9. As a child, what did they want to be when they grew up? Did they realize their dream?

Since she was young, Jinah’s always been one to change her mind on what kind of career she wanted to go into when she grew older. From a doctor with a stethoscope, to a kindergarten teacher with young children huddled around her, to a lawyer that was a force to be reckoned with in and out of the courtroom, to even a model or actress, Jinah had thought of it all at one point in her life. Jinah never would have realized she’d end up being a part of a top-secret agency, but it’s a job that she’s good at and it lets her pretend to be all of those other jobs she wished she could be at some point in her life.

14. What are they like when they are drunk?

Jinah’s one to frequently be around alcohol, but she always makes sure to drink in moderation. With the amount of schmoozing she needs to do, she’s learned to build her tolerance, but if she ends up actually drunk... well. When drunk, she’s a bit giggly, and also the one that would just want to dance and keep the party going because the buzz is that awesome. If you ever encounter a drunk Jinah, please get her home before she insists on doing something extremely stupid.

18. What foods do they eat most often? Do they enjoy it?

She tends to eat a bit on the healthy side, choosing to opt for a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, and meats. Occasionally, she’ll give in to her sweet tooth and have some treats, but her biggest vice would probably be ddeokbokki. The foods that she eats the most often would probably be bibimbap, because it’s a mixture of everything, really. Because she keeps a good amount of the ingredients on hand in her apartment, she usually just tosses it all into a bowl whenever she’s in the mood to have something to eat.

16. What do they think about where they currently live? If they could move elsewhere, would they?Howon lives in one of the shadiest area of Seoul, if not the shadiest. His one bedroom flat is a legit dumpster, and the people living in his buildings aren’t exactly people you would like to meet on the streets at night. Everything about where he lives screams that he’s poor, and it makes him angry. Angry that he’s stuck there when he knows he’s better than the drug dealers, the prostitutes, the gang members that hides in the shadows on his neighborhood. At the same time, it’s the only place he has lived in since he arrived in Seoul as a teen who wanted to achieve his dreams. He’s not happy of it, nor proud but he wouldn’t know where to go if he could move and that’s why he doesn’t, despite having the money for it.He wants to move, truly does, but he’s afraid of not fitting anywhere else than that shitty place and area.29. How do they arrange or decorate their living space?Considering his place is a shithole, and he doesn’t like to stay in if he doesn’t have to, his place looks pretty bare. He arrived in Seoul quite empty-handed and never had too much money to buy himself stuff, well, until recently. There’s a few pictures around, though, and posters of R&B artists he put on the wall to hide the holes behind them but that’s about it.

“soojung!” ah young waves when she sees her, jumping twice in her place out of excitement and from the cold. “i’m late, aren’t i? sorry, the bar was really busy today so i didn’t even get the chance to text you. i tried to leave as fast as i could, though.” she huddles close to the girl, sliding an arm around hers. “it’s like there are people who still haven’t got over the whole new year cheer yet, they kept ordering continuously.” if she didn’t have plans to meet with soojung, she’d have stayed just a little to see the faces of the customers when they saw their bill. some people can really go crazy once they have a little bit of money to spare. if it was her to receive a bonus, anyone can bet their first born that she’ll be saving it. 

it’s not too late that all the cafes are closed, and ah young looks around before nudging her friend gently. “let’s go somewhere warm that doesn’t sell alcohol.”

fear the living ; soojung & himchan

One. Two, three. A hundred. A thousand. 

Raindrops fell from the sky, pouring down heavily and loudly like dead bodies that touched the ground amidst the chaos of an unexpected attack. The coldness of the water sliding down the skin felt in no way different from the warmth of the blood that stained a fair skin in crimson red; there had been so much red, that night. It had even been overwhelming, that much of the same color, but now everything seemed dull, blurry. One wouldn’t find any similarities between the rain and fighting for their life in a closed space but for Himchan who stood against a brick wall in a small alley between two abandoned factories, his head tilted down not in an attempt to protect his face from the wetness of the rain but rather to try and keep himself anchored to the reality, it wasn’t that different. Each raindrop felt like a bullet grazing his skin: it reminded him that he was a human being, alive but for God knows how long. 

He didn’t have the ability of forgetting easily, but even if he did, the scar on his side reminded him every days of what he had gone through-- Of course he hadn’t been alone there and maybe that was what had been the most terrifying. The sole fact that there had been so many innocent people under the hands of the terrorists, it made an uncontrollable rage boil inside of him, ready to burst out at any moment-- Himchan hated bullies. And not only there was innocent people but also people he had worked with, people who were his colleagues and as much as he liked to say that he didn’t care at all about them, he had realized that night that a part of him had been scared of losing someone he had spent time with or even talked with within the agency. 

A gun shot rang in the air. Right, the mission. Himchan lifted his head up and dragged a hand through his wet hair and the hint of a smirk appeared on his otherwise blank face. It was time to play. His fingers tightened briefly around the gun he was holding in his hand and he straightened up his shoulders before he came out of his hiding place and shot mindlessly at everything and everyone that seemed to be a threat. There was something strangely...thrilling about being able to choose whether a person dies or lives but Himchan didn’t linger on this idea more than he should have done and instead focused his mind on the adrenaline rush that filled up his body, a sort of frenzy that didn’t have him thinking straight and take unnecessary risks, like, right now, when he threw his gun aside and ran straight towards one of the men who had been shooting at him. He had been enjoying physical fights more than usual, lately.

But Himchan had just reached the man when this one fell dead at his feet, a bullet straight through the head. A scoff left his lips as he was found staring at eyes wide opened and pieces of shattered skull and brain littering the concrete. Right, her. He turned around towards the position of his partner; of course he knew where she had been hiding all this time, he just didn’t care much about what she’d be doing while he was having fun. 

“What the fuck are you doing?! He was for me!”

Heechul smirked as he checked himself in the mirror, probably for the nth time that evening. He looked good, well he always looked good if one were to ask him, but especially in the clothes he put on tonight. After all he did take his missions very serious, especially if it allowed him to go to a club. He knew it did mean that he couldn’t drink that much as he usually would, after all they did need the information from the target. But it didn’t mean he couldn’t have a little bit of fun while he was at it.

It did however depend quite a bit on his partner that was assigned to him. Because it wouldn’t have been the first time he had a strung up partner. One that was like a statue for the whole evening except when they talked to their target. It had been one hell of an evening.  

After the finishing touches to his hair he went over to the club. Outside the club he moved to stand next to the entrance. At least it seemed like the best way to meet his partner and move into the club together. Because looking for someone in a club was an almost impossible job to do especially if you barely knew the person. “Come on sweetheart before we actually miss our target and he disappears inside the club,” Heechul mumbled as he looked at his watch growing impatient.

Flopping down on her bed, Jinah let out a groan as she stared up at the ceiling. She was at her parents’ house that day, making her daily visit since the Masquerade event to check up on them and make sure they were okay. Outside of being knocked out with various cuts and bruises from the chaos, both her mother and father were okay; Jinah made a mental note to thank Soohyuk for his efforts that night. 

With the New Year only a day away, she needed to unwind after the events that occurred these past few weeks. As she stayed under the covers, she reached for her phone, humming a tune as she swiped her thumb over the screen. She wanted to check up on the other agent she recently joined forces with, and with New Year’s coming, she wouldn’t mind being around people for now.

kyuhyun is prowling the ballroom, attempting to find his elusive date. how hard was it to find jinah? there were only several people at the masquerade who had dared to try and pull of the colour white and so far jinah was the only one rocking it. heck that had been a very pricey dress.

he thinks better of trying to find his elusive partner when he passes by the bar for the third time that night and thinks that he deserves a drink. one for putting up with this bullshit and dealing with his parents gushing about his new partner.

he’s about to order his usual from the bartender when he notices a small discrepancy towards his left, just a little further off from the bar. 

it’s a woman attempting to bat off the advances of a much larger man. kyuhyun doesn’t hesitate, striding over and pulling the other man from the lady.

“it clearly shows she’s saying fuck off, so why don’t you do just that. fuck off and go after someone your own size” kyuhyun smiles, his eyes hinting at violence if the man doesn’t follow his suggestion
