Well first off WOWZERS it's so cool that you're interested in seeing more, I want everyone to know that I read the silly tags and comments you put under my art and it makes me smile so big like... I started posting as a kinda way to archive my sketches and less exciting art (I have a narsty habit of mass deleting a bunch of doodles and realizing too late that they were important :'), but you like MY art??? MY goofy cartoon Mario art??? HEHEHEÈÆEHE no wayyyyy thank you so super much!!!! <333

As for having any actual plans, I don't want to say I'm gonna for sure do X, Y and Z because I'm just doing this for fun, and I don't want to put out any false expectations for people. I plan to reveal the lore with time through various means, but I'm just a dumb fan who wants to give my favorite piece of media some love. Maybe one day I'll have made so much art I can compile it into a full comic XD

I can totally pull a speed paint, here’s the complete start to finish process of this piece of concept art I did not too long ago!

When it comes to finished pieces with clean line art and shading I do kinda have a certain way (for the most part) that I like to do things, but with messy sketchy stuff like this I definitely get experimental and don’t often do the exact same thing twice when it comes to the way I color and shade it.

I have my usual colors I like to use like hot pink, blues, yellow and purples for my shading and lighting, but I’m always trying new combos and there’s not a ton of rhyme or reason (that I recognize at least, other than I like things to be bold and bright :]) to how I color/choose my colors. I’m constantly just winging it and hoping it looks good, or at least intresting lol. I DO however play with the saturation and color balance very often. I edit the brightness and contrast multiple times in nearly every piece I do, and it’s totally helped me understand color theory and improved my pallets immensely!! Definitely recommend playing around with it and just seeing what hues and contrast you could get, I definitely wouldn’t have thought of some of the pallets I use for characters and backgrounds without exploring that.

And of course I get inspired by other artists wayyyyy better than me! ;) I get SUPER inspired by the art and colors of Toulouse-Lautrec. I have a book of some of his works and have annotated it to death, you should definitely look him up if you’re not familiar! 💚

I wish I could come up with a more “pro” sounding explanation of my process, but it really is just me clumsily slapping down whatever colors I think will look good/convey the mood I’m going for :’]

I've been looking for these pictures for 10+ years and finally found them today and since I'm primarily a Super Mario fan artist I wanna show the world where it all started I'm so excited ouhghhhh ༼⁠;⁠´⁠༎ຶ⁠ ⁠۝ ⁠༎ຶ⁠༽

This is a picture of my cake from my 4th birthday party, Super Mario themed ofcccc. That's baby me in the corner dressed up as the princess :') I vividly remember picking off and eating the fondant waves on the cake and coloring in a picture of King Koopa (that I'm SO SAD I no longer have. I remember being pretty bummed we couldn't find any coloring pages of the koopalings lol). I barely knew how to read but you BET I could play that silly plumber game on our NES/DS and watch those three beautiful beautiful cartoons every. single. day bruuuuuuu I feel like that wolf ripping off it's shirt meme I'm so happy to finally find this :'000

Who is your fav koopaling to draw?

CHEEZY I like drawing Cheesy Koopa the best no contest 💚 He’s definitely my go-to to doodle when I don’t know what else to draw. Cheatsy’s also my favorite to write dialogue for because he’s just so awful and slimy. I love him <333

First off WOWEE thank you!! :))) I’m assuming you mean for their cartoon counterparts since that’s all I post, which I’m always game to yap about yessirrrr

Not sure whether you want a full on lore dump or fun facts, so I’ll just drop a few general cannon divergencies in my silly reimagining. Can dive deeper into a specific koopaling, but there are some plot points I wanna save to reveal through art and animatic 💚

-From oldest to youngest: Bully, Cheatsy, Kooky, Kootie, Big Mouth, Hip N Hop

-Cheatsy is King Koopa’s second in command, which creates a heated rivalry between him and Bully (more like Bully pathetically tries push Cheatsy around and the latter easily evades him). Koopa isn’t playing favorites, Cheatsy just has a multitude of skills better suited for his needs than Bully does. Bully’s a tank, but unfortunately a massive coward as well :’)

-Although the koopalings do go off on their own to cause trouble for Mario and Co., they’re rarely ever sent off by Koopa to carry out certain tasks like in cannon. Koopa encourages them (aside from Hip N Hop, they’re too young according to him. They do still occasionally sneak out, however) to cause mischief in the mushroom kingdom and instill the fear of them in its inhabitants, but he plans to seize the kingdom himself. Throughout the series he continuously plots their demise in the background, the grizzly end goal being to conquer the mushroom kingdom and feed its heros to his koopalings. (Take any violence and threats at 80s cartoonish value!) Everything he does is for his kids once they come into the picture.

-Like their father, the koopalings were created via magic rather than being a naturally occurring species. Though instead of being purely magic like Koopa, his blood was used in their conception. They were all created and hatched in the banishment zone. They all inherited and highlight one of Koopa’s key attributes.

-Koopa, who was created to be and widely seen as the embodiment of pure evil, and his relationship with the koopalings is the cause of a great moral dilemma amongst Mario and Co. and a high point of conflict from episode to episode.

You guessed it, more backlog it will never end ❤️✨🥶 This one I can pinpoint to mid 2025 tho, so not quite as old as some other pieces.

This was my sort of rendition of Kooky’s lab. I was going for a feeling rather than how I’d actually design it, but it definitely inspired how I envision the layout nowadays. I like to imagine him working on a grander scale with a rocky wrench crew on standby if he so chooses (he’s still the brains around here tho, of course), far more reminiscent of a junkyard than a typical laboratory. It’s organized chaos, just like him.

More sorta kinda recent koopa backlog~ Some notes I whipped up after deciding what direction I wanted to take with Kootie Pie. She’s probably the koopaling I went through the most changes with in design and personality over the years 🎀🔥

The fourth eldest of the koopalings, and King Koopa's only daughter. Kootie Pie is totally in tune with her royal status and insists on living her ideal, pampered life. She expects complete compliance from everyone, her entitlement going far beyond just her father's kingdom. She likes to keep a prim and proper appearance but isn't afraid to get ugly when her bratty demands aren't met. It doesn't help that Koopa all but endorses her behavior and is keen to cater to her cries - as if trying to make up for his children's earliest years being spent in the banishment zone with him.

Despite her appearance and snobbish behavior she's just as brutish and out for blood as the rest of her siblings. Her schemes are never next level and hardly clever, but she's horribly persistent in trying again and again if she wants something bad enough. If she DOES succeed in her heists, good luck getting the stolen property back. Once she's got something in her grasp, she'll fight tooth and claw to keep it.
