I took the week off of IG to practice my new hobby. Just kidding... but I did have WAY too much fun throwing axes with my @salesloft team last night. I kind of want to hang out at @badaxethrowing all weekend. Have you ever been axe throwing? (at Bad Axe Throwing)
This 10-minute quickie... errrr... dinner... was over way too soon. I dressed a piece of @sizzlefishfit salmon really simply with lemon juice, fresh rosemary, and pepper. š Then I threw it under the broiler for 8 mins while I sautĆ©ed garlic, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and spinach. Topped it all with a balsamic reduction. The best part is that it was as easy as it was good! šš¼ . . How long did (will) dinner take you tonight?
They say it takes 2 years after ACL surgery to get your quads to even back out. Iām starting to believe it. Itās been 10 months and Iām still fighting to make the surgery leg stay engaged. Todayās leg day was a heavy one - Iām getting serious about to building it back up! Hereās what I did: . . šø Squats š¹Weighted walking lunges šøHack squats - medium stance š¹Leg extensions šøHamstring curls š¹Leg raises . . 4 sets, 12-6 reps, increasing weight each set. Go as heavy as you can with good form! š (I still hate leg day, btw.) . . What do you work today?

TBT to 8 years ago when my @atlrollergirls team went to Hollywood (Florida) for a bout. Can you tell which one is me? We loved our little hotel so much. It had a tiki bar that was filled with local patron who LOVED us (how could you not? š). My teammate summed it up perfectly: āWeāre rockstars here. This is heaven with a keg.ā āļø š»
Vegas and I were up to old habits this weekend - it was filled with adventure and #strangebutgood things. Not the least of which was this dish. Have you ever had tomato aspic? Itās something right out of a 1950s Southern Living. I can only describe it as Bloody Mary Jell-o (minus the vodka, sadly). Check out the blog today for more #WIAW shenanigans! I havenāt posted anything in my IG feed on DAYS. Thatās odd for me. Vegas is in town so rarely; I find myself unwilling to spend time on anything but her. I have been taking pictures though (and making decent use of stories). This delicious meal was eaten on Friday... after we bought a new car! The car is not in my possession yet - itās being shipped - so instead letās focus on the food. . . This meal is significant because, for the first time in my life, I had oysters I truly loved. I generally tolerate them, but these... I wanted to order more! Also of note is the roll in the background of the first pic. Itās a homemade Hawaiian roll and it melts in your mouth like a Kristy Kreme doughnut. I could have eaten 20. Next up, Vegas and I split a steak. @kimballhouse is known for oysters, but that steak was perfection. If youāve made it to the last pic, you know that dessert was epic too. Chocolate. Nougat. Bison meatloaf muffins are my work lunch for this busy week. Plus brown rice, French greens beans, and a healthy serving of sriracha. When I posted the recipe yesterday, I knew it was an easy, tasty one. šš¼ What I didnāt expect was for my friend @jolene1079 to try it the very next day! These are basically meat muffins. Not basically... they ARE. I took the idea of bison meatloaf and turned it into a more portable meal prep option. I had then for lunch today, in fact. You can use any meats you like (TWSS). Iāve been on a bison kick. Turkey, chicken, beef... it all works! Check out the recipe on the blog today (link in profile). š® . . About last night... I took mom out for her Motherās Day present (dinner). We went to @staplehouse and weāre blown away. First pic is the prettiest bite - a chicken lover tart. Todayās #WIAW post on the blog summarizes last weekend when my best friend came to visit. Itās hard to believe weāve been friends for... a lot of years. From grungy high school kids to married people with kids (one of us with kids - donāt get any ideas). These pics are a PG summary. Selfies, tequila, guac, and meats. Unpictured: a nose piercing adventure (again, just for one of us... Vegas was not on board š) and about 137 more drinks. š„ Do you and your BFF still do girls weekends?

I have some weird stomach thing (donāt ask š©), but if I felt like cookies Iād be eating cookie dough. šŖ Letās be real - weāve all made cookies because we were craving the batter... right?
