After your brother forbid you from even thinking about anything with Lando, and after you denied having a relationship with Lando. Your brother finds out in the most random way.
The fact that Florentino Perez decided to part ways with Xabi instead of taking actions to the disrespect the players were giving him is INSANE!
We are never going to get better results if the players keep being late to training, the team keeps undermining the nutrition plan, the team needs new players and they spend the signing money on other things.
We don't need a new coach, we don't need a new nutritionist. We need a team that gets to training on time. We need staff that follows the nutrition plan. We need new players in the midfield.
The Real Madrid needs a new mentality, not a new coach.
This time is one to be thankful, and I'm really thankful for you all 🥹❤️ I'm thankful for you reading my work, for your little heart on the post, for the request, for the follow or even if you just happen to look at my blog.
I know this time around it's difficult for some people, and if it's your case, I want you to know that you have me if you want to talk. Nobody should have to suffer alone. Whatever you are going through, I'm proud for you making it to 365 days of 2025.
I'm really thankful for you ❤️🫶🏻 and I hope to spend an amazing new year 2026 with all of your love and support ✨️🍾
Summary: You say a little white lie to save yourself from different situations until he needs you to return the favor.
Warnings: cursing, drinking, lying.
A/N: something small because I finally got out of my writing blockage. Sorry for keeping you all waiting, I know you wanted more from F1 and from Lando specifically, so I hope you like this 🧡
It all started when a guy approached you at the bar. He was insisting on buying you a drink and taking you to his section.
After the tenth no, you use the big guns.
"Thanks again, but my boyfriend won't like that." You smile, grabbing your drink and walking to your group of friends.
You think that's enough for him to leave you alone. Sadly, it's not. The guy keeps his eyes on you for the rest of the night.
"Ready to go?" You ask, grabbing your bag.
You walk with your girls to the entrance, opening the Uber app on your phone.
You don't pay attention to the guy approaching you again. It was his touch on your arm that made you feel his presence.
"You leaving already? I've seen you around a couple of times. Do you live here in Monaco?"
You move your arm from his hold. "I've never seen you." You ignore the question.
"I can give you guys a ride. My car is right there."
"Oh, that's nice, sure." Your friend was saying, too drunk to care.
"My boyfriend is picking us up." You interrupt your friend, dialing Lando's number.
"Hello." He says. You can hear the game sounds from his headsets.
"Hi baby, the girls and I are outside the club. Can you pick us up?"
Lando frowns, "Are you okay?" He asks confused at your words.
"No, the other club, Lilly's." You say, hoping he catches the answer to his question.
He does, taking his headsets and grabbing his sneakers. "On my way."
"Thank you." You smile, hanging up the call. "He's on his way. You can leave." You say to the guy.
"I can wait with you, just in case that 'boyfriend' decides to not show." He air quotes the word boyfriend as if he's challenging you.
You smile at him, moving closer to your friends. They are on their phones, not minding the dude.
You make a small talk with them, talking about the drinks. You check Lando's text, telling you that he was close to the club.
"It's been five minutes." The guy says, watching his watch. "My offer still stands. I can take you and your friends home, since your so-called boyfriend didn't come."
The way he is almost next to you makes you feel uneasy. You don't have to answer, the roar of the black Lamborghini Urus does it for you.
You feel like you can breathe again. You grab the arm of both your friends, walking towards the now parked car.
"Hi, baby." You say loudly to Lando as you open the backseat door and help your friends. "Told you, you should have left." You say, turning to him as you close the door for your friend.
You open the passenger door, quickly getting inside the car and giving Lando a hug, placing your head a little to the side to make it look like you are giving him a kiss.
When you turned to close it, the dude wasn't there anymore. You sigh, feeling better now that you are away from him.
"Thank you." You say to Lando, putting your seat belt on. "Sorry to bother you, but that dude was not getting a no for an answer."
"Are you okay?" He asks, looking at you.
You nod, grabbing his hand. "Yes, you saved us."
"Then it was worth leaving the game, and have Max being mad at me." He jokes, giggling.
You swore that was going to be the only time. That it was a one-time thing and that you won't need to use that again.
But then you knock on Lando's door. As soon as he opens the door, you storm inside of his apartment.
"Can I borrow a hoodie?"
"Hello, Y/n." He says in a funny tone, he's still facing the door. "Yes, come inside. Oh, me? I'm doing amazing."
When he finally closes the door and looks at you. You can't help but chuckle. "I'm sorry, how are you?"
"About to sleep, but this better be entertaining enough for me to skip my bedtime."
You blush at his comment, lifting your wrist to check the time. It was late, more than usual for a visit at your friends house.
"I'm sorry," you say, walking closer to him and giving him a hug. "But you love me, and that's what matters."
"I do." He says, tightening the hug and placing his head in the crook of your neck. "Sadly, I do."
You separate, he grabs your hand and walks with you to his room. He opens the door to his personal heaven.
"Pick one." He smiles, letting your hand go.
You go through the different fabrics and colors of hoodies he has. He was leaning against the door frame, a lip smile on his face.
"I think I'm going to take this."
You show him a radar hoodie in a cherry blossom pink. You love this hoodie on him. You bring it closer to you as you walk next to him.
"Okay," he chuckles, his hand going to a strand of hair, locking it behind your ear. "It's late for you to be out." He whispers, getting a little closer.
"Sorry, I know I'm messing with your schedule." You whisper, wrapping your arms around him.
"It's okay, better here than outside with some idiot bothering you." He says, going back to the hug.
"By the way, are you busy this weekend?" You separate enough to see his face, arms still wrapped around him.
"This weekend?" He asks, puckering his lips to the side. "Not really, I was thinking about flying to the next gp location on monday. Why?"
"Want to go to a party with me?" You ask, hoping he doesn't ask any more questions. "It's on a yacht. No paparazzi, no phones allowed."
He nods, smiling back at you. "Sounds mint." He giggles. "May I know what you need my hoodie at this time?"
"Oh, you know." You dissmisively say. "Just needed one."
"Okay, but for what?" He pressed, wanting to know the reason. "Don't be dodgy about it." He jokes.
"Itoldsomeoneyouaremyboyfriend." You say, too quickly for him to catch anything.
"You what?" He chuckles, arms falling to his sides. He is trying not to laugh. "Can you speak properly? You Muppet."
You sigh. "I told someone that I have a boyfriend, and I showed them a picture of you. You have this hoodie, so I told them I was bringing the hoodie to the club tomorrow when we met for our paddel game."
He frowns. "Again?" He asks, pretending to act mad.
"I'm sorry, but my friend was teasing me about being single, and I got mad, and I told him I had a boyfriend. Then, when he asked me who my boyfriend was, I showed him your picture without thinking twice."
He can't keep his fake mad face at you. "You are such an idiot." He laughs, going back to your embrace. "I assume that's why you want me to go with you to the party?"
The way he asks, they way his voice is low and his face is closer to yours makes your heart skip a beat.
"If you don't mind." You whisper, the tip of your finger traces the lining of his jaw. "It will help my lie."
He can't help the smile that's forming on his lips. "Oh, I don't mind at all."
The ways his face is so close to yours that you can smell his scent. That fresh scent he has. His face turns towards you, lips collapsing on your cheek.
"It's late, you should stay." He whispers, nose touching the skin of your neck.
"My driver is waiting for me." You reply, almost giving in. "Next time, maybe."
He nods, "Text me when you are home. That way, I can sleep knowing you are safe." He pulls away, intertwining your fingers and pulling you out of the room.
He walks you to the door, not closing it until the elevator doors are closed. When he walks back to his room, he thinks about the interaction between you two.
He finds funny how your mind think about him when you need to find someone to cover as your partner.
He questioned himself, would he pick you too?
Who if not you?
He shakes his head out of the idea because when is he going to use that excuse? When is he ever going to need to say your name as a coverage for him singleness?
"Lando, can you pass me the gravy?" Oliver asks. "Lando!" He says, throwing a piece of bread at his brother's face.
"What?" Lando asks, annoyed at his older brother.
"Pass the gravy." Oliver repeats, scuffing at him. "What's on your mind, mate? You've been so out of it recently."
"He's probably in love." Flo says, throwing a small piece of her bread to Lando's face.
"Love?" Oliver laughs. "He's more alone than the word itself. His hands are probably cramping from the loneliness."
Lando frowns, throwing the pieces of bread back at his siblings. "Quit it!"
"I still don't have the gravy." Olivier says, returning once again the bread projectile, landing on Lando's face. "What's up? Girlfriend problems?"
Cisca takes the turn to join the complot against Lando. "What girlfriend?" She says, making the three siblings laugh.
Lando rolls his eyes, grabbing the gravy and passing it to his older brother. His parents shush down the bothering, noticing Lando's face.
"If it's any kind of problem with his girlfriend, then we hope everything solves." Adam says, pressing his hand on Lando's shoulder.
"Please, Dad!" Flo giggles. "He doesn't have a girlfriend."
Lando frowns, tired of being picked on. He then remembers your little trick, using it to his advantage.
"What do you know?" He asks his siblings. "I do have a girlfriend."
"Bloody liar." Olivier says. "What's her name? Do we know her?" He asks, provoking him. "A tenner that you are lying."
"I'm not lying. She's been in the same room as you have quite a few times."
"Who is she?" Flo asks.
"Is she pretty?" Cisca asks.
Lando smiles at the thought of you. "She is, fuck how can I describe her? She has such beautiful eyes, and her hair is amazing, also her smile, gorgeous smile." He describes his favorite things about you.
He turns back to his family, finding them looking at him with curious eyes. His parents are a little too stunned to ask.
"Do we know her?" Flo asks, smiling. "Who?"
"Tell us more about her." Cisca asks.
"Bring her to the dinner we have on friday." Adam suggests.
"But who is she?" Flo asks again. "Is it Eloise?"
Lando frowns, shaking his head no. "Her name is Y/n, sh-"
"She's from here? Or Monaco?"
"She works for McLaren?"
Lando chuckles, he knows he messed up big time. He was giving details that someone whose using their friends name to disengage out of a conversation shouldn't.
"I'll check if she's available to come." He says, serving himself more chips. "Can't promise anything."
Once he's back in Monaco, seating with his legs stretched over your expensive calacatta gold marble coffee table.
"What if they ask how we met?" You ask, eating your food. "Or like if you have met my mother."
"Then you say the truth." He says, giggling at your worried expression. "We met at Kelly's birthday dinner and I have met your mother. She loves me by the way."
You smile at that statement. "She really does."
You stayed quiet, eating your food and Lando sipping his smoothie. You grab the remote, pausing the movie.
"What should I wear?" You ask him, leaving the salad aside. "Should I take some macarons? Or chocolates? What is your mother's favorite dessert?"
Lando laughs, straightening himself on the couch. He looks at you with such devotion, feeling his heart about to explode from how cute you sound.
"Okay, first of all, that's cute." He jokingly pintch your cheek. "Second of all, you don't need to bring anything. You've met my parents before, and they loved you."
"They do?" You ask pouting. "I just don't want to embarrass you. What if I say something I shouldn't?"
"I do that all the time, don't worry, okay?" He opens his arms to you, wrapping you in a hug.
His weight brings you down on the cushions. You giggle at the action, moving to get a better position.
"I'm still giving them macarons." You whisper, moving your head to rest your chin on his chest. Lando bops your nose, making you giggle. "This is going to be fun."
🔸️🔸️🔸️
The dinner was going great, even when you are bring bombarded with questions. Lando was looking at you answer everything about yourself.
He was looking at you like a kid looking at his new christmas gift. The way you talk with his sisters, making them smile with your compliments.
The way his mom and you joke around as if you have known each other forever. He loved that, the way you make him feel like he doesn't need anything else.
He was sad that the dinner came to an end. If it was up to him, he would've spent the whole night watching you interact with his family.
You say goodbye to his family, hugging his mother and sisters. Giving his father and brother a wave as they are handling the kids.
The drive back to the hotel is quiet, but not an uncomfortable quiet. It's a very comfortable and calming silence.
Your hand finds his, intertwining your fingers together as he keeps driving. He hummed a song you were hearing earlier.
"I love your family." You whisper, bringing his hand to your lips, giving it a kiss. "Your parents are the sweetest people ever, and your siblings are amazing."
"You are amazing." He says, undoing his seat belt and pulling you towards him. "Thanks for this."
You let his hand go, grabbing his cheeks. "You make the idea of having a boyfriend fun." You confess.
His eyes trace your features, sighing at the reminder that it was all fake. It was all for show, just a favor that you were returning after he did the same for you.
He helps you with opening the door for you, grabbing your hand as you walk back to the hotel.
"You grew up here?" You ask, moving a little closer to him.
"Not really, my parents moved here but I used to live near my school. They love here, my sisters, my brother and his family."
"I love it here, it's calm."
He smiles, it was a calm place. He can picture himself in a calm place like this one for when he retire.
"Let me walk you all the way to your room." He says, pressing the elevator button. "After you." He smiles, moving a little to the side so you could enter first.
The silence fall over you again. The few seconds that the elevator takes to get to your floor, Lando's hand never leave yours.
"Are you leaving tonight?" You ask him as you get to the front door of your room.
"I have to." He pouts. "My team principal needs me for some interviews."
"How long until you are back in Monaco?"
"Probably a month."
"I might have to catch a flight to Las Vegas to see you." You joke, giving him a hug. "I really enjoyed tonight."
"Me too." He whispers. "Now get inside, its late and you have a plane to catch tomorrow."
You laugh at that. "It's a private flight, they are not leaving me behind."
"Good point." He sighs. "Night night."
You enter your room, leaving your purse in the small desk the room has. You take a seat at the chair next to the bed.
You notice the hoodie that was on the bed. It was Lando's cherry blossom pink hoodie that you borrowed from him.
It was like a heavenly sign for you to realize that what you wanted was right there about to get inside his car and get to the airport.
You get up, grabbing the hoodie and the room key card. You hope that Lando is not outside and about to get into his car.
You pat your pockets, trying to find your phone, remembering that it was inside your bag. It never left your bag since you entered his parents house.
When the elevator doors opens you ran towards the entrance of the hotel. You are surprised to see Lando walking back in time to catch you.
"Gosh, you are here!" You say in a very out of breath voice. "You left your hoodie, and I never gave it back or say thank you or-"
Lando doesn't need to hear your rambling about the hoodie and the party in Monaco. He needed to show you what he has been dying to do since he met you.
So he decides to shut you up with a kiss. Cupping your face into his hands and pulling you towards him.
Your body reacts instantly to this. Arms opening to embrace his figure and lips returning the kiss. Your hands placed around his waist, hoodie long forgotten as it laids on the floor.
When the air was sadly running out, forcing you to separate. You don't want to open your eyes, fearing that this was just an impulsive reaction to the raw moment of love and happiness you lived at dinner.
"Let's make a deal." He whispers, making you open your eyes. "Let's just stop pretending to be each other's partner."
The shiver that ran through your body scares you. The muscles tensing and aching at the misinterpretation of his words.
"Wha- why?" You ask, scared of the answer.
But Lando's giggle gave your heart a new sense of warmth. "I don't want to pretend something I want to be. The fake hugs, the fake dinner and parties, it doesn't have to be fake. What do you say?"
"I say that I'm happy I don't have to lie when I say my boyfriend is the coolest guy in the world." You laugh, giving him a quick kiss.
"Let's go pack your things." He says, separating and picking the hoodie from the floor. "Las Vegas awaits for us."

A/N: Sorry I took some time, I was very, very busy with college but I'm finally back! Love you all. I hope you liked it 🥹💛
Part one
Lando is usually perceived as a party boy, a womanizer. He was tagged as the guy who's out and brought a girl back home for the night.
The other drivers knew him as the party guy, the crazy one. That's why everyone always told their girl friends to be careful with him.
If you wanted a night and that's it, then call Lando.
You two crossed paths before, you were someone who was constantly in the paddock. You were considered the paddock princess by the press.
Mercedes golden girl, the narrators will say when the camera catches you in the garage next to your father.
It was an unwritten rule that you were prohibited.
It was well known that other drivers tried to get an opportunity and got rejected by you. An unwritten rule that even you knew about.
So he never really tried. He never cared to become one on the list of rejects. He never understood why everybody hyped you.
His opinion changed when he met you during Carlos' birthday party. Rebecca planned him a secret party and invited you.
He understood why people around you loved you. You were always happy, always blooming. You were like an instant happy pill.
He liked it more than he cared to admit.
It was too perfect to be true. You thought you knew him. You always took his side. Always made sure to defend him even when he was there to defend himself.
He loved that you were everything he wanted.
If you ask about the drivers opinion about your relationship. They will say that it was a time bomb. They secretly had a money bet about it.
"Lando."
Lando turns to the voice calling him. It was Max jogging towards him.
"Hi, mate."
"Charles just told me what happened last night." He says, grabbing Lando's shoulder. "What the hell did you do?"
Lando rolls his eyes. "Why is it my fault? She started it!"
Max shakes his head no. "You are my friend, Norris. I know how much of a fucker you are when you want to annoy someone."
"I'm done. Goodbye, Max." He paths Max in the shoulder.
Lando was done with all the comments he's getting from everyone. It was still very rocky with Magui, and now he's getting dirty looks from the drivers and their girlfriends.
He walks into the McLaren hospitality, walking towards his girlfriend. He doesn't miss a second and joins her in a hug.
The people around them who noticed this loved it. It was such a cute and adorable demonstration of love.
Sadly for you, you don't think it's adorable.
Your social media is full of the video of Lando and her. It was like you couldn't escape the sight of them.
"Y/n! We are finally blessed with your presence." Charles jokes, giving you a hug. "Where were you?"
"My brother graduated, so my dad and I missed the gp for a good reason." You smile.
"I understand one gp, but you've been absent from three."
"Charles!"
You giggle at him being scolded like a little boy. Alexandra was looking at him like he did something he wasn't supposed to.
"I was busy."
Charles understood the message. You don't want to talk about it. He just nodded, changing the topic.
You always thought that you were Lucky because of how close McLaren and Ferrari were in hospitality.
They were next to each other. It was the perfect excuse to use when you suddenly disappeared from Mercedes Hospitality and someone found you near McLaren.
You use Alexandra as an excuse, telling your dad that you will be visiting your friends Rebecca and Alex. They were in with the lie, so you were able to visit Lando during all the races.
You haven't felt like yourself for a few weeks. You skipped three races. One was because of your brother's graduation. The others were just because you didn't feel like putting on a fake smile when you were crying yourself to sleep.
"Cerise, love seeing you." Charles hugs you again. "I'll go to give some interviews, talk to you later."
"You say goodbye as if I'm not going to be by your girlfriend side all day." You joke, returning the hug. "Have fun answering questions."
"Will do." He smiles walking away.
You turn to where Alexandra is, she's drinking a cappuccino. "Want to go to Mercedes and steal George cookies?" You ask her with a mischievous smile. "Carmen is there."
You walk to the Mercedes Garage while Charles gets to his interviews. He was paired with Lando and Esteban.
Esteban wasn't getting involved in this feud between you and Lando. He made sure to inform his girlfriend that he was not going to take part.
Charles isn't rude to Lando, he just didn't really engage in conversations. He was very short in words.
Lando was done with that attitude. Mostly because it was affecting Magui too. Most wags will not engage with her.
It was something some of them decided to do. Lily, Oscar's girlfriend, was not okay with it. She thought that it was unfair that Lando's actions were taken out on Magui.
You told the girls not to do that. That you weren't mad with Margarida. She was just a victim of the situation.
"Charles, how's leo?" Lando asks, walking next to him.
"Good."
Esteban quickly says goodbye, not wanting to be part of the conversation anymore.
"Can we stop this shit?" Lando rolls his eyes.
"I actually don't feel like doing that." Charles smiles while walking away.
But Lando is not going to be silent about the shit show that you two created. He walks towards the mercedes garage, looking for you.
He frowns when he notices Magui on her way back to the McLaren hospitality. She was talking with Oscar's girlfriend, they were smiling and laughing.
"Hey, are you done for the day?" She asks, giving her a hug.
Lily smiles, whispering a goodbye as she walks back to find Oscar. Lando locks his arms around his girlfriend, giving her forehead a kiss.
"Almost, if you want, you can go back to the hotel." He whispers, placing his head on her neck.
"Actually, the girls invited me to go with them to this event. Charles girlfriend is preparing a small gathering."
He frowns, "They invited you?"
"Yeah, I went with Lily to get some coffee, and they stopped us to invite us."
"They?" He asks even more confused. "I was with Charles just now."
Magui chuckles at him, "It was Charles girlfriend and Toto's daughter, I forget their names. She's the one you f-"
"I know." He stops her, not wanting to go back to the topic. "Well, happy for you."
They walk back to the hospitality, Lando was going to spend some time there with her before going back to his mclaren duties.
The boys invited Lando to hang with them, they wanted to relax before practice day.
He can't lie that he is nervous about Magui being there with all the wags and you. He's checking on her every half hour.
"Can you leave the phone alone?" Oscar asks Lando. "Your girl is not going to be sacrificed. Relax, you idiot."
Carlos and Pierre laugh. They were all playing a match of padel, trying to spend a good time together.
"He's nervous because he doesn't want his girlfriend to know his hoe past."
"Past?" Carlos asks. "He is still a whore."
Lando frowns, offended at the comments. Oscar looks at his face and laughs. They all do, it's so funny seeing him that angry.
"Quit it." He says with an angry voice. "It's now bad that a man cares about his girlfriend?"
Carlos chuckles. "Worry about what?"
"Your girlfriend and Pierre's girlfriend ignore my girlfriend. Oscar's girlfriend only talks to her because she feels bad."
"First of all, Kika and Magui haven't talked in like a year." Pierre says, defending his girlfriend. "Second of all, they all were defending their friend. You were with Y/n in Australia and next thing we know is that you are kissing and hanging with a girl in Monaco, brought her to the races, introduce her as your girlfriend."
"To top that is the fact that you told her that you were leaving her because she wasn't what you wanted." Carlos says, hitting the ball towards Lando.
"Wait, you did that?" Oscar asks, surprised.
Lando stays quiet, confirming that he did. Oscar never really got a chance to hear the story since Lily didn't share the details you share with them.
"Fuck, you are an asshole." Oscar says, walking to where the waters are. "And that's on being nice."
"Not only that," Pierre decides to add more wood to the fire. "There was a time when he was seeing both of them."
"No!" Oscar eyes widen at the news. "Norris!"
"We weren't together." Lando says, his eyes fixed on the ball on the floor. "Plus, she knew we weren't in a relationship."
"Did she?" Carlos asks. "Did you ever talk about it? Like < Hey, just to let you know, this is just sex > Did you ever?"
Lando shakes his head, feeling a little overwhelmed with the situation. He's not one of being called out. He's always used to getting his way, but this time, his friends weren't going to let that happen.
"Didn't think it was necessary."
"But it was." Pierre says, walking closer to him. "You took her on dates, called her romantic nicknames, told her about your past, you even took her to your parents' house once. Im sorry, but in my books, that's a relationship."
"Listen, Lan. We are nobody to judge you. We have had our own situationship with girls, but we have stablish the conditions before it gets confusing."
"So, excuse our girlfriends for trying to stick with her. To them, Magui was the girl who got in the middle because that's what it looks like."
"Yeah, but she wasn't." Lando says, defending her. "Plus, thanks to her, Magui got excluded."
Carlos chuckles. "Are you stupid?" He asks in a very serious tone. Same tone that makes Lando open his mouth in surprise. "Rebe told me that it was Y/n who asked the girls to include Magui. She invited your girlfriend to her farewell party, all because she thinks Magui is not the one to blame."
"Farewell party?" Lando frowns.
"That's not important." Carlos quickly changes the topic. "She's not the problem, mate. You are."
Pierre and Oscar nodded, agreeing with Carlos words. It was very simple to understand, he was the common denominator.
"You created this, and even when she can ignore your girlfriend, she's including her at dinners. She tries to be nice to her."
"Kika told me that Y/n advised her to talk again with Magui." Pierre confess. "She told her that losing a friendship over a misunderstanding was not something they should do."
🍊
"Are you sure you don't want a ride back to the hotel?" Alexandra asks, grabbing her bag. "We still have space in the uber."
"Don't worry," you give her a hug. "You guys go to the same hotel, and I'll call my dad's driver."
"See you tomorrow, I love you." Alex says, waving at you. "Bye, girls." She says to Lily and Magui.
You were waiting for the driver, and they were waiting for Oscar's driver. You were going to the Ritz Carlton, and they were going to the Hilton.
You were talking to Lily about her college. She was happy to share with you how she's doing. You enjoyed talking to her, she was always nice to you.
When her phone starts ringing, she excuses herself from the room, leaving you alone with Magui.
It was weird, you two don't exactly know what to say. You won't ask her about her and Lando, and she doesn't even know what to ask you about.
"So," you break the uncomfortable silence. "I heard you telling the girls about your movie. Are you excited?"
"I am, yes." She smiles. "Are you excited about college?"
You nod. "It was about time." You joke, making her giggle.
"I'm back," Lily says, interrupting the small conversation. "The driver is here. Y/n, goodbye. See you tomorrow at the paddock."
"I'm not going to the paddock tomorrow." You confess. "I'll have an early flight to Cali."
Lily pouts, giving you a good hug. She wishes you good luck. Magui gives you a quick hug and says a quick goodbye.
When Magui arrives at the hotel, she goes straight to Lando's room. She wanted to tell him about her night.
"I had so much fun." She says as soon as he opens the door. He giggles and gives her a hug, pulling her inside the room. "I think I can finally say I'm making some friends."
"That sounds great." He smiles, kissing her cheek.
"It was kind of nostalgic for the others, tho." She confesses, laying in bes with him. "It was a farewell party for Y/n. She's going to college."
Lando frowns, now understanding Carlos words. He stays quiet, listening to Magui talk. He didn't feel well, he feels guilty at all the things he said to you.
He acted as if he didn't really care. Most of the time, it was to protect himself, but this time, everybody was pointing fingers at him, and it was justified.
He couldn't sleep well that night. His mind was keeping him awake. He knows that what Pierre and Carlos said was tough, but it was real.
He checks the time, it was too early to even be awake, but he quickly moves to grab a pair of joggers and a hoodie.
He calls his driver, asking him to take him to the Ritz-Carlton. He knows that if someone was awake was you.
You have this habit of getting early and going for a run. No matter where you are, you like to make this a ritual.
He asks the driver not to tell anybody where he is. He was going to talk with Russell and then be back quickly.
He places his shades on, trying not to get recognized by the tourists that are doing their morning exercise.
He tries to move around, trying to find you around in the different people who were running around in the designated area.
After half an hour, he was ready to give up. Maybe you don't have the same routine. Maybe you don't even wake up early anymore.
"Lando?"
He turns to the voice calling him. He finds you with a frown, you were carrying your laptop and a coffee.
Something you ever had was this power of being able to find Lando in a crew of people. After what happened, you hated being able to still find the messy and non taken care set of curls.
"Can we talk?" He asks, walking closer towards you. "I'm not taking much time."
You frown, not sure what his intentions were. "I'm actually running late." You lie.
Sadly for you, he has this ability to tell when you lie. If you ask him, he will tell you how your voice is a little quieter and you don't look at people in the eye when telling a lie.
"Just five minutes." He begged. "Please."
You know you should tell him to go fuck himself and walk away. But you agree, nodding and asking him to follow you.
Mercedes has the conference rooms reserved in case they need them. They were barely used, so you know it's the best place to talk without anybody around.
"Five minutes." You say, leaving your laptop and phone on the table. You check the time on your watch. "Go."
If you know Lando, he's not a man who gets short of words. He always has something to say, something to lighten the mood or something to joke about.
"Cat got your tongue?" You ask.
"No, I-" he tries to think his words with caution. "I was very rough with my words the last time we saw each other. I know that I was wrong when I told you the things I told yo-"
"When you told me I was not enough to be with you?" You ask boldly. "Or when you told me that my father doesn't love me enough and again that I was not enough? Or both?"
"I was so wrong for that." He whispers, feeling bad. "I did everything the wrong way."
"Doesn't matter, Lando." You whisper. "Plus, your time is over." You say, grabbing your stuff and walking away.
You exit the conference room. You were tired of the conversation. You wanted to forget about what happened.
About him.
About her.
Her.
You can't help but compare yourself to her.
Gorgeous eyes, gorgeous face, an amazing body, and a smile that lights up rooms. She was everything you could only dream of being.
You hate that you think so little of yourself. You hate that even when he says you are not enough, you understand him.
That was the thought that runs through your head every time you think about it. You weren't what he wanted.
"Y/n, please." Lando calls, following you. "I just want to apologi-"
"I told you things that I never said." You turn to him. Making him stop abruptly. "I believed you when you told me I could trust you. I told you about my dad, I told you about college, I told you that I've only been with one other person."
Lando doesn't answer. He never thought about the weight of his actions on you. He never thought you were holding that much inside.
"And you told me I could trust you." You say, the resentment in your voice is evident. "You told me you never felt like this, not even with your ex. You told me you loved me after you won a race. That you wanted me to be there for you, and then you show up at my hotel room. Telling me that you found someone else, that she's your girlfriend."
"I'm sor-"
"You told me I wasn't what you wanted." You interrupt him. "< I have her now, and she's enough. >" You remind him of his words. "So keep your apologies to yourself, cause I don't need them. You are everybody's golden boy, but you are my worst regret."
