Deltarune in the Splatoon Universe

Welcome to Splatrune!

This blog is a centered around the idea of the story of deltarune set in the splatoon universe. This au is still in development stages, but so far the basics are that humans are inklings, monsters are octarians, and darkners are salmonids.

Expect this post to be updated more as we develop our au! :)

This blog is jointly run by two mods: Mod HR and Mod Petz!

Mod HR (no pronouns or they/them) is the primary artist (and occasional writer) of the blog. Mod HR's main blog is @coolfire333. Mod HR loves talking about the addisons and finds salmonids very fascinating.

Mod Petz (she/her) is the primary writer of the blog. She is a huge Spamton/Tenna and Agent 24 enthusiast and her favorite splatoon gamemode is salmon run. She is also a fan of pokemon and ghost trick.

Rough concepts for Kris, Susie and Ralsei (more polished art hopefully coming soon).

The whole "forced to live underground while another species took the surface" thing with the octarians and inklings was very reminiscent of the relationship between monsters and humans in undertale to us. Additionally, the salmonids are an initially misunderstood and "disposable" species in splatoon lore similar to how darkners are treated in deltarune.

Kris and Susie's designs were simple enough translation (maybe they should wear their dark world clothes in a battle though?) while Ralsei's salmonid design was based off a goldie :)

Initial rough concept for Spamton and Tenna as salmonids (featuring a regular chum on the left for scale) as well as a more polished and slightly updated spamtenna piece.

Spamton is a king salmonid due to his nature in deltarune as a secret boss, while Tenna is a regular boss salmonid. Spamton's attack would involve spawning a large amount of small fry near the players in an attempt to overwhelm them. Tenna could have maybe been a king salmonid similar to Horrorboros in another life but was too fragile to make the cut.

Their story in the splatoon universe is still a wip but so far we think they'd be relatively popular in salmonid culture as idols, with their own tv show and everything!
