"How do you guys keep getting out of jail? Is there some work release program I don't know about? Because seriously. How many jobs can you get when you look like a giant rhino? And they say tattoos in the workplace might cause a problem."
Needless to say, this quip was not well received by the villain, who took a swing at the small woman, Spider-Woman, in front of him. She deftly had sprung out of the way, causing him to smash his fist into a stop sign, knocking it out of the ground with his tremendous strength. Now perched against a nearby wall, she couldn't help but taunt him a little more. "You never got your driver's license did you? Red means stop. Like stop trying to hit me, you're too slow-" she barely got those words out of her mouth before having to leap out of the way again, as he had thrown the stop sign with such velocity it became lodged in the brick wall she had been sticking to just moments before. Having increased agility and an emergency spider-sense could do wonders for not getting cut in half by traffic signs travelling at high velocities.
Doing a front flip off the the wall, she launched herself into the air, shooting two streams of webbing from their spots on her wrists, hitting him right in the eyes. She often wondered why it was her “web shooters” as she called them, ended up on her wrists instead of the rear like where spider’s spinnerets were, but she only thought about it long enough to be thankful that they were not placed in that very awkward and inconvenient place. Turning her attention back to the fight at hand, the brute was flailing wildly, putting everyone, innocent bystanders and herself in danger. She had to figure out some way of stopping him, but a giant man with hide as tough as a rhino that could charge through walls, and had superhuman strength wasn’t exactly easy to put down. She wasn’t even sure her webbing could hold him, but she had to do something. She checked out her surroundings, until she came up with an idea.
“A stupid idea” she muttered out loud, before shooting two webs, each attaching to the sides of two buildings set across an alley from each other. She pulled back, keeping the webbing taut, as if she were preparing a giant slingshot. “A really stupid idea. Well, at least if it doesn’t work, it’ll be my last one.”
Rhino, finally rid of the pesky webbing that had been blinding him looked around, until he spotted his foe. With an angered huff, he made his charge, only to see, too late, that Spider-Woman had used her webbing to fling herself towards him. For someone who normally runs through walls, this wouldn’t normally be a problem, except she wasn’t aiming for his head. She was aiming for his feet. His heavier upper body only served to keep his momentum going as his footing was taken out from under him.
Bouncing off of the pavement a few times before skidding to a halt, Spider-Woman turned in time to see Rhino flailing in mid-air, before landing face first into the pavement, his head breaking through the asphalt, disappearing from sight, making him look like some giant grey ostrich with it’s head in the sand, knocked unconscious. .
“Check please?” she held up a finger before falling back onto the pavement, exhausted, grabbing just a minute of rest before she’d be swarmed, be it by onlookers or police. Her head rolled to the side, seeing a clock on the side of a nearby building. Almost 10am. She might still make that coffee shop with her friends if she hurried. It was going to be a long day. She was going to need the caffeine.
