When Charlie looks at Hael, the only word that comes to mind is ‘cute’. Always cute. She’s small and dainty and has such bright eyes and a pale face. Not that Charlie’s much taller than her, only an inch or so, but Charlie’s aware she makes more of a presence than Hael, usually. And Hael takes to pretty dresses and classy cardigans, while Charlie likes her plaid and graphic tees.

Anyway, Hael’s cute. Even with - no, especially with a purple strap-on around her crotch.

Review: I’ll be honest with you guys: I will rarely review pwps here, mostly because I find most of them trite and they don’t interest me. However, this fic is great. It’s cute and awkward and also definitely hot.

Summary: In which Ruby is a good Catholic girl, and Anna is a troublemaker who rides a motorbike to school. Ruby’s never broken a rule in her life, but she’s about to find out what happens when you step outside the lines.

Review: Too often these days, in fanfic Ruby is depicted as the bad girl who deflowers perfect angel Anna Milton. But this fic. Oh, goodness, this fic delivers the exact opposite, and it is beautiful. It is perfect. It is probably the best AnnaRuby fic out there.

Slow Spinning Redemption by affectingly (ao3) Main pairing: Ruby/Jo 8,114 words, rated nc17

Summary: It’s all bullshit now, her ideas about hunting, about life and romance and honor. Knowing that is Jo’s first step.

Review: Interesting idea! I would have loved to see this developed more - as it is, you kind of wonder how Jo got to where she is, why she’s doing what she’s doing. Ruby can read Jo’s mind, and that soured me a little, but that’s just personal preference. I love the OC in this.

When You Catch a Werewolf on Camera by story_monger (ao3) Main pairing: Cassie/Kate 18,771 words, rated PG

Summary: Life is strange. One minute you’re on a perfectly regular assignment for work, the next you’re dealing with a short, blond werewolf who is alternatively threatening and endearing. That’s not even mentioning the strange deaths that might present more of a danger than either you or said werewolf can properly handle. And here Cassie thought she’d left the supernatural weirdness behind with the Winchesters.

Review: Wonderful, wonderful!! Kate’s and Cassie bantering is a beautiful thing to witness. The entire story feels organic and plausible. Sometimes this kind of story can be forced and weird, but not this one. It is appropriately tender, and frightening, and frustrating when it needs to be. The only thing is sometimes it feels like Kate is older than Cassie, and that Cassie is maybe in her twenties instead of her thirties, but when a work is written as well as this one, you find yourself not caring.
