The tug of something strange calling out to him was something Kier had sort of grown accustomed to as of late. Heâd felt it a few times before Greece â the connection to Jade had always been there, and the desire to travel to Greece had been overwhelming â but once in the place he now knew was the setting of his former life, it seemed constant. There was the tugging that drew him towards the other gods, the ever-present one calling him towards the Underworld, the one that informed him when dead were near. It had mostly eased since his arrival at Olympus, and part of him wondered if that was because heâd accepted who he was now. It would make sense, he guessed, for the tugging to go away when it was no longer necessary to lead him to the truth. That theory sort of went out the window when he felt it in his gut once again, stronger than it had been in a while. Based on the expression on Jadeâs face, she felt it too. Shrugging a shoulder, Kier nodded. âI donât know what it is, but I think we ought to find out.â It seemed pretty important, whatever it was.
Getting to his feet, Kier followed her towards their entrance to the Underworld. He found he wasnât surprised to see a spirit waiting for them when they arrived, though the desperation on the spiritâs face was a little shocking. He glanced over to Jade as she spoke, offering the spirit an uncertain wave.
Swallowing as the spirit began begging for mercy, Kier looked over at Jade with an expression of confusion. âUh, what do we do here? I think this oneâs a you thing.â
There were a lot of new sensations that Jade was beginning to adjust to. It wasnât everyday that she could sense where spirits were, and it wasnât everyday that she felt the incredible tugging sensation towards the entrance of the Underworld. For Kier, his powers had been different, and he had always been able to locate where spirits were, but Jade had never had that. Jade didnât mind the new abilities that were slowly beginning to form, although it was⊠strange, she guessed, after having the same ones for so long. Still, Jade was happy to explore everything new about her life, and she was thrilled that Kier was at her side, her maybe soulmate, to support her discoveries just like she would his. âIf itâs Asher or one of the other gods, Iâm gonna be so annoyed,â she informed Kier seriously. Frankly, Jade had absolutely no clue what was demanding her attention, but making a joke of it limited some of the severity and panic the tugging brought on. âCan we banish them?â Jade asked as she began leading Kier in the direction of the tugging.
The spirit was something Jade should have expected. They were the King and Queen of the Underworld, responsible for the afterlife and all that nonsense. What was unexpected was the fact that spirit was begging for mercy. âWhy is this a me thing?â Jade whispered, looking confused. âYouâre the king!â Kier was totally in control here.
Turning back towards the spirit, Jade asked, âWhat kind of mercy?â If they understood what the spirit wanted, surely they could make a better decision.
âI died before my wedding day. It was supposed to be next week,â the spirit cried. The man was only in his late twenties, and the longer she stared at him, the more apparent the cause of his death was. That was new, too! If Jadeâs intuition, magic, whatever, was to be believed, the spirit had died from drowning. âI want to be brought back to life,â the spirit said. âPlease King Hades and Queen Persephone.â
âCan we bring people back to life now?â Jade asked Kier, visibly confused.
hcartsandmindsâ:
The more time Kier spent on Mount Olympus, the more he understood about his old life. The halls here were lined with memories, both good and bad. He remembered arguing with the other gods, remembered watching as they tore each other to shreds over petty arguments. He didnât remember the details exactly â it was all mostly vague, something like recalling memories of a dream youâd had the night before â but he figured that would come with time. In spite of the memories, he didnât feel quite as at home in Olympus as the other gods seemed to. From what heâd read on Hades (on himself?), heâd never spent much time on the mountain. Heâd largely preferred the Underworld, and Kier found himself sympathizing with the viewpoint. Weirdly, the lake of fire and three headed dog had seemed a lot more welcoming than the beautiful palace atop a mountain!
That was what was on his mind as he stood at the edge of the mountain, looking down over Greece. He felt Jade approach before he saw her, an odd tugging in his stomach that told him she was there. Turning towards her, he smiled and leaned in as she kissed his cheek. âI thought I was the only one,â he laughed, shaking his head. âIâm glad Iâm not. The Underworld was nicer, wasnât it?â He sighed, longing for the strange comfort that had come along with being surrounded by death. Was that totally fucked up? It seemed totally fucked up! Glancing back to Jade, he nodded his head. âMaybe thereâs a gate around here somewhere? Iâm sure Hades liked to have a quick getaway. From what I remember, things got kind of chaotic around here. Lots of arguing.â He waved a hand in a vague gesture, thinking again about how much he missed the Underworld. To his shock, his hand met resistance in the air as he brought it down, and instead of a grassy plain in front of them there was fire. Blinking, Kier took a step back. The rest of the scenery remained the same; it looked almost as if there was a rip in the sky, with the unmistakable backdrop of the Underworld inside it. âOh, okay,â he said, sounding more than a little shocked as he looked back to Jade.
Persephoneâs â or Jadeâs, she wasnât sure what the protocol was on the whole âpast lifeâ identity thing â time had been evenly split between the Underworld and Mount Olympus. She had mostly spent time in Demeterâs wing of the fucking sky palace, but Persephone had always preferred the Underworld once she grew comfortable there. Frankly, it was the only place where she wasnât doted or looked upon. Demeter was always worried about her, protective especially after Persephone chose the Underworld while the other Gods were jerks thanks to the fact that she wasnât an Olympian. The Underworld was different, she belonged, she was respected, and most importantly, she was free to do as she pleased. Hades had adored her, and Jade could see how that was mirrored in this life, too. Kier always encouraged Jade to exercise her independence, he was never an asshole and Kier adored her.
As cool as Mount Olympus was, it wasnât Jadeâs preferred hangout and she had explored everything she wanted to about Persephone â Jadeâs â past life. âNah, youâre definitely not the only one. This place is cool and everything, but I definitely like the Underworld better.â It didnât surprise Jade that Kier felt the same way. From what she remembered, Hades was very rarely on top of the mountain. As Kier mentioned a gate, Jade paused, trying to wrack her memory for a Gate to the Underworld nearby. Nothing seemed to come up, but from what Jade had learned thus far, memories werenât jogged easily. Her past life came to her in fragments whenever it chose. âYeah, thereâs gotta be a gate nearby,â Jade agreed. âPersephone probably would have wanted to get back to the Underworld as soon as possible, too,â she added. Hades had spoiled his queen! He would totally gift her a gate. As Kier gestured and a portal opened in midair, Jade couldnât help but laugh, shocked. âThat works,â Jade said. She leaned in and kissed Kier deeply before stepping through the portal and immediately, Jade felt calm settle over her, surrounded by death once again. âThis is so much better,â she said contentedly. âWanna go find our room now? I bet itâs beautiful.â It wasnât even meant as a pickup line for once!
hcartsandmindsâ:
Being on Mount Olympus was⊠strange. It was endlessly familiar despite the fact that Aria had never been there in this lifetime. The feeling of belonging sheâd had in Greece was amplified beyond belief, and every corner seemed to house some object that made her remember something. She wasnât sure what to do with it, wasnât certain how to react. How were you supposed to deal with the information that you were a goddess? When people in her village had made the claim, it had been easy to laugh it off, but here? Aria knew it was the truth, knew it with the same certainty that she knew her heart was beating. The information had shifted the relationships between herself and the rest of her companions as well. Sheâd had a child with Isaiah, Kieran had stolen her daughter away from her, Asher had tried to help her get her back⊠She had two lives worth of impressions of these people now, and it was complicated.
Nothing, of course, was more complicated than Jade. Sheâd felt instantly protective of the other woman the moment sheâd met her, and now that she understood who they were to one another, that feeling only intensified. She might not be able to recall vivid memories of her life as a goddess just yet, but she remembered the feelings. She could perfectly recall the despair when Persephone vanished, easily remember the desperation with which she had searched for her daughter, the pain and denial regarding the fact that Persephone felt she belonged among death rather than life. Each time she saw Jade, it all came shooting to the surface. She offered the woman a strained smile now, chuckling lightly. âThat might be too weird,â she replied with a shrug. She certainly felt maternal instinct towards Jade, but her friend was only a few years younger than her in this life. âIâm⊠a little overwhelmed, I think. Itâs a lot to take in, even if itâs not as surprising as it should be. How are you? Are you adjusting okay?â
Honestly, Jade wasnât entirely sure how to feel about the fact that Aria was her mother. It wasnât totally shocking by any means, Jade had always felt more connected to her than the others, like she could trust Aria, but it was understandably kinda weird to find out that your friend was actually your mother in a past life. Their mother/daughter relationship was also⊠problematic, from what Ivy remembered. Aria â Demeter, fuck â had never believed that Jade wanted to be in the Underworld. She had missed her daughter, had kicked and  screamed and completely rejected the fact that Persephone loved Hades. To say that it was layered would be an understatement, and honestly, it was difficult to differentiate where Aria ended and Demeter began. Past lives were confusing!
But that didnât change the fact that Jade cared about Aria genuinely and it didnât change the fact that despite their drama, Persephone loved Demeter deeply. Jade wanted to figure out how their relationship would work in the present day and some strange, stubborn part of her wanted to make amends for the past, too. Knowing Aria and how kind she was, Jade figured that she would feel similarly. At Ariaâs reply, Jade laughed and shrugged a shoulder. âI think this is all kinda weird,â she replied honestly. âBut hey! If itâs any consolation, I like you way better than this lifeâs mom.â Gemma was an absentee parent at best â which was kind of ironic now that Jade knew how desperately Demeter had loved her daughter, she was anything but absentee. âYeah, itâs definitely a lot,â Jade agreed. âIâve had a lot of time to get used to my powers, but theyâre like⊠changing now,â she said. âSo thatâs weird! But besides that, Iâm doing okay. This all feels good so why ignore it, right?â
hcartsandmindsâ:
Jade had been a vital aspect of Kierâs life for as long as sheâd been a part of it at all. There had been no time where she was just some girl he knew, not really. From the moment heâd met her, sheâd been important to him. For a long time, heâd figured his instant attachment to her was brought on by issues caused by his father, but now that he knew the truth about them, now that he knew who they really were, he knew better. Theyâd been drawn together based on who they were. It was like all the stories, all the dumb romance stuff heâd never understood before. Their souls had called out for one another, the universe had drawn them together. They were meant to be in this life, just like they were in the last one. And, just like they had then, theyâd overcome a number of challenges to get there.
âI definitely plan to appreciate you more,â he told her with a smile, leaning in as she kissed him again. Heâd been working on his flirting for her! Lux had given him some tips, and while the vast majority of them were unusable â he had no idea how to write someone a sonnet â some of them seemed like they might come in handy. Jade deserved the best, and Kier planned on doing everything in his power to give her just that. âI wonât say no to that,â he smiled, shrugging a shoulder. Being with Jade most of the time kind of sounded like Heaven to him, if he was being honest. âSo do you,â he told her simply, because she did. Jade deserved the world, if she wanted it. âThe guy of your dreams, huh?â He couldnât hide a smile at that. How often did the girl of your dreams call you the guy of hers? âI guess we should, right? I mean, itâs gonna be there whether we talk about it or not. We might as well at least figure out how we feel about it.â It was a pretty complicated situation, and he doubted there would be any internet articles offering suggestions on how to deal with it. âYeah, me either. I mean, I guess it explains some of the weird stuff weâve been dealing with, but beyond thatâŠâ
Kier was the best friend that Jade had ever had. They had gone through a lot together, fought to be at this point, and while their friendship would always be of the utmost importance to Jade, thinking about Kier as a friend was pretty much impossible. They hadnât been together long, and maybe it was partially due to the revelation about their past lives, but Jadeâs feelings had shifted completely. Sure, they were always present in the background before they had begun dating, even when they were teenagers, but Jade believed that they had been way more controllable then. Jade could sleep with other people for example, she could kiss other people and kind of enjoy it, and now the idea was completely repulsive. Things between Kier and Jade had definitely changed fast, but nothing felt better, and all Jade hoped was that Kier felt the same way.
âI canât wait for you to appreciate me more,â Jade said with a grin. âThat was a pretty good line, babe,â she added after a moment. Jade noticed the improvement with his flirting! Kier hadnât stammered at all, Jade was proud of him. âI think it sounds pretty ideal,â she admitted. It wasnât as though Jade and Kier spent a lot of time apart â they had always been fairly inseparable â but there were steps that they could take in order to be together more. For example, Kier could just live in her room! As Kier spoke, Jade smiled at him and leaned forward to kiss his forehead. âYeah, the literal guy of my dreams,â she replied. âIâve had dreams about you and Hades. Pretty romantic, huh?â It had always been a little weird to dream about the God of the Underworld, but Jade hadnât questioned it much up until recently. Obviously since discovering her past life, Hades had made appearances a little more frequently. âI feel pretty good about it,â Jade admitted. âItâs a little weird, but it makes sense and it answers all our questions,â Jade said. âWeâre supposed to be ruling the Underworld though so thatâs⊠kind of weird.â Jade wasnât sure how to feel about that new responsibility. âHow do you feel about it?â
hcartsandmindsâ:
Having some sort of explanation for the odd happenings heâd been dealing with his entire life was a relief Lux couldnât even begin to describe. Heâd always been bad at not knowing things, always longed for more information. Thanks to Jade, he was getting that now. He was grateful for that, even if it was weird information. At least it wasnât something bad. He could totally handle being a god! âIâll write a song about your ass,â he promised her with a grin. âItâll be beautiful. I bet ten bucks it makes at least a thousand people cry.â Now that he knew about the connection between himself and the God of Music, even his songwriting skills made a little more sense! âYouâre only saying that because you havenât seen my abs,â he joked with a snort. She was totally biased by the whole âloveâ thing here. âReally? Thatâs great!â He smiled, obviously pleased by the news. He was a romantic! He could appreciate love when he saw it, even if it wasnât his own. âMy love lifeâs a little nonexistent right now unless weâre counting hookups. Not all of us get tall, broody soulmates that follow us to Greece!â There was a teasing lilt to his tone, and he flashed her a bright grin to let her know he was only kidding.Â
The more he read about Apollo, the more he found himself buying into Jadeâs theory. When he got to the bit about Hyacinthus, he stopped, lowering the iPad with a sigh. âI donât know,â he admitted. âI mean, itâs too much to be a coincidence, but Iâm not sure Iâm ready to jump on the âIâm a Greek godâ train just yet, if only to prove the gossip magazines wrong. They always said I had an ego.â He shrugged a shoulder, snorting lightly. âI guess you are. Youâve gotta live with a guy who names mythical creatures Spot.â He knew she didnât mind it. The look in her eyes when she spoke about Kier spoke volumes. âWell, if youâre in the club, I guess Iâm on board. As long as Iâm not the only one going around telling people Iâm a god, I think Iâll be all right. So, what now? What do we do with this information?â
âI want it to make at least two thousand people cry,â Jade said seriously. âMy ass deserves that, Iâve worked hard on it.â Jade wasnât really paying much attention to the fact that Lux was trying to make a bet with her, she was way too excited about the whole âgetting a song about her assâ thing. Kier was gonna relate to the song so much! âI donât need to see your abs, Lux, I just know Kierâs are better!â It was kind of hard to top a soulmateâs abs, Jade figured, but she could admire Luxâs persistence nonetheless. Jade grinned at Luxâs enthusiasm about her newfound relationship, not bothering to hide the fact that she was ecstatic about the situation. âHookups could count if you want them to,â Jade replied. âWhoâre you fucking? Are they any good?â She laughed before adding, âNot everyone has a soulmate that follows them all over the world? Weird!â
As Kier lowered the iPad, Jade watched Lux curiously. He definitely seemed to believe what he had just read, but believing someone and accepting it were always a little different. âIf youâre a god, arenât you kinda supposed to have an ego?â Jade asked, raising her eyebrows. Sure, Lux wasnât being informed that he was a god by a bunch of dead people which made believing it a little harder. At the mention of Kier, she smiled once more, unable to help it. âCould be worse. I could be stuck with a guy who canât get it up,â Jade pointed out. Idly, she wondered if any gods had that problem. It seemed mortal! âYeah, then the egotistical thing applies to us all. Weâre gonna celebrate being gods, right? Then weâll deal with the serious stuff after.â
hcartsandmindsâ:
Despite his tendency to get into fights, Spencer had never had much trouble making friends. Heâd been fairly popular in his unit, and it was rare for someone not to like him. Even many men heâd fought had bought him a drink after the fact. Spencer liked to believe he was an easy man to get along with, but among the Greek travelers, he wondered if the idea might be disproven. The majority of his fellow travelers liked him just fine, sure, but it wasnât the case for all.Â
In particular, Beck seemed to find him utterly deplorable. Spencer wasnât sure why, nor did he plan on asking. He didnât need anyone who didnât need him, and if Beck wanted to be a dick, Spencer could be one right back. Who cared if he felt drawn to the other man? He was sure punching him would be just as satisfying as having a drink with him! Maybe even more so, considering the way the man acted towards him.Â
Naturally, the universe seemed intent on pushing the two together despite their reservations. Spencer was fairly certain it was karma or something. Heâd only killed, like, one guy, but apparently the universe held a grudge. He bit back a groan as he recognized Beck in the hot tub. He figured he had two options here: he could tuck tail and run, or he could stand his ground. Never one for running away, Spencer climbed into the hot tub, maintaining eye contact with the other man as he did so. âNope. The more the merrier, right?â He plastered on an obviously fake smile, leaning back against the wall and ignoring the pounding in his chest. Couldnât Beck have at least had the common courtesy of being an ugly dick? âSo, you enjoying the whole âgodâ thing? Which one were you again? The one with the snakes in the hair?â
Most of the other gods were decent enough, and originally, Beck hadnât travelled to Mount Olympus just to make friends. He remembered his life as Achilles, knew he was destined for more, and he was going to fucking make it happen. The army hadnât worked out for obvious reasons and after losing James, Beck was strangely relieved about that. Staying on a battlefield where heâd lost the love of his life â not once, but twice â seemed like torture and the battle was one Beck had been fighting for a long, long time. He belonged with the gods, and while he was only a demigod himself, Mount Olympus was just like home. Obviously Beck wouldnât mind if some action happened, but everyone was adjusting to their newfound identities. Eventually, the chaos and drama would start just as it had centuries ago.
Beck hadnât been naive enough to believe that Spencer would back down easily. He didnât know who he was supposed to be representing from his past life, but the guy wasnât a coward. Neither was Beck and so he stretched out across the hot tub, allowing his muscles to flex for theatrics. Beck didnât break eye contact as Spencer sat down and he nodded in agreement. âWhy not invite everyone to join us?â He said wryly. There was no one else Beck particularly disliked, and yeah, he could admit that it wasnât Spenceâs fault. Beck disliked him specifically because of the way he felt around him, that all consuming draw which always lead to death. âOnly a demigod,â he pointed out, shrugging a shoulder. âMedusa, huh? If that were the case, youâd be turned to stone just for looking at me.â Beck hated the fact that was a decent joke. âIâm Achilles, an old hero,â he added. âWhoâre you supposed to do?â
@hcartsandminds
The Underworld seemed like a fun place to visit and if there was one thing Riley enjoyed most, it was fun. Besides fighting, but who was to say that a girl couldnât have varied interests? The majority of Rileyâs probably werenât the best interests, but like hell she would ever give up fighting, gambling and apparently visiting the Underworld. Thank god she knew Kier a bit, too, thanks to their asshole fathers. (Deadbeat dads always hung around each other, Riley had noticed throughout the years.) That being said, itâd been a few years since Riley had last spoken to Kier. Their relationship had been short, just the way Riley typically liked them, and had ended abruptly⊠also the way Riley preferred commitment. It was always like ripping off a bandaid, that way nothing hurt too badly at the end.
Ignoring all of their history, Riley turned up outside of Kierâs bedroom and knocked on the door a couple of times. Once he answered, she offered him a small smile. He was still hot, but Riley hadnât missed the uptake that he found his soulmate. Besides, she was preoccupied with other people⊠well, one person technically. âHey,â Riley greeted. âWanna take me to the Underworld? I think itâd be a fun outing,â she informed Kier. âPlus, Mount Olympus is a little boring.â
@writefcrjoy
The whole shadow powers thing was a little confusing and honestly, Riley wasnât entirely sure how to use them. Every time they arose, it was instinctual, but now that she realized that she was Enyo, Goddess of War, Riley wanted to master them. Through her memories, she knew what she was capable of, and she could recognize the swell of power, but memory alone didnât give her strategy. That was exactly how she ended up in a big chamber, filled with mats and weapons, alongside Alex.
âDo you think itâd hurt if I encompassed someone all in shadow?â Riley asked Alex curiously, examining the ball of blackness in her hand. No light could penetrate it, and the closer she was to the shadow, the more it felt like it belonged to her, exactly as the ring had. âApparently I can move through shadows, too,â she added, glancing around the room. There were distinct patches of darkness and idly, Riley wondered how it would feel if she transported between the two. âSo, you wanna fight now, Alex?â There was no use in wasting time! Besides, if memory served correctly, Ares had trained Enyo originally. Who said history didnât repeat itself?

Planes were the worst thing in the world, Asher was positive, and he was pretty sure that Hudson was trying to punish him for wanting to bottom a few nights ago! Some nights Asher just really wanted to be fucked and if Hudson had an issue with it, Asher was never going to teleport him to another cool beach.
âDude, why did you wanna take a plane when we can just teleport?â Asher asked, folding his arms across his chest as the plane began taking off. Truthfully, it was his first time in a plane, heâd always relied on his speed for transportation.
âThis is so slow,â he complained after a moment of Hudson not replying. âWanna join the mile high club then I can teleport us there?â He asked, waggling his eyebrows.
âDude,â Hudson replied, âThatâs such a great idea!â

Caelum loved playing pranks on the ship. If Avery were anything like Georgie, they would probably be a bit more successful, but she was nowhere near as dramatic. Rather than yelling and screaming and fussing about where the hell Caelum had put the extra batteries for their oven â yeah, ship life wasnât very glamorous â Avery decided to go and find Caelum. It wasnât like he said no to her very often! Especially not now that they werenât sleeping with other people. Did that make them a couple? Avery wasnât entirely sure, but their relationship was pretty much constantly complicated.
âHey Caelum,â Avery said, leaning against the doorjamb of his quarters. âWhereâs the batteries for the oven?â She asked curiously.
âIâll never tell,â Caelum said immediately.
A smile crossed Averyâs face at that and she allowed one of the straps of her shirt to fall to the side. âIâll take my shirt off if you tell me,â she told Caelum, stepping forward so the door closed behind her. Avery loved Georgie way too much to force him to observe her stripping. When Caelum looked up, Avery added, âAnd if youâre lucky, Iâll take everything else off, too.â
âI hid the batteries underneath the couch,â Caelum replied.
With a grin, Avery removed her shirt as promised, kissed Caelumâs cheek and then said, âAfter dinner!â She was way too hungry to consider fucking Caelum right this second. He required a lot of energy.

âDo you trust me?â
âHow did you escape?â
âIs that blood behind your ear?â
âTake. This. Off. â
âWhatâs in it for me?â
âWhatâs in it for you?â

It was hard to imagine anyone having been prepared for what the world had to offer. Mal had apparently been some kind of doomsday prepper before all this, and even he was a nervous wreck now that the apocalypse was up and running. Sofia hadnât been prepared in any way, had only survived for as long as she had thanks to dumb luck and the help of her friends. Plenty of people more capable of survival than her had died thanks to stupid mistakes and unlucky circumstances, while people far less capable than she was would likely outlive her due to the opposite. It was the way of the world now, the brutal truth. It wasnât the strongest who survived, and it sure as hell wasnât the meek whoâd inherited the Earth â it was the fortunate. Or maybe the unfortunate, considering the way the world was. Maybe the ones whoâd died right in the beginning were the ones they should all be envious of. Theyâd never have to see the world the way it was now, never have to run for their lives from a hoard of zombies. Sofia wasnât hopeless enough to envy the dead just yet, but if things went on this way? It could happen. She knew that.
Having Margot around helped. Her girlfriend felt like a shining light in a pitch black darkness, like a saving grace in the middle of a hopeless storm. Margot kept her sane, kept her relatively happy even in their odd situation. Sure, it kind of sucked not being able to make out with her girlfriend in public, but that didnât matter much at the end of the day! It was moments like this, with Margot sneaking into her room late at night for a quiet conversation, that made it all worthwhile. She snuggled up close as Margot slipped into bed, resting her head on her girlfriendâs shoulder. âMe, too,â she agreed with a smile. There was nothing that made her happier than time spent with Margot, even given their situation. âI donât even think actual babies are sleeping like babies in this mess,â Sofia snorted. Anyone who slept peacefully through the night had to be insane. Sofia was terrified all the time, and she knew she wasnât the only one. The world was a scary, scary place now, there was no way around that. Considering the question, Sofia furrowed her brow thoughtfully. âI think Iâd want to help people still,â she said. âMe and you would get an apartment together, secrecy be damned. We could have a cat. I think Iâd go back to the police force, maybe. Or⊠help rebuild. If⊠When this ends, I think weâll be doing a lot of that, you know? Rebuilding everything that got all fucked up. What about you?â In her totally unbiased opinion, Margot was always destined for greatness. That wouldnât be any different once the world was getting back to its feet. âMmm, I wouldnât mind sleeping with you,â she grinned, nudging Margot playfully.Â
Optimism wasnât exactly the easiest thing in the world to achieve. Honestly, Margot was pretty fucking pissed about the whole situation! Zombies werenât supposed to exist, the walking dead was for horror movies and dystopian novels, but here they were. The only bright side at the end of the tunnel was the fact that most fashion designers who had given her a run for her money before were probably dead for when everything went back to normal. She had to believe that things would be restored to safety, that the world would go on, otherwise fighting to survive seemed kind of pointless. God, the world was bleak these days. No wonder she was angry! Without the Henshawâs, Margot doubted that she would have even initially survived â she had no real survival skills. Scouting pretty much just required light footsteps and a fast run, and scavenging just required common sense, all of which Margot mostly had. She was worthless in an apocalypse, just an extra body, and fuck, this was getting worse by the second. Hope was necessary! Margot could be hopeful. One day, sheâd have her own fashion line, the zombies would be humans and Sofia would be her hot girlfriend publicly.
With Sofia in her arms and the thought of them potentially being together for all the world to know, Margot calmed down a little bit. It wasnât much, but it was enough to relax in their embrace and as Sofia snuggled up closer to her, Margot kissed her forehead. The morality of the whole âdating her best friendâs sisterâ thing was pretty irrelevant in moments like this. She couldnât imagine being alone, couldnât imagine not having Sofiaâs present to look forward to, and wasnât that what mattered? Even if it was selfish, that was what Margot was focusing on. âThatâs pretty gay of you,â Margot teased, the fondness evident in her tone. At least she could still make jokes about their sexuality! Not all hope was lost. âI hope that the babies can at least sleep for a couple minutes. Theyâre cute, they gotta be protected,â Margot said lightly. Frankly, the idea of children were kind of horrific in the apocalypse, but they had to be out there. As Sofia considered her question, Margot twisted a strand of her girlfriendâs hair around her finger. âI would love to get an apartment with you,â she replied, pressing a tender kiss to Sofiaâs lips. âYou could do both,â she pointed out. âI bet the police force would have a team dedicated to rebuilding, right? Weâd need that,â she pointed out. âIâd keep working on a line or maybe open a gallery where people could like⊠vent their frustration and losses,â she said, shrugging a shoulder. âLet people have emotions about this, yâknow? I think weâll need that,â she said thoughtfully. âItâs not very humanitarian, but itâs what I love.â Margot didnât have to justify her passion to Sofia, she knew, but she tried anyway. âSleeping with me? Gross, why would you want that?â Margot teased.
