can we get some headcanons of spinel and a sleeby reader? or maybe the other way around? this has been done a lot but,,, it's cute
my first ask I am dying with excitement
- spinel knows you’re getting sleepy when you start yawning and slurring your words when you talk
- “tired, dollface? aww, let’s getcha in bed.”
- you protest of course, but when she picks you up bridal style and presses tiny kisses to your face as she carries you to your bed, murmuring nothings into your ear, you just melt into her arms
-“you’re just the cutest thing, y’know?”
- she lays you down and cuddles up besides you for a few minutes, stroking your hair and maybe humming a tune, until she knows you’re asleep
-if you’re wrapped around her too tight she won’t go anywhere... not that she minds, she’d just pull you closer to her and bury her face in your neck
-but if you aren’t, she kisses your forehead one more time and gets up slowly, whispering a quiet “love you, darlin’” before softly closing your door and letting you rest peacefully
-now for the other way around!!
-when she gets tired, her accent starts getting more pronounced, and when you tease her about it she gets playfully defensive
-“what, you gotta problem with my-“ *yawn* “-my accent, doll?”
-you just laugh in response, and she gets pouty, which is quite frankly adorable
-when she’s tired she loses her filter and says whatever the heck might come out of her mouth
-“yknow, I always... i always thought I’d never find me somebody to love me at all, but you’s, uh... you’s a real sweet one... can’t believe you like me so much, sugar... doesn’t make much sense but I can... I can go with it as long as ya want...”
-at this you smile and tell her she needed to go to bed, and since you live together (obviously) and humans get sleepier much easier than gems do, so you’re happy to join her
-once you lay done together, you’re attached at the hip
-as you drift off, spinel continues to talk quietly to you- eventually you can’t understand what she’s saying, but it sounds something along the lines of “I love you so much.”
-and of course, you feel the same.
