Sclera, they/them, traveling trainer from Galar, local cryptid, and collector of obscure knowledge. Please ask me things about Pokémon, mythology, and mythology about Pokémon. Chances are I will have a lot to say! [Pokémon irl rp blog]
Hello! I'm Sclera, a traveling trainer from Galar with an interest in mythology, Legendaries, and all manner of unusual happenings.
I don't want this post to get too long, so I'll put a quick rundown of my team and any other relevant information under the cut.
Olwyn is a Unovan Zoroark, and the first Pokémon I ever caught. They're a lot less shy than you'd expect from a Zoroark-line 'mon, and capable of both incredible shenanigans and incredible sweetness.
Popcorn is a Whimsicott. He's an absolute menace whom I love dearly. His floof is full of mysteries and his mind is full of schemes.
Wander is a Golisopod. He's a very friendly boy who loves scritchies and going for swims. He can and has carried me like a sack of potatoes.
Serras is an Aegislash. He's a very polite 'mon, though he is prone to literal worried hovering. He's also not a big fan of touch.
Herrah is a Mimikyu. She prefers to keep busy, whether through training, working on a massive quilt, or riding around on my shoulders and making friends.
Isolde is a Cursola. (For those unfamiliar, Cursola is the evolution of Galar's regional Corsola variant.) She's a bit shy, but sweet and surprisingly mischievous once you get to know her.
//OOC information
Both muse and mun are 18+, but would prefer to keep the blog SFW.
Open to interactions with other PKMN irl blogs at any time!
I tend to approach the matter of Pokémon intelligence similarly to the anime, with some added lore treating them like magical creatures with all the strange rules that entails. If you wanna know more about how something works, just ask!
I'll try to keep things lore-neutral, though I will be referencing the events of the mainline games, with a few bits from side-games I find interesting. I also tend to treat some game mechanics - namely EXP, levels, base stats, and move statistics - as in-universe ways of quantifying abstract concepts in Pokémon battling. Competitive battling jargon, more or less. If something doesn't work for your lore, feel free to ignore it.
I just witnessed someone get beaned in the face by a stray Hoppip, gently peel it off and toss it back into the wind, then immediately collide with another windblown Hoppip.
people often think i'm doing it for the bit but unfortunately i Am the type of guy who just says shit like "pray tell" and "indeed" and "naught but the human heart can hope to capture the moon's beauty" (that was actually about my shitty phone camera) and nobody really knows what to do when they hear those words come out of my mouth. myself included.
genuinely fucked up that if i want to interact with someone online i have to say words and have a conversation instead of just mashing my face against them like a cat

A Cramorant only has one emotion, and that is hubris. Nothing else can fit in its tiny brain.
Oh, this red string you see wrapped around my finger? You're asking if it connects me to my one true love? An understandable mistake, but I'm aromantic. This is for my conspiracy board.
The conspiracy board isn't my soulmate either, by the way. I'm not a soulmate kind of gal, and neither is my conspiracy board. We both prefer a tangled web of self-discovered meaning over any specific label. But oh, wait — is your conspiracy board your soulmate? That's cool, for real. So much diversity in the aromantic conspiracy theorist experience.
