Sunforgettable...a love story
I have been Facebooking and talking (and talking) a lot about Colorescience Sunforgettable mineral sunblocks over the last few weeks. While I know that this is what I use exclusively to protect myself and my family, and I have been a huge believer in the product since we brought it in 4 years ago, sometimes it takes a refresher to remind me just how awesome it is.
And when that happens...well, you can't get me to shut up about it and I like to make specials as well.
Ryane and I had the pleasure of going to a Colorescience training class last month to get some in depth product knowledge, application tips, and just overall cheer leading I love these types of classes because they are inspirational and always leave me feeling like my batteries are recharged on the product line. Picking product lines takes A LOT of research, effort, and trust, and a class like this reminds me of why we picked them in the first place.
Since the line is medically/clinically driven, a large portion of the class focused on just why Colorescience is awesome and what sets it apart from other mineral makeup lines. Since the Sunforgettable line is extremely unique as well, we came away with a lot of good talking points for how to explain to our clients why they should be wearing this stuff EVERY day.
I don't like to get on a cancer prevention high horse, people's eyes either glaze over or they tune out because they have heard the same thing from their doctor and still choose to ignore the FACTs in search of a good tan...I get it...really...but hearing some startling facts coupled with May being Skin Cancer Awareness month, we have been talking more about how Sunforgettable protects your skin for your vanity as well as potentially limiting your risk of skin cancer.
I try to keep my explanations as short as possible (haha) when talking about the product in my office...but here are some of my favorite reasons why Colorescience Sunforgettable is awesome:
It does not sting your skin or eyes.
The protection is instant-you don't have to wait for a coating or chemical action to occur before sun exposure or swimming.
The zinc & titanium act like mini mirrors, reflecting the sun away and making "shade" for your skin below-making this ideal for those prone to rosacea/redness. Chemical sunscreens absorb and disperse the UV rays...which can increase circulation and inflammation.
It comes in both SPF 30 and SPF 50 (the now highest rating the FDA will allow)
It is extremely "water resistant" (also the highest rating the FDA will allow) meaning your protection is there for at least 80 minutes of water ACTIVITY
The Lip Shines have gloss, SPF 35, and color, one of the only products with all of those on the market. Lip skin is so thing, so susceptible to burning and UV damage, and typical lip glosses are like a beacon for the sun rays.
For many of my clients, the very sheer coverage with one of the 9 shades of powder is enough to call their makeup...making them extremely compliant with wearing it and harder to forget to put it on.
The brush applicator goes in your purse/sun bag/car/golf bag and is easy to put on over makeup-again, increasing compliance.

Kids will wear it! It doesn't sting or stink. And the shimmer powders are awesome for little girls... "come put on your sparkles!"
If I do happen to get a sunburn...it's the only sunblock that will feel good to apply afterwards.
Zinc Oxide is in Desitin, one of the only things approved for babies under 6 months of age. It's soooooooooothing.
I'm sure there are more things I love but I just wanted to take a few minutes and blab about this product. It's too awesome and sometimes I run out of time and air to get it all out for my clients when they are at the check out counter. We try to never run out of it, keeping a huge stock on hand. It makes a really great gift because usually they haven't tried it, and even if they have, they need another tube to stash somewhere else...Powders range from $50-$60 and last a LONG time. So you might as well come in and get like a dozen. Just kidding...sort of.
