It was just another night I gazed at the stars Infinite and oh so bright Then came a shooting star Into my mind came Not a wish to make But your name For no oneâs sake
Now that years have passed since the first, and so far, the last time I saw a shooting star, I still wonder why my mind whispered your name instead of a wish. Was it because the star passed by too quickly for me to even think of what to wish? Or was it because you were always at the tip of my tongue that time?
Nevertheless, I just realized something: you and the shooting star are alike in many ways.
The shooting star came to my sight at night when darkness covered the sky; you came into my life when I was miserable and surrounded by darkness.
The shooting star passed by and left a smile on my face; you made me laugh when our âorbitsâ overlapped.
A shooting star comes and goes in just the blink of an eye, but I still caught sight of it; people come and go so fast, but we were able to meet and get to know each other.
And just like the shooting star, you and I are distantâŚ
It makes sense now.
You are the shooting star, long gone and off to somewhere Iâll never be.
Oh yes, it makes sense now.
You were just passing by, my shooting star.
