Not all goblins are adventurous or fantastical. Some just work a day job. These are not very interesting goblins but they are very important.

Goblin homesteaders travel the wilderness, following the guidance of goblin scouts and adventurers to find new places to call home. Goblin communities are frequently targeted by large monsters, seeking out lairs with the same qualities that led the goblins to settle those places originally. Picking up and moving on, sometimes well ahead of a predicted catastrophe, is a part of life for goblins, and a trait that has lead to their widespread settlement of the known world. Whatever places you may travel to, there’s a good chance that goblins have been there first.

The Wobbo-Woozle is a beast of burden and cornerstone of several goblin cultures. It’s impressive size and speed make it a popular mount for hunting parties, covering wide swaths of land in search of prey. However, with the woozle being about the size of a small housecat, and its riders smaller still, their quarry usually ends up being small insects or unattended candies inside larger creature’s homes. The goblins often try to improve the woozle’s ferocity with metal claws worn over their paws, but the beast is notoriously hard to goad into using them, preferring instead to pester its riders for belly rubs in the most inconvenient circumstances.

Small but keen, some goblin bands turn to technology to make up for their physical disadvantages against the larger races. While mechanical traps and complicated (and often explosive) weaponry are common, some goblins iterally seek to improve themselves with enormous exo-suits, extending their reach and protecting their vital bits from harm. Layered in several inches of metal and comfortable padding, they’re quite safe from conventional weapons- at the tradeoff of a fatal vulnerability to tripping.

Goblins explore. Goblins seek out stores of crops and grains that the farmers surely won’t miss one sack of. Goblins get lost on the way home and do even more exploring as a result. Misdirection is the mother of discovery, or at least of goblin discovery.

This goblin diviner lives in a small cave in the base of a cliff, settled on the bank of an underground spring filled with translucent white crabs and fish. People from all around (goblins and nongoblins alike) come to him for prophecies, portents, and advice. Breaking off stalagmites from the cave, he crushes up a handful of the aquatic creatures and scatters them into the pool, where the ripples form watery frescoes of the coming events.
(He takes payment in coin or fresh vegetables, but the coin price is exorbitant, and he has to taste and cook and have a meal with the vegetables before he does any prophesying.)

Like many reptiles and amphibians, goblins do not have a natural limit to their growth, and so long as they are not killed by disease or violence and can keep themselves well fed, they can hypothetically grow to terrifying sizes. As goblin’s lives are nasty, brutish, and short, so often are they. However, the occasional supergoblin may be found in a secluded cavern, growing in relative safety, waiting for the next wayward explorer to tumble down into their lair and be prodded with sticks for as long as the goblin’s patience will allow.
Older sketchpage from a few months back. I’m really happy with how most of these came out! The harpy lady in particular.
Dead Hand. This one was pretty creepy but that’s kinda the point, so I’m happy with it. Gotta make it meltier-looking next time around (and give it a nose too! I forgot the nose.)
Miniblins, Bokoblins, Moblins, and... a Big Blin I guess! Wanted to make a bigger meaner version to fit in.
It was fun trying to fit the members of the family into a consistient style, while still making them look somewhat related! The skulls are intended to be based off of goats, cows, pigs, and a hippopotamus respectively. Will come back to these later!
A Zora scribble! Not perfect design but a decent first draft. The object on the right is meant to be a crab cage/trap. Which I probably should have researched before trying to start it.

Trying colors. Feeling good.
Messed with the color balance some, really happy with this version.
Loftwings are great, storklike birds known for their size and colorful plumage, but little else. They roost along canyons and mountains, likely hiding their nests in the caves and crags. Despite their brilliant appearance, there is little known about them. They are wary of people*, driving away those who come too close with remarkably intelligent tactics.
Speculation surrounds about the loftwing’s origins. Many oral traditions claim they descended from the heavens, settling down on the surface ages ago. Others cite murals and paintings from strange ruins that they were once ridden by humans as mounts**.
A popular rumor says that the bird on the Hylian crest is meant to depict a loftwing. The Royal Family has neither confirmed nor denied the assumption, saying the crest is as it has been for generations, its origin lost to time.
*While defensive around any people, for some reason loftwings tend to be less afraid of humans than members of other races.
**Many of the ruins with with these depictions occupy large craters, as if having fallen to earth from a great height. This pattern lends evidence to theories of an ancient race of ‘sky people’ that existed before Hyrule was formed.
The dodongo is a massive reptilian monster, often found underground near sources of fire and magma. With tremendous horns and crushing jaws, they become apex predators in whatever environment they inhabit. They feast on any creature they can get their jaws around, eating to excess whenever food presents itself. Their heavy scales and bony plates deter blades and arrows, as well as the heat of their volcanic lairs. The impenetrable hide protects their heads and flanks, but their large tails are unarmored*.
If their physical might wasn’t bad enough, dodongos are also notorious for breathing fire. They inhale large quantities of air before expelling a great blast of flame, giving little time to duck for cover. While the beast’s insides are just as heatproof as their outsides, their bellies are still much softer than their scales and are vulnerable to violent force**. Throwing a bomb (or bomb flower, which grow near sources of heat) down the monster’s gullet as they take in air is a risky, yet effective maneuver.
Though feared, the monsters are also prized: their fireproof skins and organs are fashioned into heat-resistant armor and equipment (like bomb bags). Unfortunately, their tendency to explode upon death makes harvesting the materials a tricky business***.
*It’s believed that dodongos store fat in their tails, and their fluctuation in size (when prey and explorers are scarce) is why they remain soft compared to the rest of the beast. Some consider the tail a delicacy, but the difficulty in preserving them*** ensures they remain just that.
**As a common saying goes: “You breathe fire, but you dislike smoke.” It’s often used to call out hypocritical practices, but it may have had a different interpretation in the past.
***Experienced dodongo hunters know the secret to leaving a salvageable body intact, but dodongo hunting is a trade that leaves fewer members each year. One might be convinced to lend their expertise to acquire some of the hide, if the ones proposing the trip were proven skilled enough not to get eaten immediately.
Wizrobe design.
The mask is meant to call back to Wind Waker’s toucan-beaked wizrobes, like a gilded plague doctor’s mask.
