Camiguin Island Part 2
The day was not yet over for us, part of our package tour is the accommodation at Paras Beach Resort, although I donāt know other resorts in the island, I have to say itās one good place to rest and have fun! Definitely going to recommend to all of you, with complimentary welcome juice and fruits, Nice! Our room was huge and comfy. Complete with toiletries, bath and beach towels, robes, etc. good service and accommodating staffs. No time to waste though, after 20 minutes rest, we are again off to different places as part of the island tour, but first, we had a stopover at Cafe 1914 where we had the so called best āHalo-Halo in townā, my review in a different post. Up next is the Katibawasan Falls, upon entering the area, you can feel the cold breeze of the falls, and what a sight!, it is located at the foot of Mt. Timpoong, Barangay Upper Pandan, approximately five kilometers southeast of the Municipality of Mambajao. According to the town folks, the waterfalls relatively measures 250 feet high down-rushing into a man-made rock pool. Time to take cool and fun photos, funny thing is, all of us did not dare to swim because the water is cold, 2x colder than that of the cold spring, I guess? Pose here and pose there, nice experience though! What Iām really excited about is the Ardent Hot Springs, and thatās our next stop, the place was a bit crowded, but overall itās a good place to swim and relax. We plunged into the different pools and tested the waters, as you go down the area, the warmer it gets. I definitely want to go back there when I have a chance to visit the island again. Back to our resort, dinner first then took a bath, relaxed, chill and hangout with friends. Best times indeed!
Woke up at 6am, then off to the famous White Island Sandbar at Camiguin. A 15 minutes boat ride from our resort. I suggest go there early morning for sunrise or at sunset, because there are no shades and trees, itās a bare island, love the beach!! with the Mt. Hibok-Hibok as the background, here we got to experience the best of the best! Took several cool photos, and had a chance to swim in a very cool and unique setting. Never ever leave Camiguin without visiting the Sandbar ok?
Next stop is the Mantigue Island, hmmm first impression of the island is that the powdery sand is quite nice to feel and touch. Although experiencing it is another story, hahaha, well, we had our lunch there and we went out for a good swim! Good? Hmmm I guess not. The place was fairly kempt within local standards. If you're expecting western amenities, clean restrooms, showers and crystal clear waters for snorkeling and dip, this isn't your place⦠will I go back? maybe not. After that, time to go back to Cagayan De Oro, another travel for the 9 of us. Exhausting! but looking back, I LOVE CAMIGUIN ISLAND.

Camiguinās KIPING
Kiping is one of unique delicacy found at Camiguin. It is made from dried sweet potatoes, grounded, mixed with water then fried. This thin, crispy, 10 pesos food can be a desert or a snack during your tour around the Island. It is big as a medium-size plate drizzled with "latik", a sweet caramelized coconut sauce but not so sweet. This delicacy is a must try when in Camiguin. Iāve tried it and all I can say is, itās just a so so!, but you gotta try it.

Camiguin Island Part 1
An early travel for all of us, coz we are off to the little Island āborn of fireā The beautiful Camiguin. How to get here? From CDO, we took a van ride I guess itās an hour and a half to two hours ride before we got to Balingoan Port and from there, we rode a Roro to Benoni Port in Camiguin, another hour and a half travel phew!
Finally!
Thanks to Java Phil Travel and Tours, special mention to Nicole JaudianJ they have made our tour to the island easy and packed with tourist hot spots and activities, our lineup destinations are the following: we visited the Rose Garden (want a good view and nice photo session? Then go here!), Sagay Oldest Church (preserved and a little bit odd for a church, but hey itās a good place to reflect while on vacation) and Ruvicās Pirate Boat (nothing much to do but to take photos and feel the breeze of the sea) then we went to Sto. Nino Cold Spring where we saw the CMA team with their students who are also on tour, from PHINMA AU headed by Dean Emmie, hello CMA!). My friends took a dip into that cold spring, as for me, I had a hard time because the water is soooo damn cold, not my thing! Haha but eventually after a good internalization, I went in and plunge myself into the water! We had our lunch there; Iāll be separating my FOOD reviews in another post so make sure to stay tuned! We also visited the Old Church Ruins (1871 Volcanic eruption made this century old half-exposed remnants of the Guiob church ruins, one of the Island's and Philippine historical tourist spot. Things you can do: Take pictures. Pray at the chapel. Light up candles inside the chapel). Off to Sunken Cemetery (You have an option if you would just take pictures from the viewing deck or hire a small boat to go to the actual cross. 6 of us went to the cross, thereās not really a lot to do there but you can take a lot of nice pictures. The tour guides will serve as your official photographer and they will instruct you how to pose. Cool though! But for the 3 us, we just stayed at the deck, hmm itās kinda creepy for us haha) Next is the Walkway to the Old Volcano and the Stations of the Cross (because we are kinda tired already, we just had a group photo at the ground, some of us tried to climb but eventually came back because itās really high! Haha)

Oh Sunday!
I really need a day between Saturday and Sunday!
1st activity for our CDO adventure was the River Rafting! A 45 min. Jeepney ride from the city proper. The guides oriented us first for instructions and guidelines then Gears on! Paddles ready! High five and off we go!
If you have no experience of this before, WE RECOMMEND YOU DO IT WHEN IN CDO! If I remember it correctly they have more than 20 rapids during the whole ride! You will love the sights and the water with matching āmakukulit at funny na bangkerosā they really know how to entertain their guests! A+ for their efforts haha
Even though its a season of drought, we still had a very good experience. Good ride I must say! Tiring but worth it! Would love to do it again and again Thank you CDO for this adventure :)Ā
CDO is the place to be! love the people and the city! I want to go back there, Thank you Dean Manny for the night city tour! I definitely appreciated the gesture!Ā
