Being in nature was a big part of my upbringing. It’s the only time I felt deep peace, joy, wonder, expansive and held, all at once. I was most comfortable in solitude outside near running water. I was quiet most of the time and most social situations felt abrasive and jarring to me. I loved to just think and feel and breathe. Just be. I would think about the perception of my experience often. Like how it was impossible to know if anyone else was having the same experience, or seeing the same way I was in the same place and time. Or how my soul was clearly separate of my body and if I could travel to the stars if I wanted to. I felt deeply and would converse with the trees and animals around me. I would hear whispers and see shadows walking by. When I really focused, I would see the different layers of vibration and would sometimes scare myself when I could see through the space of the atoms of dense objects. I thought often, “None of this is real” and wondered how I got here. As I got a little bit older and society started to creep into my consciousness, I would squirm with loneliness and heartache. My energy felt pulled and I would have dizzy spells and panic attacks. I was 8 when I had my first panic attack. I would cry often at night but not know why. I couldn’t focus in school. I just wanted to go back home to myself, in my thoughts and in nature… (Continued in blog on site here https://ssofct.com/being-called-how-my-inner-child-founded-spirit-school/ 👆🏼) #spiritschoolofct #innerchildwork #innatewisdom #backtonature #backtoinnocence #fullcircle #clarity #consciouscommunity #consciousfamilies (at Fairfield, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz9dg18FaVt/?igshid=15h7ohdg5cnxt

The Beginning Of Our Journey...
The Beginning Of Our Journey...
Spirit School of Connecticut is a spiritual school for children and families that fosters self awareness, authentic expression, and compassionate leadership.
Our mission: “Empowering the future generation of wise, compassionate leaders”
Spirit School of Connecticut was founded by me, Nora Jaya Malfettone, a mother to my daughter, wife, healing artist, Yoga teacher, and doula from Fairfield, CT. The idea of the school came to me in a meditation after feeling a powerful urge to nurture the future generations for a more loving world. My idea to empower children and young adults by validating their innate wisdom started the philosophy of Spirit School of CT. Our school’s programing, classes and curriculum facilitate a unique approach to child education and produce an organic, heart focused atmosphere. We believe that all children are naturally born with deep compassion, creativity and vitality, and when invited to express it freely, they thrive. This focus will translate into the children’s adult life and create a ripple effect of authenticity, kindness and responsibility. Our programs include children and family workshops, classes and parent groups. When the whole family is practicing self-awareness and authentic expression, created is a very strong, supportive unit.
What’s to come?
Programs for the school will be customized for each age group, family and parent services. The classes will include yoga (prenatal, child, young adult) and pranayama (breathing techniques), guided meditation and visualization, sound and music therapy, vocal toning and authentic expression, earth wisdom and conscious environmentalism, intuitive development, journaling and creative writing, compassionate leadership and reflective support, victorious dance and liberating movement, and doula services. Classes will be available September 2018!
Follow along on our journey as we share more!
