I know I was deceptively quiet about it, but I'm actually obsessed with this video! It's like watching a dog and a cat interact after slowly becoming friends. I mean, the quality's ass, so this is just my personal interpretation, but it looks like Carlos is soooo giddy and gleeful, finally welcoming Oscar into his close F1 bro-friend bubble by initiation ritual of being an annoying ass to him, and Oscar just... doesn't react at all. Like, it's unclear if he even realized Carlos had done it on purpose. So he's either going "Ok, there's no way Carlos just did that to me. Gotta act cool and unfazed" in his head, or the more rpf-pilled cat/dog reaction of "The fact that I'm ignoring this instead of literally scratching your face off means I like you back".

It's just so funny to me, after watching every video of Oscar that's ever been recorded, because it's just so clear that he does not speak that language! He tried once, probably after consuming too much Carlando content, but it just turned out awkward and he's never tried again (until literally two weeks ago, when he was so high on the home-race-induced zoomies, he got cheeky enough to spray one corner of Lando's painting a bit). Even funnier: Other people don't really do this to Oscar either! Sure, you have the whole broken ribs and bruised behind moment after Oscar won Saudi(?) last year, but that was the exception. Lando has never really been like that with Oscar in their normal day-to-day. Throwing a paper ball at his head is the most physically annoying thing I can recall him doing (and to that, as well, Oscar only responds verbally). Oh, and of course Lando also got the home-race-induced zoomies on the Silverstone fanstage last year! (And the lesser-home-race-induced mini-zoomies in Belgium). And in all those instances, Oscar knows his only job is to laugh and and look fond.

Which leads to the question... How exactly does Carlos expect Oscar to respond to his negging? It's not really an action one can laugh and look fond about, or comment on in a sarcastic way. But does Carlos really expect Oscar Piastri of all people to get into a teasing scuffle with him in the middle of the driver's parade? Is he holding on tight to the railing the entire drive, expecting to be tripped up in retaliation when he least expects it? Or did the sun just shine in his face at exactly the wrong angle so he thought he was interacting with Lando the entire time? It's just baffling to me! And so very carcar, to its core.
