hdzhhwwbke I think Leona would have the tact to phrase the question differently⊠less crudely, knowing Raven might be put-off by certain word choices đ€ Like maybe heâd reframe it as âWhatâs your favorite aspect of a person?â Trying to put his feelers out there and gauge if heâs her âtypeâ. Perhaps heâs expecting a superficial answer, like a body part she likes heâs confident in his chest and arms, a skill she favors, or the kind of fashion she prefers on a man.

When you want to show an emotion instead of naming it
When dialogue alone feels flat
When you need subtext (what they wonât say out loud)
When two characters feel differently than the words theyâre speaking
When you want to make a scene more sensory and grounded
Are they really calm, or is their foot tapping like a warning signal?
Are they truly angry, or is it just the way their jaw tightens when theyâre hurt?
Are they saying âIâm fine,â but refusing to meet anyoneâs eyes?
Body language adds layers. It tells the truth when your characters wonât. It can add to the rage bubbling on their lips, letting the reader know when they're just about to blow up.
Use it intentionally, and your scenes will read less like conversations on a stage and more like real people breathing on the page.

"Liar..."
The direbeast let out soft snores as he got lost in his dreams, several papers beneath him, most of them unanswered, after the trouble he got himself in with Azul, he said he would work harder but you knew better than to expect him to change overnight.
Gently carrying Grim as to not wake him, you tucked him in the 'bed' you arranged on the floor, with the blankets and pillows Ruggie had given you earlier. Internally thanking Leona for allowing you both to crash in his room, though begrudgingly. Grim immediately got comfortable leaving you with a warmth in your heart, it was still quite early at night, but homework can make anyone sleepy.
Cleaning up on what he was working on "I'm pretty sure that isn't right..." you murmured at his writings and what you can only assume are solutions. After you gathered most of them in a neat pile, you noticed one last paper with terrible penmanship on the corner of the desk. Upon grabbing it, a black and white checkered box was underneath, putting the pile aside you inspect the box closer, turning on a desk lamp to see clearer. "Didn't know he played chess"
Curiosity got the better of you and with a small click you had opened the box, revealing multiple black and white pieces. Emptying it, you realized how weighted the pieces were, definitely nothing like the ones you've played with before, the board was smooth and well polished with some small gold accents to it. Goodness, this is definitely expensive.
The soft clacking noises, wasn't loud enough to wake, but enough to catch the attention of a prince quietly reading on his bed. He tore his gaze from the page, putting the book down and quietly observed the herbivore who placed pieces carefully on the board, letting out a soft scoff as he watched them align them perfectly.
"You play?" a deep voice from your side, he leaned on the desk fixing the misplaced king and queen. "I keep inerchanging them" you huffed watching his correction. "And yes, I do, but I'm no good, why wanna play?" your tone changing to a more intrigued one. "You just said you're no good, not much of a challenge for me" he yawned laying back down on his mattress.
"Oh c'mon!" you sit on the edge of his bed carrying the board. "It's for fun" you lay it down beside him, "Go to sleep herbivore" he covered his eyes with his arm, "It's still 8:30, and i won't stop asking you until you agree" the thought of not being able to rest peacefully had him sitting upright while grumbling complaints. "Whatever gets you off my back" his tone never really hitting deep as his ears and tail betray him, showing amusement to his favorite game.
5 rounds in, you were on a losing streak, the silence and tension only seeming to bother you and not him, move after move, he'd capture your pieces without mercy. Even going as far as to chase your king despite knowing he could end the match with one move just to see you panic (jerk). The entire game he was entertained by your expressive nature, how you weren't able to conceal a single thought from him.
The way your brows furrowed in thought, your fingers fidget uncontrollably as he moves a piece, your eyes scanning for any opening and gap in his plan, and the way your breathing pattern changes under stress. He was relaxed, and even happy? Both of you had completely lost track of time as the game went on.
"Checkmate"
"What?!"
You examined the board for confirmation, and he did in fact win. Again. Groaning in defeat, he had his signature smirk plastered on his face as he watched you get swallowed in your misery. His smirk faltered, seeing your tired eyes. "You got what you wanted, I'm done, go to bed herbivore it's late" he laid on his back, "What?! One more round and I swear I'll leave you alone" he sighed, about to refuse until he was met with your determined glare "Last one"
He propped on himself up on his elbow and waited until you got all the pieces back to their places. You move a pawn 2 spaces forward, he does the same, you move another pawn, setting it beside the previous white pawnâ
"Checkmate"
Placing his queen in a position that trapped your king, no other piece could save it, and for the 7th time, he won against you. "Wait, in the other rounds, did you purposefully delay your win?" he let out a soft chuckle as he turned his back against you "Wasn't difficult, you stress out on one piece so much you overlook the rest"
A soft smile found it's way to you, "I'm definitely making you teach me chess strategies" you gently put the pieces back in and returned the board on the desk. "Tch, you still need to learn to utilize all your pieces" "Oh? so you are teaching me?" you say with a sly tone. He snorts, "You desperately need it"
You make yourself confortable beside Grim, letting the peace envelop you. "Goodnight Leona" "Yeah, yeah, night herbivore..."
That moment where you already had an Aladdin OC when you first got into TWST before RSA was announced and you now realize that Minajael (or Minhaj if thatâs what you prefer) is fine asf-

Day 4 of Souyo Week: Backside of the TV/Living Together

(Note: This entry is kinda heavier than my other entries. It deals with mentions of blood, dead bodies, and death of your favorite characters. Don't worry. It's nothing too graphic. Regardless, if you are sensitive to any of these topics, please read with precaution.

The only sound that Yu could hear was the clock ticking in the corner of his room, and the only color he could see was yellow. Not the happy, sunshine yellow that the stripes on Chieâs jacket were. A sickly, disgusting, almost sulfur-like yellow that seemed to taint everything that it touched, including his bedroom. He had no idea how, but the fog had apparently invaded his home in the amount of time he wasted trying to stop Adachi. The fog was so thick at this point that Yu couldnât even see what was inside his room.
He turned and began to walk towards the curtained window. It had become almost a habit for Yu to push the curtains away and check outside whenever it was raining or foggy. In a way, the curtains were like a shield for him to not stress about the weather every time he stepped into his bedroom. However, it could also be a way for Yu to ignore everything that was going on outside if he really wanted to.
His hand brushed against the pleated fabric of the curtains before pushing them aside with one sweep of his hand. When he peered outside the window, his eyes couldnât even identify anything that was out there. Every house, every street, even the little garden that he started with nanako was completely covered by the fog. Hell, the plants were probably all dead by now because of it.
He quickly closed the curtains, desperately trying to avoid facing the reality of what was waiting for him beyond the Dojima residence. However, before he could even walk away from the window, a sharp migraine stopped him in his tracks. He groaned as he rubbed a hand onto his temple, but that did little to ease the throbbing pain. It was like a magic spell had caused his skull to suddenly squeeze around his brain or something. Thankfully, he was able to shake it off after a while, but it still made him feel uneasy.
His phone began to ring. Yu reached into his pocket, raising an eyebrow as he glanced at the caller ID. Naoto? Thatâs odd. Sheâs not usually the type to call people at this hour, especially for anything that wasnât important. Thereâs no way that this could be good. Yu held his breath as he flipped open his phone and held it up against his ear.Â
âTh-the entire townâŠItâs filled with ShadowsâŠI canât!â Naotoâs voice seemed desperate as her heavy breaths filled the space between each sentence, almost as if she was running from something.
âNaoto! Whatâs going on?â Yu questioned, his voice rising in volume as he tried to listen for any clues of what might be going on in the background. However, the only thing that he could hear was a bloodcurdling scream on the other end of a line.
A noise that he had never heard come out of Naotoâs mouth beforeâŠ
âNaoto?! NAOTO?! ANSWER ME! ARE YOU OKAY?!â
The only response he got was silenceâŠ
Yuâs phone hit the floor with a crack as his rapid footsteps thudded across the Dojima household. He couldnât put his shoes on fast enough before dashing out of the door and into Inaba. However, the fog was even thicker than he thought. He couldnât even breathe without coughing up a storm, let alone see. All that clouded his vision was yellow. Still, he ran through the streets of Inaba with the determination of a man on a mission, whipping his head around all sides in hopes of catching a glimpse of any sign of Naoto or his friends through the fog.
Finally, he heard a splash beneath his foot. He looked down, but what he saw made his heart fall directly onto the ground.Â
His shoe, a dark charcoal color, was suddenly stained a dark maroon on the bottom that stood out like a stop sign on the street, courtesy of the pool of blood below him. When he looked up, even through the fog, he could see that the once peaceful streets of Inaba were stained everywhere with blood. He could catch the silhouettes of dead bodies lying in grotesque positions in different areas of the shopping center. Areas where Yu remembered people hanging out at. People that he's spoken to many times beforeâŠÂ
His feet slowly trudged down the streets, forcing him to behold the results of the cursed fog against his will. It was dead silent. Nothing could be heard. Not the sounds of housewives talking about the errands that they needed to run as they gossiped. Not the cheers of kids playing at the shrine where the fox normally is. Not even the grumbling of the loud old man that stood beside the textile shop, usually complaining about one thing or the next. NoâŠall there was left was silence.
But those things just described werenât even the worst of it. What he saw next nearly made him throw up. After he walked for a bit, his foot eventually brushed against something that was resting on the street. He looked down and saw that laid at his feet were a bunch of accessories. Not just any accessories. Items that he had previously seen many times before. Items that were now stained with crimson.
A scratched-up pin with a smiley face that Chie always stuck on her jacket. A headband split in half that was usually on Yukikoâs head. A bullet necklace chipped at the corner that Kanji usually had around his neck. Only one of the pink pearl earrings that Rise wore. A ripped up newspaper boyâs hat that Naoto was never without. And a torn rose that Teddie swore to take good care of.
Yuâs breaths were heavy and his eyes wide with horror as he stared at the last remaining pieces of his precious friends. All of them, every single one, was gone. They were most likely in absolute agony as they were forced to face Shadows in a place where they thought they were safe from them. And Yu couldnât do anything to help them. Even when Naoto gave her final breaths to try to get him to help, he was still too late.Â
And yet, for a moment, he found a glimmer of hope. Yuâs eyes scanned across the items on the floor, trying to find anything that belonged to Yosuke, the first member of the Investigation Team. His partner. The person he promised to give his life to. There was no sign of him in the pile of broken remains.
âThere might still be a chance,â Yu thought as his eyes fought their hardest against the fog for any sign of his partner. âHe could still be out there. Maybe he escaped. We can fight the rest of the Shadows togetherâŠâ
Unfortunately, Yu then heard the sloshing of a shadow directly behind him, drawing any remaining hope he had. He slowly turned around to be faced with a dark void of a being. Not human. Not animal. Just a being made out of thick, black slime with long arms and glowing scarlet eyes. It stared at Yu for a moment, yet it didnât make a single lunge towards him. Instead, it just held a fist out towards him and let go of something. From its long, inky claws, something fell down and hit the ground with a clack. Headphones with orange and red ear cups. The very same ones that Yosuke woreâŠ
Yuâs wobbly knees couldnât handle everything anymore. They dropped to the ground, carrying his entire body with him. His shaky hands reached down to grab Yosukeâs precious headphones to look down upon them with teary eyes. The wire had been completely torn off. The orange paint of the ear cups was heavily chipped. The headband was cracked down the middle. They were destroyedâŠmost likely similar to how their owner was.
Droplets upon droplets of tears fell onto the headphones as Yu cradled them close to his chest. Yosuke was gone. All of his friends were gone. Every single last person that he loved was dead, all killed by the Shadows that committed Adachiâs crimes for him. And there was nothing that Yu could do to fix this. He couldnât catch Adachi in time. He couldnât protect his loved ones. He couldnât even save them from their demise against the Shadows.
He failedâŠin every possible wayâŠ

Yu gasped as he shot up from his bed into a sitting position, sweat sticking his hair and clothes to his body. His eyes darted around his bedroom to get a grip on his surroundings. The room was dark, with the only light being from the moon peaking through the blinds of the window next to him. There was a small bookshelf in the corner of the bedroom with familiar titles on it. Sherlock Holmes, Pride and Prejudice, Twilight, for some godforsaken reason, and all sorts of titles that Yu had dove to at some point or another. He glanced over at the bedside table to see a photograph of him and his friends on his last day in Inaba, all bright and smiling as they enjoyed each otherâs company for one last time.
Yu sighed in relief. Thank god, it was all just a horrible nightmare. There wasnât any reason to worry anymore. The danger had already passed. There were no more Shadows to fight. No more fog. Adachi had already been arrested and was sentenced to a lifetime in jail. Everyone was fine and alive. He wasnât even in Inaba anymore. He was living with Yosuke in an apartment that they agreed to rent together during their time at university. There was nothing to be afraid of.
As he was reminding himself about all of this, Yu could see out of the corner of his eye a light that was sneaking through the crack of his bedroom door. He raised his eyebrow before looking at the clock of his dresser.
11:59âŠnearly midnight.
Yu sighed before pulling the covers off his legs and sliding his feet into the kitty slippers that he kept beside his bed. He knew that there was no point in checking. It was probably nothing. Just a light that either he or Yosuke left on or something. Yet, he still couldnât stop this creeping dread that weaved its dark web over his chest. The Midnight Channel hasnât been on for a long time now. He was definitely being paranoid at this point.
âBut, you know what,â he thought as he pushed open the door. âItâs better to check, just in case.Â
He cautiously stepped out into the hallway, peering behind the wall to see what awaited him. Something that he and Yosuke had noticed when first moving in was the fact that the bedrooms were in the hallway behind the living room. So, if Yu ever stepped out of his room in the middle of the night, he could easily see the TV in front of him and be reassured that it was completely off. It was a weird thing to notice, but, again, he was slightly paranoid.
Either way, this floor layout was convenient for Yu that night as he walked down the hall and glanced at the TV. It was off, just like it was every other night. However, what did catch his attention instead was the figure standing in front of it. Seeing his boyfriendâs familiar lean physique and messy dyed hair lifted a sudden weight off of his shoulders and he couldnât stop himself from running over and wrapping his arms around his waist.
Yosuke yelped and whipped his head around only to be met with Yu hugging him from behind. He sighed before lightly slapping Yuâs shoulder. âDUDE! You scared the shit out of me!â
âSorry,â Yu apologized before glancing at the TV. â...nothing came on tonight, right?â
âNope,â Yosuke shook his head. âThe same way itâs been every night. Completely off.â
âGoodâŠâ Yu mumbled, burying his face into Yosukeâs neck, as if he was medicine for every negative emotion that Yu was currently feeling at the moment. Just the reassurance of his boyfriendâs skin against his face was enough reassurance for Yu that he was still alive.
âAnyways, what are you still doing up at this hour?â Yosuke questioned. âDid I wake you?â
âNo-well, actually yeah,â Yu admitted, glancing up to gesture towards the kitchen. âI saw that you turned the kitchen light on.â
Yosukeâs face flushed red as he rubbed the back of his neck. âOhâŠmy bad. I got hungry and wanted to get something. Shouldâve figured that turning the light on was a bad idea.â
âItâs okay. I was already awake,â Yu admitted before sighing, resting his chin on Yosukeâs shoulder.
âNightmare?â Yosuke simply asked.
Yu nodded solemnly.
âWhat was it about?â
Yu hesitated, burying his mouth against Yosukeâs shoulder as he struggled to find the words to explain. Obviously, there was no way to hide this from Yosuke. He always can tell whenever Yu had these kinds of nightmares and Yu didnât want to lie to him. Even so, Yu didnât want to repeat what he saw in that nightmare. The idea of him being the reason for everyoneâs deathsâŠ? For Yosuke dyingâŠ? The very thought made Yu want to take a nose-dive through the TV himself.Â
Finally, he decided to settle with something simple. âItâŠwas just about what couldâve possibly happened if we didnât catch Adachi in time. IâŠjust had to make sure that you were still okayâŠâ
Thankfully, as difficult as it could be to decipher what Yu means whenever he gets cryptic, Yosuke understood the message perfectly. He raised his hand up to brush against Yuâs cheek and allowed him to bury his face in his neck. His warm fingers brushed softly against Yuâs skin, almost like he was petting a small kitten to get him to relax.
âDonât worry, partner. Iâm okayâŠIâm right here.â
