i don’t stress enough how nasty Aker’s voice is really meant to be. it’s hard to describe or find anything that has a voice similar to what I imagine hers would be like, but it’s very similar to this. The last attack noise especially. There’s no dialogue but you get the gist of it. it’s very growly and rough. 

Besides being huge and part dragon, Aker also has some nodules in her vocal chords which makes her voice grosser. She tries not to yell to much because it hurts her throat tho. she has to get really worked up to really yell. and it’s terrifying when she does cuz u know ur ass is about to get beat.

various ways aker holds her pups and also some pup grooming and then a squeaky pup and a sleepy pup. for the headshot one of her holding the pup in her mouth, her lips pull down over her teeth, and a dragon’s jaws can actually be incredibly gentle. this tends to freak non-dragon ppl out when they see a dragon with a pup in their mouth like that. 

every time i draw dragon aker i make her scales lighter.

when aker’s with her pups, she tends to keep her size pretty small, like maybe about horse sized. here, her pups are fairly big, like maybe the size of a small dog or a fat cat. they feel like fat cats but without all the fur. and with extra sharp claws and teeth.

breastfeeding pups that have their teeth is a nightmare.

dragon aker in a saddle meant for riding without wings!! Aker actually has a shed beside her house that has different types of saddles and bridles for herself! This one is meant for just running around on land. The ones for flying are a bit thinner and have straps to attach to the rider, and a different bridle. Its also more on her neck than her back. Working on aker’s dragon body shape too. P happy with this one. Tail’s a little big tho.

fun fact: In most Luxortian dialects, “ch” is pronounced as “hhh,” but like with y'know, emphasis???? it’s hard to explain it? ithink? i keep thinking of how in Portuguese they give a specific kind of “HHHH” to that sound GHHH (i dont know portuguese btw, but my mom knows some and ive heard her speak some before and heard her say it) 

it usually kind of carries over in Aker’s accent too, so she misses the “ch” sounds in english words fairly often btw

Fun fact: in Aker’s clan, long hair is seen as a sign of power. The longer it is, the higher the rank and the more powerful the person. High positions of power like the queen had hair that pooled on the floor. Low ranking persons like slaves or princes had short hair. Banished people had their hair completely shaved. Aker’s mother, Sekhmet, has a large Mohawk. She’s the second only queen in the clan’s history to not have incredibly long hair, but her choice is accepted because it is not a common hair style among the clan members and because she is a very influential and strong queen.

The other queen was long before Sekhmet, and she shaved her head in a show of anger and rebellion against the corrupt rulers of Angora. It sparked outrage among the Luxortian people and further encouraged them to go to war. Angora’s had a lot of issues with corrupt rulers and dictators taking over.

Aker keeps her hair very long for this reason. She’d let it go past her knees, but does not feel worthy because her clan is broken up and her mother is still alive, which means she’s technically not queen. She had a rough time in the labs when she was being experimented on, and part of it was humiliation from having her hair forcibly cut very short, which is basically a pretty huge insult and way to demean someone in her culture.

She keeps her pets and slaves’ hair fairly short because they’re slaves and have low rank.

Fun fact 2: dragon hair is not made of all the same parts as human hair and is fire proof! In the Luxort military, they had helmets similar to a Graeco-Roman Centurion helmet, but with space to pull their hair through instead of a red plume. They’d then set it on fire as they go off into war. It looks cool, can be used as a weapon, and it makes them look pretty intimidating.

so me and jack have been talking about little six year old aker a lot and have decided she does not need to be a constantly angry child

((various old drawings of aker. the first two are younger teenage aker as a human in some luxortian outfit, and the second is from a sort of modern au i have with a friend where she wears a hat to hide her big ears so she can go to school.

the last one is an au i have with that same friend where Aker’s clan wasn’t attacked, and she became queen. Luxortian crowns are cool. She also wears a cape that’s long as fuck. Most royalty wore robes like that.

-Being part dragon, Aker has an extremely strong and acidic stomach, and can digest most any kind of food, including rotten meat, meat from a sick animal/person, and dirty water. She avoids eating rotten food though, because it tastes nasty. 

Because of this, she normally eats the bones of any animal or human she kills. Eating bones also strengthens her own bones, teeth, and horns.
