I feel like this is just my radiohusk heart speaking rn, but theres always been something about this scene that reads to me moreso as heartbreak/betrayal, than Husk being upset he lost his soul/casino.

The sad tilt to his eyes, the confused point, the pinned down wings. Husk looks so hurt. Not like his pride and ego was damaged and he lost everything. This reads to me like a friendly game that very quickly turned serious, and violent on Alastor's end.

Husk's reaction really reminds me of Vox's reaction after The Breakup, too. Like he thought he and Alastor were friends (and maybe something more complicated), and Al very lovingly reminded him that no the fuck they ain't with a leash and a shitty deal.

I truly am never giving up my Rebound hc. I really do feel in my heart that it's accurate to believe that Alastor's reaction to Vox was believing the problem wasn't that he's an asshole, or that communication is important and maybe if he just met Vox halfway, maybe they'd still be together. No. His take away was that he gave Vox too much freedom and too much humanity. So the next time he finds someone that he likes, actively enjoys the company of, and finally feels safe enough to share his secrets and vulnerable spots with, he doesn't take that risk again. And makes sure Husk can't leave him or twist the relationship dynamic out of Alastor's complete control.

radiohusk's dynsmic goes so fucking crazy. control freak alastor who's only comfortable in relationships where he holds one hundred percent of the power slash the only former overlord he's ever decided to keep alive. who he lets get away with near constant backtalk while ocasionally making sure to remind him he's not free and any lenience he has is because alastor gracefully allows it to him and that it could be revoked at any moment. because husk is not a person, he's alastor's pet.

the idea that alastor is lonely but will not allow himself to be vulnerable enough to form a true bond with something of an equal (not after what happened last time) and the way to circumvent that is instead to get that camraderie with a person who's soul he owns and has total control over. no trust needed, no compromises. comfort zone secured
