to coax the angel into taking up his offer. He could never forget her love of sweets. Not from the last time she was here, that was certain.
âYou could have the rest of this if youâd like!â
âHow are you, by the way? You look well even among the chaos thatâs ensuing.â
âO-oh no no no, donât eat--!â And into her mouth it went, the young man wincing in the slightest as the girl munched on the chocolate covered ghost pepper.Â
â--. . . That.âÂ
@blazinginvokearc
âYou sure you would like to come along? I mean, I am not opposed to it. But I know how dangerous some of these places can be during the daytime alone. The evening is a whole different ball game.âÂ

When the door opens, sheâs greeted with plum colored hair and skin rather than bones and pink flames, and her jaw almost drops. Instead she makes a noise that borders on distressedâ how dare they do this to him when heâll die again at the end of it all?â and straightens in her chair, her grip on her pen cracking the casing slightly.Â
ââŠLew,â she works out after a moment, and then points to the chair in front of her desk with a lift of her eyebrows. âDonât be ridiculous. Sit,â she says, more of a command than she means it to be, and is able to school her face into a slight smile. âAliveâs a good look for ya, bud.âÂ
Timidity and nervousness wash over him for only a mere moment. He catches the tinge of pain in her voice; nothing severe, nor much of a huge concern. She just seemed to be coping with the minor shock in a different way. So he follows her given instructions, gently easing himself into the chair before her with a meek grin upon his face.Â
âYou really think so?âÂ
âHeh, thank you. Itâs. . . A strange feeling. A good one, of course. But still strange. I know I shouldnât get used to all of it though. Thatâll only cause more damage than good.â
Looking up at the voiceâ familiar, though the inflection seemed âoffâ somehowâ she sets down her pen and leans back in her chair. She has no meetings scheduled, and most of the employees shouldnât need her yet, but maybe she forgot somethingâŠ? Eyes lifting to look at the slightly ajar door, she only hesitates a moment before answering, leaning her cheek on her hand and calling out a somewhat bored: Â
     âYeah? Who is it?â
âItâs. . . I-Itâs Lewis! Heh, I uh. . . Yâknow.âÂ
Well, that might as swell be an invitation, shouldnât it? Oh how he hoped he wasnât being rude. With a gentle nudge does the young man poke his head through the door that had been popped open, stepping in a bit half-way as fingers gingerly clutched the door frame.
âIs this a bad time? I-I could leave, if you would like.â
It looks like she wasnât the only one affected by this in a similar manner, it really was a miracle.. to people like them this was something that could only happen in dreams.
âIsnât it such a great feeling to be alive?âÂ
âHeh. Why, it sure it!âÂ
âIâm rather glad to hear you are experiencing the same thing. At least. . . We get a second chance, yeah?â
Getting used to eating again was a bigger hassle than he thought. Never did he think he would actually despise one of his favorite sweet drinks-- a vanilla milk shake, plain and simple. But being that his tongue was sensitive during the process of regaining his living bodily functions, the most petty of situations were bound to happen.Â
So with a sigh the young man gently shoved away the drink before him, resting his elbow on the table as he lazily scanned the sidewalk from across the street. That was. . . until he saw a familiar face. One that had sparked his nerves and caused his heart to skip a beat.Â
Man. He still needs time to get used to that.
âStocking, hey!â The young man beamed with a smile, waving to try and catch her attention.
