“You’ve been really quiet.”
Edward didn’t say anything.
“Is something wrong? Is it something I did?”
“No, it’s not you. It’s Wolfe. Motherfu…ricker.”
“You don’t sound too confident in that.” Drew was sure that it wasn’t about Felix, those weren’t colors that he associated with Edward thinking about Felix.
“I-no-ugh,” Edward let out a sigh, “it isn’t about Wolfe. It is about you.”
Drew giggled. “It’s alright! You can be honest with me, I won’t judge.”
Edward looked away, his cheeks darkening before looking at Drew. He was embarrassed to say it, but he wouldn’t keep it in any longer.
“Damn it, I like you!” he said, looking away again.
Drew just looked at Edward for a moment. This wasn’t a joke, he really felt this way. The colors didn’t lie. Drew smiled.
Edward felt lips on his cheek as he turned his head, seeing Drew.
“I like you too. You can tell me anything, you know. I’ll always be here for you.”
“Well. That was a game,” Isaac said, getting up and stretching.
“Yeah.”
More indie horror games. Both Nevin and Isaac were fans. Both were a bit wary ever since the incident with Monika, but still enjoyed the genre.
“You’re nervous. What’s going on? Worried that something like what happened the last time you recommended a game will happen this time?” Nevin laughed a little. “I’m the one that should be nervous about that.”
“No. It’s… something else.”
“You can talk to me. What’s up?”
“Um, Error is watching us through the window.”
Nevin looked over and saw Edward’s hair disappear from view. He walked over and opened the window.
“For fuck sake, just knock on the door like a normal person!”
Edward stood back up. “No. I have… reasons.”
“As in?”
Edward had nothing to say to that.
“Thought so. Can you go away now?”
Edward had already started running off as Nevin said that.
“I should probably get going,” Isaac said.
“Alright, let me take you home at least.”
“Fine.”
The couple walked out the door, and Isaac let out a small noise as Nevin lifted him into a bridal carry.
“I didn’t hear anything about this,” Isaac said.
“But are you complaining?”
“I guess I’m not.”
Nevin proceeded to carry Isaac home and flipped off anyone who dared comment.
