Introducing the prologue of my Undertale AU - A MOTHERS GRIEF.

Toriel can’t take the hurt of her lost children, she’ll do anything to get them back. Even if it means turning to the royal scientist for help in doing something unethical to the stored souls. She starts this new reign of getting her children back by overthrowing Asgore and taking his place as ruler of the underground, forcing him to stay in the ruins where he has nothing and nobody. She stills needs more power to force the souls of her children to come back to her, so she “recruits” Sans for help. She forces Undyne to go out and get him which plummets her into a deep depression where she cannot leave her house, forcing Papyrus to be the new leader of the royal guard like he had always dreamed. Something isn’t right, he wants his brother back and knows they’re doing something awful to him in that lab of Alphys’s.

A few months after this happens a human falls down the mountain, immediately being taken back to the lab in Hotland when Toriel catches wind of this.

I think a lot of people forget that Horrortale Sans is actually pretty smart.

In this panel in chapter 3 it clearly shows very complex math equations in his room, PROVING that he’s much more intelligent than people portray him as. He’s one of the biggest assets to helping solve the cores crisis, it proves that he’s as smart as people like Alphys in this universe.

A lot of people make him out to be this dumb, human eating lunatic, but he’s much more complex than that. He’s very intelligent, he tries his hardest NOT to eat humans, he’s actually pretty sane compared to the rest of the monsters, he just wants to fix the problem that’s happening to his friends and the people he’s lived with all his life.
