"Hi, cutie! You just gonna stare, or will you be so kind and grab me a towel?"
his eyes widened as he jokingly points to himself. " a-are you talking to me ? " he stutters jokingly before reaching over to grab a fresh towel. " here ya go, " he smiles as he hands her the towel. " oh and um... i'm kolby, by the way. "
" hopefully, you weren't disappointed with the selection ? " words joking, as she leans against the kitchen counter. cerulean hues focused on him, as she takes a piece of fruit into her mouth. @sprklepop
he smiles and then sheepishly rubs the back of his head. " no, no .. not at all. " he pauses with a slight tilt of his head then goes in for a swig of his water bottle before glancing back over at her. " perfect time for us to get to know each other even more, " he tells her honestly. " what about you ? i hope the big reveal didn't cause you to have a meltdown or anything. "
" oh aren't you too kind ? I knew there was a reason I trusted you with the bracelet, " amusement lingering at cerulean hues though softens, given the words that come next. words that provide a sense of ease, granted it demonstrated what she was hoping to accomplish here. " I really like that answer, " admitting with a small smile, " everybody comes in here talkin' about findin' love ... don't get me wrong, I hope that it happens for me too, but I think years from now i'm gonna remember the people, these little conversations, the inside jokes we make here ... and all the little moments in between, " her shoulders lifting in an easy shrug, " and if we're lucky enough to find our person along the way, I figure that will just make the story even better when we're old as dirt tellin' our grandkids about it. "
he chuckles lightly at her words. " really ? starting to feel like this is fate to me. " he smiles warmly and shakes the wrist with the bracelet. a silly attempt to show it off as a boyish smile tugged on the corner of his lips. " yeah ? i'm glad, " he comments on her compliment with a gentle yet nervous nod of his head. " and you're right too. i think finding love is the obvious answer — that's why we're all here but.." he pauses with a light shake of his head and furrowed brows. " there has to be more to this experience than simply just finding love.. especially when there's a chance you won't find it here, " he sighs. " and if that hypothetically happens then would this entire experience end up as a big regret ? " he shrugs and folds his arms. " i could never think like that ," he shakes his head at the thought. coming here was a privilege in itself and he promised himself no matter what happens he wouldn't be a sorry sport about the outcome. " but i can't lie — telling our grandkids about finding love in a fucking villa in barcelona would be cool as hell. "
" see ? that's exactly what I'm talking about. you're giving me just enough of a confidence boost to keep pursuing, while also reminding me I've still got to work for it, " his grin refusing to leave his face. " and for the record, I wasn't copying your answer. I was ... matching your level of effort. totally different, Bella, " an expression remaining impossibly convincing for all of two seconds before he broke into laughter. " now, a gym date and a picnic afterward ? " his brows lifts, " you after my heart or what ? ... but that's a little dangerous. besides, i'm a pretty good cook, if you couldn't tell. my pb&j sandwiches are the best in the northwest, " leaning back in his chair, amusement lingering in his eyes as he smiled, " but honestly ? I would be all for that ... and i'm manifesting that it actually happens. "
a smile spreads across her face at his cheeky response. " and that's what you want ? okay.. noted, " she says with a laugh and pushes a stray hair from her face. " right, totally different. just like you wanting to go on a picnic and the gym ? still matching my level of effort though , right ?" she teases with a smirk and lightly rolls her eyes at his endless teasing. " hmm that depends... " she tilts her head to the side and pretends to ponder her next words. tapping her face with her index finger against her cheek as she playfully draws out her response. " is it working ? or do i still need to work a little harder ? i need some hot and cold clues here , noles. " she bites her bottom lip. curiosity twinkles in her eyes as she leans up in her seat. " why do you say that's a little dangerous ? isn't the goal to go after your heart ? " she inquires in a relaxed tone. " sucks that i haven't tried these infamous pb&js.. feels like i'm missing out, " she pretends to pout as her eyes fixate on him. " we're on the same page, then. i think we'd have a lot of fun and i'm not just desperate for some of your little sandwiches. i want to see how much you can bench too." she wiggles her eyebrows jokingly.
"oh, absolutely. you any good?" king teased her as soon as he got to the room before he sat down across from her. "you nervous about the date or what?"
" if we were gambling here, i'd tell you i was shit at the game, " she laughs and begins to shuffle the deck of cards. " but since we're playing for fun, i'll be honest and tell you i'm pretty good." she smiles genuinely as he sits on the opposite side of her. " what about you ? are you good at blackjack..? or any card game for that matter ? " she asks curiously with a tilt of her head. " yeah, i'm a little nervous. first date here so i want it to go well, " she manages to say with a shaky tone and leans back in her seat. " is it obvious ? "
"i figured it would be used eventually. we're all stuck here for 9 weeks, sparks are flying and candy had made it very clear brad was her usual type so i'm not that surprised." lex admitted before feeling the heat on her cheeks. "oh, i'm not sure i'll be using that boom boom room. knowing that people from back home will be able to see everything is giving me pause when it comes to that whole room." she said with a sheepish laugh. "what about you? is there someone in particular you're feeling?"
" true.. when you break it down it doesn't seem all that surprising, " he bit the inside of his cheek. " to think they weren't a match though.. that was probably the more surprising bit, " he comments and folds his arms. recalling how he felt when it was announced to the house. " i understand where you're coming from and i don't blame you one bit. knowing my folks' can see what i'm doing had me thinking i should be on my best behavior too but at the same time... we're only gonna experience this show once in our lives so don't hesitate to do what feels right. " he nods his head firmly. " there's someone i'm interested in but it's still early. i don't know if it's smart to rush things when we still have to be around each other for a while."
"Sure," she said, placing her bookmark in between the pages as she closed her journal and placed it to the side. Vale welcomed a quiet moment amid the heightened emotions, and, wanting a moment of solitude to herself, she was just happy to slow down for a minute to process. "How do you feel about your date?" Vale inquires.
her eyes brightened at the response from the other. " great ! i'll shuffle the deck. " she smiles wide as her hands expertly begin to shuffle the cards. she'd been playing card games since she was a child and for some reason it was one of her go-to stress relievers. " i'm nervous about it.. to tell you the truth, " she opened up to the other. " i just want to make a good impression even if us being chosen was completely random.. they could be my match, y'know ? " she sighed as she finished shuffling and organized the cards. a pause lingered in the air before she squeezed in her next question. " have you played blackjack before ? "
"I'm not. It was only a matter of time, although I thought it'd be toward the tail end of the week." This was the perfect pressure cooker for such an environment, and some people just had a high sex drive that they simply could not contain when met with another of the same energy. "Are you asking everyone this question?" she chuckles. "I may have someone in mind...what about you?"
" makes sense but i guess if people are horny enough, why wait ? " he chuckles with a nonchalant shrug. so people weren't camera shy like he thought they'd be. he was mildly impressed, and wanted to see if any other housemates were just as desperate to scratch that itch. "yup," he says popping the p and raising his chin. " i'm asking everyone... consider it my way of getting to know my house mates and seeing where their heads are at, " he smirked followed by a light laughter at her response. " i do but will it actually happen ? who knows."
a smile tugs on her lips as she leans forward, arms carefully wrapped around the other's neck. " to be completely honest, i'm really happy i get to kiss you right now. " @paradiseplayers
" honestly, i'm hopin' the lucky part works too ... otherwise i'm gonna have a whole villa demandin' lawsuits, " amusement lingering at her features, as cerulean hues softened given the question that follows. " I think i'm mostly lookin' forward to actually meetin' people I might never have crossed paths with. like, I mean ... I came here hopin' to find my person too, but I think there is somethin' kind of special about gettin' to know people from completely different walks of life and seein' what comes from it, " her head tilting back slightly before a grin tugs at her lips, " what about you ? besides hopefully fallin' in love, of course. "
he couldn't help but chuckle at her charming words. " hopefully that doesn't happen but i'd let you borrow my family lawyer just in case. " he responds in a teasing manner, adjusting the bracelet against his wrist as he does. kolby then raised his chin up as she answered his question. his eyes fixated on hers as he attentively listened to her. " i feel you. this is a once in a lifetime experience that we were picked for. " he nods his head, taking in this fact. " i can't help but get excited to get to know everyone too and form connections beyond just romantic ones, " he says with a lopsided smile. " but i think i'm most looking forward to is the memories. the good and the bad ones cause i know it's gonna be something i'll remember when i'm old as dirt and telling my grandkids about what i did in my prime years. "
" losing to the pool and the gym ? that's a tough start for me, " placing a hand over his chest as though he had been personally attacked by the answer. " and a five? see, that's dangerous. high enough to make sure I don't get too comfortable, but low enough to still give me hope, " a grin tugs at the corner of his lips as he leaned back slightly, amusement evident in his expression as he was playing along jokingly, " and as for stiff competition ? I would probably put that at a five too ... although, if a gym date happens to be in our future, I might be willing to bump those odds in your favor a little. "
" i'm at a villa can you blame me ? " she jokes. " besides as long as you put in the effort i'm sure you can win my attention my attention in no time. " she smiles warmly, followed by a light laughter at his dramatics. she thought her answer was reasonable and fairly truthful. " right, it's the perfect balance and you'll never truly know where the pendulum will swing, " she teases and leans back in her seat, entertained by his witty response. " a five ? are you sure you're not just copying my answer so i'll remain just as equally motivated ? " she snickers and playfully rolls her eyes at his expression. " a gym date with a relaxing picnic afterwards would boost your odds too. let's manifest that it happens. "
" i can't believe the boom boom room is already getting used, " he shakes his head in astonishment. he was curious to see if connections were forming early on or if this was merely physical attraction. " is there anyone you were hoping to spend some time with in the boom boom room too..? " he wiggled his eyebrows curiously.
" hey , you want to play some blackjack ? " she asks sweetly to the other. she would have to get ready for her getaway date soon but the butterflies in her stomach were practically driving her crazy. she desperately needed something to past the time and calm her nerves. " i could really use the company, " she says as her hands reach for the pack of cards.
tala had a stack of sticky notes and a pen. "okay, don't make fun of me. i want everyone to write down one prediction for this season." she slid the pen across the counter. "could be anything. first kiss, first couple, first person to cry, first villain edit, whatever. then at the end of the season we open them and see who was closest."
his ears perked up at the suggestion. " good idea and best way to start the season. " he smirks and takes a sticky note and a pen. writing down who he thought would become the first couple. " i think i nailed this one. " he places the pen down and folds his sticky note. " luck is usually on my side. "
"alright, i've got a game." jett had somehow commandeered a lounge chair and was sitting backwards in it, sunglasses hanging from the collar of his shirt despite the fact that the sun had already started setting. "everyone in this house has at least one absolutely unhinged ex story. don't lie, you know you do. so let's hear it. no names, no identifying details, just the craziest thing an ex has ever done to you or the craziest thing you've done to an ex. if you say you've never done anything toxic in your life, i'm assuming you're the problem."
nodding along to his suggestion she moved to sit in the opposite facing lounge chair. she was giddy to talk about her own experiences , and of course , listen to others. her ex stories were quite the story time but considering they were on television she would omit some details. " the craziest thing an ex has ever done to me ..." she takes a second, attempting to gather her thoughts and visualize the moment in her mind. " ... would probably be cheating on me in my home then lying about it. the only reason i found out he lied was because the girl he cheated on me with posted them making out on instagram and she tagged me. " she rolls her eyes in disgust at the thought of it. luckily this moment was a decade ago, but the pain of the memory still lingers after all these years.
"definitely a classic," she nodded in agreement, as she angled herself on the bar stool slightly. "usually it's more of a free-spirit type of person who orders it, someone approachable, and someone who doesn't overthink things," she gave a grin, and tilted her head slightly. "think it's fitting, or did i completely misread you?"
kolby nodded along to her words as he pondered if they represented him or not. for the most part, they definitely did. he prided himself on being sociable and outgoing but he can overthink if he's struggling with something. " nah , you're right on the money. " he smiles genuinely, and leans back in his chair. " i come from a big family so i had to do what i could to stand out and be my own person. naturally i've always been pretty independent. " he smirks. " what about you ? what does your drink say ? " he motions towards her glass.
