The music blares, the crowd surges, and fireworks explode overhead like war paint in the sky, but I’m not celebrating. I’m on display.

They didn’t ask.

They just dragged me behind the taco truck.

One girl pinned my arms while another ripped off my hoodie, no warning, no “you okay?”, just cold efficiency. My jeans were yanked down next and tossed into a greasy dumpster behind the taco truck where old napkins rot.

I tried to protest once: “Hey! Stop!”, but they laughed it off like it was cute that I resisted. One slapped glitter on both cheeks hard enough to sting: "Shut up and smile."

Now here I stand, a forced sissy girl, in this ridiculous outfit made of nothing but beaded rainbow nonsense from head to toe. The skirt swishes when people bump me (on purpose?). Every jingle of those bracelets feels humiliating because everyone hears them… including me.

The girls keep circling back just to check if their work is holding up, their masterpiece: humiliated boy turned sparkly festival doll.

It's another Monday and you are still stuck in a role you didn't choose (and wearing clothes you pretty much hate). Did you know that you can begin medically transitioning without even leaving the house? Companies like FOLX and Plume enable you to set up a virtual visit or visits with nurse practitioners who will discuss every question you have and when/if you feel the time is right, they will send you meds four times a year for a fixed cost. Are you too scared to even just discuss your feelings? How much do you value your happiness and well-being as a human? You do know you only get one life here, right?
