—YOU'VE GOT ME RUNNING* Bongsoo&Howon
spxmurklass:
@spxhowon
Somewhere between five and six in the morning, the perfect time to go out for his daily strolling routine at a nearby park– Bong Soo is a man that highly enjoys exercising his body, but he is not too good with socializing so he prefers to go out at a time where not many people would actually be around. There’s always a few, but not the big mass that would be around if he chose to come to the park a few hours later.
However for a few months he’s been casually meeting this other guy that seemed as much as a loner as him, because they took care of their routine relatively close but he’s never spitted a word which made him the perfect morning company. Bong Soo always does this before going to bed because he’s usually all night awake due different types of jobs he engage on, but if he gets home before doing this he would never do it because his bed would be too tempting– thus not having an annoying person babbling things he really didn’t cared about while exercising was quite perfect, there was no better word. Though he couldn’t deny that the silence also cause a bit of curiosity on him, but he wouldn’t push it– maybe he was going to regret that later.
Instead– since Bong Soo was ina good mood, he just threw a glance at him and smirked before picking up his pace as if he was challenging him to a race.
If there’s something in his routine that Howon doesn’t like to miss or skip, it’s his usual morning run before the sun even rises. It’s the only moment of the day when Seoul finally settles down a little, and while the city is never completely asleep it’s not buzzing with its usual life either, Hoya finds that refreshing.
Today again, he’s up and running in the park he usually goes to. Usher is blasting in his headphones and he’s mouthing along the lyrics, feeling in a rather good mood. His noisy neighbors have spent the night away it seemed, allowing him to get a good night of rest for once and his latest mission ended up being such an easy task that he is honestly feeling a bit offended it has been assigned to him in the first place. He isn’t going to complain, though, not when he has no reason to. Good days are rarer than it seems, after all.
Almost as if he senses a presence beside him, Howon takes a glance on his left and notices, without surprise, that someone is running next to him. Of course, it is him, he thinks, looking straight on front of him again. Hoya doesn’t know his name, but he knows his face. They have run along side by side a few times by now, or if they didn’t, at least spotted each other almost every day on the tracks. Hoya figures the other man is like it’s unofficial running buddy even though they have never talked. Hoya likes it that way. He’s not the most social man out there, and he’s somewhat thankful that the other seems to be that way, too.
It seems that the other man also shares his good mood, Hoya notices as the other suddenly picks up the pace, passing him on the running track. Hoya hasn’t missed the smirk the man flashed him, though and he grins to himself. He’s not the type to back down from a challenge when he sees one. Hoya starts to run a little bit faster, catching up easily and then passing the other man before turning back and raising an eyebrow at his running partner. Game on.

It was one of those days when Scarlet couldn’t wait to get out of work– what a stressing day! She definitely needed a drink, and silence, lots of silence and soothing music– and good sex damn it. Sighing the female rolled her eyes and walked out of the agency to a near by jazz bar, not frequented by many people; not even by fellow agents. Despite how close it was to work, it was like an invisible place for many of them– yet, there’s always a night where one random agent would be around, and tonight it was him.
Scarlet has seen him around for a while now, however has never had the opportunity to approach– perhaps this was the night. Sitting from the other side of the bar, she crossed her legs and eyed him as she waited for the scotch she just asked for. It was a strong drink for a lady, yes, but she needed it madly crazy. Meanwhile she let her eyes roam over him, not to evident to lose her class, but quite enough to have taken clear note of his handsome features– which stole a smirk from the corner of her lips. He seemed like he needed some fun and she couldn’t hold herself back from asking the bartender to serve him a drink too and tell him that round was on her– after all making the first move didn’t make her less woman, so she honestly didn’t cared.
Howon usually wasn’t one for jazz bars, considering them way too classy for him. He always felt a bit too inadequate for them, and jazz wasn’t exactly his kind of music either. He quite liked the atmosphere of “Moonlight”, though. The bar was quite secluded, barely bigger than a shoebox in size and offered good quality liquor for a decent price. It was close to the headquarters, too, which was appreciated when he needed a drink or two after an exhausting day.
Today hadn’t been bad per se, but he was still haunted by the semi-failure of his latest mission and needed something – or someone – to take his mind out of it. He just needed to forget. By any means. All the stress he had inside him was driving him crazy and he needed an outlet. Dancing, though, was out of the question. Not when his side was still hurting after the bullet that had grazed him.
“For you, sir,” the bartender suddenly said, interrupting his thoughts. Howon arched a brow in curiosity. He hadn’t asked for a new drink, and scotch on the rocks wasn’t exactly what he was usually ordering either. He was more a beer kind of guy, or whiskey if the occasion called for it, so this was surprising.
“I haven’t ordered this,” he replied, gesturing to the glass in front of him. The bartender simply shrugged, gesturing to someone at the other side of the bar. Howon’s gaze followed the direction he was in, his eyes meeting a woman’s. Oh.
He wasn’t exactly sure, but she looked quite familiar to him. By the way she dressed and carried himself, he could bet she was from the agency, too. It was interesting to him, to have her being so forward. Especially with a fellow colleague. Not that he minded, and the feeling of being seduced – the way her eyes had roamed over him had been a clear indication enough – was oddly pleasing. He wasn’t exactly a ladies man, and on the contrary, even felt often quite awkward around females but her… He could already tell she would be different, that she knew what she wanted and was going to get it, no matter what. He liked that, after all, he liked his women as he liked his drinks – strong and rough.
If that’s how she wanted to play it, then so be it. He wasn’t going to be that easy. Howon grabbed his drink and put it to his lips, his eyes not leaving hers and his smirk matching her own.

14. What are they like when they are drunk?Answered here.15. Where in their body do they keep stress or tension?Answered here.22. What are they like when they get sick? Do they have a particular system (ears, lungs, etc) that illness gravitates to?Howon rarely gets sick, he’s quite strong and sturdy and also takes good care of his body and health. When it does happen to get sick, though, there’s a high chance it’s a sore throat and a runny nose, which annoys him a lot because it’s uncomfortable to sleep.

5. What kind of weather makes them happy, and what kind makes them sad?Answered here.7. What clothing do they like to wear, and what do they wear most often?Answered here.9. As a child, what did they want to be when they grew up? Did they realize their dream?Following his dreams is Howon’s life story. Dreams are what made him run away from Busan in the first place, what made him leave everything - his family, his friends, his education, all he had ever known - behind him. Being on stage and dance had been all he had dreamed about during his childhood and teenage years and he had thought he could really make it, even coming to Seoul to make his dreams happen. He was met with rejection after rejection, and hardship after hardship, and those have made him touch the ground again to acknowledge the cold, sad reality. There’s no place on stage for him. 15. Where in their body do they keep stress or tension?Mostly in his shoulders, they can get really tense when he’s stressed. The back of his head, too.

2. What is their weapon of choice, and what weapon do they dislike using the most?Answered here.8. Do they eat a healthy diet? A varied one?Hoya tries to eat a healthy diet, despite eating a lot outside. He’s an okay cook, or at least make edible food, but he’s almost never home and would still rather eat outside, anyway. He prefers korean food over anything else, mostly because it’s healthy and varied and tries to order different dishes everytime. He has his favorites, though, meat being of them and he might get more proteins in his system that he should if he’s honest. He also has a bit of a sweet tooth but since he’s not one to get snack or desserts often, that’s not a problem. 24. How do they react to being physically injured or undergoing medical treatment?Answered here.

2. What is their weapon of choice, and what weapon do they dislike using the most?
Answered here.10. What makes them feel safe or secure? What makes them feel insecure or unsafe? If Howon needs to escape his life and feel in control again, music is his answer. He will isolate himself and let music take over him until he manages to get a grip and feel safe again. As soon as he feels like he’s able to have a bad time, he will find comfort in music and dancing. The better way to make him feel insecure is also the best way to piss him off - look down on him, especially for his lack of education. He won’t let it show, but once he’s alone, he will start wondering if he’s as dumb as they all think he is. Failure, too, makes him feel insecure as he hates feeling like he’s a disappointment. 30. Do they have any allergies or chronic conditions? No, Howon is quite healthy on that aspect. For the moment, at least.
2 & 26!
2. What is their weapon of choice, and what weapon do they dislike using the most?Howon is sharp and he has a knack for details, that’s why he really likes snipper rifles. He doesn’t get to use them often, though, and if he has to pick a common weapon he can use in most of his missions, he would go with a pistol as they’re relatively quiet, lightweight and can do effective damages to opponents. He’s not fond of weapons that requires time to take effect such as poison nor the ones that might not always work such as grenades or bombs. He values being fast and effective and doesn’t like to have luck involved in his missions.26. How much do they eat, and how often? Do they drink appetite suppressants (tea, coffee, etc)?He eats whenever he’s hungry, usually three times a day. He’s not a snacker and usually prefers eating fullfulling meals, eating healthy portions of whatever he gets to eat (except if it’s his own cooking, he’s barely a decent cook). He only drinks tea when he feels unwell or needs some comfort and avoids coffee or energy drinks because they’re unhealthy in his opinion. He prefers sports drinks or vitamin waters, which he drinks quite often.

4. Who did they look up to the most as a child? Who do they look up to as an adult?Even as a child, Howon looked up to no one. His father smacked him around more often that not, wanting to make a real man out of him and his mother was a typical housewife too afraid to defend her own flesh. In a way, he had loved them but in no way, had looked up to them or admired them. His uncle, who had left for the US before Hoya was even born had always sounded cool to him, though. He had fantasies of him being a rich man now, one cooler than his lame dad stuck working in a factory. He certainly doesn’t look to anyone now, not even the music artists he truly liked in the past and were the reasons for his past dreams. Admiring someone would probably end up with him being disappointed in the end, and Howon won’t let himself be hurt if he can help it.14. What are they like when they are drunk? He gets bolder and in a way, friendlier because he starts talking more. He might even open up somewhat if someone plays their cards well. He drops the walls he’s built around himself and his heart, and could let people get closer to him if he’s in the mood for it. Nonetheless, people should continue to be careful to not end up burnt because they will have to go past his bluntness first.24. How do they react to being physically injured or undergoing medical treatment?Angry, definitely angry at himself. Getting injured means failing and if there’s something that Howon hates more than anything, it’s failing. He struggles with coming to terms with the fact that he couldn’t avoid getting injured and messed up. Be it in mission or just random injuries, it always annoys him that he lost control of the situation. He doesn’t mind getting treated, though, and has no fear of hospitals or treatments.

12. Do they sing or play any musical instruments, even if just for fun? How well?Howon sings, mostly in the shower or when he’s alone, though. He’s not specially good, but not bad either and can sing in tune, at least. He also knows how to play the drums, learnt that during his teenage years but it has been forever since he last played that he’s uncertain he would be able to do so anymore.
28. What is a gift that they have received that was especially touching or significant?
He has never received many gifts, but the one that touched him the most is probably the gift he got from his friends on his sixteenth birthday, the last one he spent in Busan. They had gotten him an iPod, the same one he had been eyeing for months. It had been his way of escaping the world, and he still has it in a drawer, unable to throw it away even after it stopped working a few years ago.

5. What kind of weather makes them happy, and what kind makes them sad?Howon doesn’t care much about the weather, but he likes it when the sky is clear and the sun shines, just because it makes it easier to be outside. He’s someone made from the outdoors, after all.Sadness comes with snow. It never snowed much in Busan and both his mother and sister always complained about that during his childhood, about how they wanted to see snow and play with it. Every time it snows in Seoul, Hoya remembers of everything and everyone he’s left behind him and he can’t help but feel somewhat sad.
7, 6
6. What languages do they speak? Do they have any idiosyncrasies or identifiable patterns of speech, word usages, etc?Hoya can only speak Korean, which frustrates him a little because he would like to know more languages. He’s quite interested by the musical culture of the States and would like to learn English, at least. He’s not too bad for someone who hasn’t learnt it properly (he does try to learn it on his spare time, sometimes) but his accent is really thick that he would never date to speak English in public. He speaks fast, and if he’s really angry or annoyed, his Busan satoori comes back full force. He hasn’t really lost his Busan accent yet but it’s not obvious, especially as he uses Seoul dialect well now. 7. What clothing do they like to wear, and what do they wear most often? It really depends on what he’s doing. For dancing and sports, he’s all about baggy sweatpants and tank tops, usually in black or white. His casual fashion is really simple too, usually fitted pairs of jeans, tees or tanks tops (or even polo shirts) in solid colors and a leather jacket. He likes to keep it simple, and doesn’t really care much about fashion. That’s why he doesn’t really wear accessories either. He really likes snapbacks and beanies, though, and wears them often.
16, 29
16. What do they think about where they currently live? If they could move elsewhere, would they?Howon lives in one of the shadiest area of Seoul, if not the shadiest. His one bedroom flat is a legit dumpster, and the people living in his buildings aren’t exactly people you would like to meet on the streets at night. Everything about where he lives screams that he’s poor, and it makes him angry. Angry that he’s stuck there when he knows he’s better than the drug dealers, the prostitutes, the gang members that hides in the shadows on his neighborhood. At the same time, it’s the only place he has lived in since he arrived in Seoul as a teen who wanted to achieve his dreams. He’s not happy of it, nor proud but he wouldn’t know where to go if he could move and that’s why he doesn’t, despite having the money for it.He wants to move, truly does, but he’s afraid of not fitting anywhere else than that shitty place and area.29. How do they arrange or decorate their living space?Considering his place is a shithole, and he doesn’t like to stay in if he doesn’t have to, his place looks pretty bare. He arrived in Seoul quite empty-handed and never had too much money to buy himself stuff, well, until recently. There’s a few pictures around, though, and posters of R&B artists he put on the wall to hide the holes behind them but that’s about it.

Kim Myungffin and his sweet treats - KMS&LHW
@myungsoospx
The first thing Howon noticed upon coming back to his desk after his coffee break was that someone had been here not too long ago. Indeed, the muffin on his desk certainly wasn’t there when he left twenty minutes ago.
The bright blue wrapper of the muffin was impossible to miss on his otherwise monochrome and close to bare desk, but he liked it the touch of color. His desk was at least looking like someone was using it, now. Someone truly living, not a ghost.
Still, Howon stared at the chocolate baked good with a puzzled expression on his face. If he had to be honest, having this placed neatly on his desk was unusual and strange in itself. Howon didn’t have many friends inside the agency, and certainly not ones close enough to do such things. Even with someone wanted to make him happy, he doubted anyone would bother with offering him sweets. After all, he certainly didn’t look like he liked sweet treats in the first place. People probably thought he was hard as steel, and he wasn’t about to let them believe otherwise.
They were wrong, though. Hoya had quite a sweet tooth, not that he was ever going to confess about it out loud. His tough image would never survive it and he would die of embarrassment if someone happened to find that bit of information about himself cute.
Someone didn’t know about his image of being a cold Busan namja, though, or simply didn’t care. Howon had a clear idea of who it was. Indeed, while he was still finding the whole idea of getting baked goods on his desk weird, he wasn’t surprised by it anymore.
It wasn’t the first time it happened, after all. It was even pretty frequent. Cupcakes, slices of sponge cakes, cookies... Howon had gotten quite a few treats in the last few weeks.
Maybe, finally, it was time to finally ask why he was getting those… and maybe, even say thank you. He had eaten them all, after all, and even enjoyed them.
Howon nodded to himself, finishing his coffee before throwing the cup in the bin and grabbing the muffin carefully. The files on his desk could wait a bit longer, he had someone to see first.
He walked through a few hallways, not exactly sure of where his final destination was. Te was just aware of who he was looking for; the kid he had saved from being mugged and beaten a few weeks ago.
It seemed that luck was on his side, though, as he spotted said-kid sitting on his desk and talking animatedly to a colleague rather quickly. Thanks God he didn’t have to search the whole building for him.
“Yah, Kim Myungsoo,” Howon called out before he he could think twice about it, quickly pointing to the muffin in his hand once he was sure he had the attention of the younger man. “Mind explaining why you’re doing this?”
