not only do i headcanon leafpool as a lesbian but i'll always take it a step further and say that there is genuine (albiet unintentional, obviously) canon backing for it which is more than most can say for their headcanons, myself included

i go back and forth on my personal interpretation of starclan and the level of autonomy that cats are afforded there. them existing as flawed individuals rather than a monolith is of course very important but i also feel the need to create some kind of explanation for all of the out of character behavior and how quickly and uniformly they assimilate into their new roles. both could easily be a result of social pressure but part of me does find a more cosmically horrifying explanation appealing in its own way.. much to think about

#im trying to put more of my thoughts in the actual post instead of leaving them in the tags <- proceed to watch me not do that #i feel like a crucial part of many cat tragedies for those characters who are more enlightened is the idea that their #reunion with their loved ones in starclan is not a completely positive prospect to them because #of how much ones identity and lived experience is warped in the afterlife #“will it even be us anymore”#but i dont know how married i am to this idea as far as it being a result of some external or abstractly physical force that functions #separately from the ordinary social conditioning of the living cats

HELLO everyone! After a year of hard work, the PATFW MAP “Lost Kitten” is finally finished! Please give all the artist who worked on this a lot of love, I am very proud of how it turned out. I think it makes for a sweet send-off to the comic (nearly 4 years after it began!).

i understand why the fire scene/po3 ashfur is often depicted this way as ashfur as a character is very easy to make fun of and use comedically and the majority of comparisons that would bring these aspects of him out the best are correlated with younger people but i do feel we are losing awareness of the fact that he was long fully grown in the arc and the scene. he was grown at the start of the arc beforehand! this is a middle aged man! he’s terrifying!

this is a large part of why red-streaked emo ashfur as always bothered me because if anyone his fear factor is what should be being played up for a faithful reconstruction of the scene. this isn’t akin to you reading a fourteen year old’s bad and melodramatic poetry, it’s you nodding your head along as your abusive father rants to you about his qanon conspiracy theories because you know if you don’t he’ll hurt you. it’s a man who asked you out at a bar following you out and lamenting to you while holding you at knifepoint after you turned him down. he is well into his adulthood and appears entirely normal to those around him - something that explicitly makes him more of a threat to the characters in the text, who doubt anyone would believe them if they came out about his actions. he’s well-liked, conservative, and holds social power over the people he’s threatening.
