Wally was lost in thought when he saw movement from the corner of his eye. He glanced aside and watched the guy land, his forearm resting against the top of his knee where he leaned over the parapet. His green eyes went wide once it clicked who was standing there– It was Spider-Man! At least, it looked like it… And he was in NYC where most of the Spider-Man sightings had been! He immediately moved away from the edge of the room to be standing closer, his body disappearing and then reappearing a few feet away from the other superhero.
“Hey! You’re Spider-Man! I saw you on Youtube!” He grinned without being able to help himself. Wally had worked with many heroes over the years, but he had never been around someone with flippy, web-shooting spidery powers. He was very aware that the papers and online news sites lied and exaggerated about superheroes, but he really did think that this guy was interesting. “Can I take a pic? My friends are going to be so jealous.” Without waiting for a response, a phone suddenly appeared in his hand– as if materializing out of thin air.
“Oh! I didn’t even tell you who I am. I’m the Flash. Nice to meet you.” Wally held out his free hand to try and shake the spider-guy’s. “Not sure if you’ve heard of me. Maybe. Did some commercials. Worked with the Justice League of America, won Person of the Year in Central City, saved the world a few times. You know, the usual.”
And here Peter thought he could speak quickly - it was suffice to say that he just had a harder time articulating his thoughts. This kid had no trouble at all except the speed; no wonder they called him the Flash. Peter did his best to nod and smile through the brief flurry of a greeting, grateful that his mask only showed the intensity in which his eyes watched speedster.
“Flash, hey, yeah - it’s nice to meet yo-oh? Sure, I know a thing or two about some speedsters.. Ha, ah, that sounds like an impressive resume you got there. I know a thing or two about saving the world, but.. Commercials, ehh - acting was never a strength of mine,” Peter laughed sheepishly as they shook hands. “So, uh, what brings you to my little corner of the world?”

It had been weeks since the Fantastic Four had really been involved in anything worth doing, and the longer the drought went on the more painfully bored he got. Johnny could find things to fill his days, and he always did, but he started to get antsy if he went too long without a reason to flame on. He knew that eventually there’d be something on their radar again (it wasn’t like the world stopped needed saving) but that didn’t do him any good during the days it wasn’t happening. It wasn’t a problem Spider-Man had. He’d figured that out pretty quick. When you fought street level crime on the day-to-day, there was always going to be something that popped up.
Too many dull hours prompted Johnny to reinvent himself. He’d lurked around the Baxter Building long enough, and he couldn’t entertain himself with fancy lunches or phone calls anymore. He needed get busy. While Reed, Sue, and Ben did whatever it was they’d been doing to keep themselves busy (he wasn’t going to ask because then Reed would spend three hours actually answering him), Johnny donned his suit and headed to Queens in all his fiery glory.
He saw the red and blue lights before he caught sight of what he was actually looking for, but it didn’t take too long to spot him. Johnny changed directions and cut in between two buildings just as Spider-Man was swinging his way between them.
“Need a hand, webhead? I was getting lonely.”

It was true that Peter once tested to see if he were faster than a police car. With all the traffic, it was really a no-brainer and the heights he could see at the tops of his arcs as he swung through the air - really, a no-brainer.
But on a day like today with the street they’d been given, these cruisers were practically flying and unfortunately for Peter he didn’t have the greatest night’s sleep, so he was fighting to stay at least a cruiser ahead - that is, until a certain matchstick spurned his inner need to compete, or at least, keep up in this instance. This was Peter’s turf, after all, streets that he’d know better than Johnny know the back of his own hand. It was only right that Peter pulled through. His lower back was going to pay for it later, though.
He laughed in between a breath. “Routine car jacking, Torch, no sweat,” Peter called out at the crest of a swing. “I could do with a cheerleader, though!”

Wally West was the fastest man in the world, but he couldn't outrun the scent of urine and garbage on every street corner in NYC. High up on a skyscraper he could still smell it. With a sigh, he leaned down over the parapet to look at the street below, his arms crossed over his chest and covering the silver Flash lightning symbol. He had originally visited the Big Apple to see Kyle Rayner. The Green Lantern and he had started out hating each other, but now they were best friends in and outside of the Justice League. It only took seconds for Wally to travel from one side of the country to the other, so going to hang out with Kyle was something he did regularly when they both had some downtime.
Once the visit had ended, Wally had thrown on his Flash costume so he could run around NYC fighting crime a bit. He knew it was the territory of other super heroes, but he figured while he was there he could lend a hand. Already that morning he had stopped a few robberies and assaults, and now he stood 50 stories up checking out the streets below, the people and cars looking like little ants. He couldn't help but judge the city harshly. Compared to Central City and Metropolis, NYC seemed dingy, and dirty. It did have some damn good food though, and already he was considering which pizza place he would try out next once it got closer to lunch time…

The sun was shining, the city was bustling, and overall, people seemed to be behaving. Peter’s mood was through the roof as he careened himself between the buildings, whipping close to corners and narrowly missing fire escapes. He recalled the first time he’d ever leapt off the edge of a building; how he had to hope that he’d catch himself, that he’d be okay in the end. The adrenaline went hand in hand with the fear, then, but now swinging was a breeze — his fear found other things to worry about, however.
Now, though, he didn’t have much, if any, worry. Stolen purse here, bank robbery there — wow, the day really was something else, wasn’t it? He thought as he followed his morning routine, keen on perching on one of his favorite spots to overlook the city. It was—
—oh. There was already someone there. As Peter swung in low to aim high, he took note of the red costume. Not Matt, not Stephen, not Jessica, either. His momentum careened him upwards and he released his hold on the line to free-fall before landing on an old A/C unit. Peter stood, then, silent as ever and pressed his palms to his waist. He wasn’t angry, or even remotely upset, but he certainly liked to pull people’s legs, especially someone who looked new, or at least, someone Peter doesn’t remember seeing around the maze-like neighborhoods.
“Sorry bud, it’s 10 o’clock. My turn on the depression rooftop,” Peter piped up suddenly, his smile apparent in his tone despite the mask.
