Hungarian GP Qualifying : Hamilton Takes Pole as he plays games with Red Bull.
Lewis Hamilton took a dominant pole position for Hungarian Grand Prix beating second-place man Valtteri Bottas by three tenths, with Max Verstappen a tenth further back in third.
The seven-time champion went quickest with his first effort, setting a 1:15.419, and still took pole despite failing to improve on his second effort.
Verstappen did go quicker second time around but was still only fast enough for third on the grid, four tenths back, and will start on soft tyres after going with that set in Q2. Bottas will separate the two rivals, a solid effort from the Finn who has been in the mix all weekend.
Sergio Perez starts fourth but failed to set a second time at all after crossing the start line too late, the result of what looked like a slow out lap by Hamilton ahead of the Red Bull pair.
It was a really smart move by Mercedes as they know Verstappen and Perez will not Overtake them and they used that but Max was able to put a second effort though he improved but remained 3rd but as for Sergio Perez he looked frustrated out their as he couldn't make it to the line for a second effort because of Mercedes so called "slow out lap". Lewis Hamilton was looking to the mirror every second of that out lap.
Fifth on the grid was Alpha Tauri's Gasly as I mentioned in my previous post that Gasly will improve on positions but for his team mate Yuki Tsunoda it was a forgetting session as he managed only P16 on the grid and it will be difficult for him to be in points as it is really hard to overtake in Hungary. Though Gasly can aim for a Podium Finish.
For Mclaren it was not their best qualifying day as Norris finished 6th and his team mate Daniel Ricciardo finished 11th for tomorrow. Though analyzing the performance Daniel is likely to be in the points as he never disappoints at Race Day as it could be again a double points finish for Mclaren.
As of Ferrari, Leclerc just took out every thing of the car and gave his everything to finish a good 7th position though he will be starting on the softs. But his team mate Carlos Sainz crashed in Q2 and he could only manage P15 though he has a free tyre choice and as of recent races Ferrari's race pace looks strong so they will to be hoping for double points finish.
As for Alpine they had a great qualifying session as both the drivers will start 8th and 9th respectively. Alonso was in his prime form and it was good to see Ocon back in form as he finished 8th above his fellow team mate Alonso who finished 9th. They will look to continue their form and will be hoping to climb more places and finish as higher as possible.
About Aston Martin Sebastian Vettel did his best and finished 10th on the grid but it will be disadvantage for him as behind him all the drivers' will be on free tyre choice including his team mate Lance Stroll. So he should gain couple of places in the opening laps to keep his car in the points.
Williams driver George Russell who is called Mr. Saturday couldn't make it to Q2 as he finished 17th above his team mate Latifi who will start 18th tomorrow. Williams pace was not good enough to make it to Q2 and even if they had got everything out of the car they would have barely made it to Q2 and would have finished 15th.
