Brokeback Mountain (2005) Directed by Ang Lee
Letās move!Ā
brokeback mountain is butch4butch cultureĀ
āCAW, CAW!ā A HUGE BLACK CROW CIRCLED ABOVE ME IN THE AIR AND LANDED on a rock nearby. we looked at each other in silence.Ā ācrow, are you a boy or a girl?āĀ ācaw, caw!ā // i laughed and rolled over onto my back. the sky was crayon blue. i pretended i was lying on the cotton white clouds. the earth was damp against my back. the sun was hot, the breeze cool. i felt happy. NATURE HELD ME CLOSE AND SEEMED TO FIND NO FAULT WITH ME.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā the gay ass butch lesbian steve trevor we all deserved, written by brogan
DAY 01.Ā Ā in your fandom.Ā / / /Ā @spyiedā +Ā @freegodā + @dirtypaw
because pluto is an oc, i decided to choose characters i could see either being in plutoās world or pluto being in their world.
SPYIED.Ā listen, i can and will find any reason to go on about how talented and visceral and beautiful broganās writing is. i am forever hung up on their imagery and metaphors. brogan is able to put such purpose into their portrayal of steve. the things most wonāt touch. like sexuality and gender and gender norms. in such a brash, unapologetic yet intimate and real way. and i think this is because brogan is so good at writing things authentically, as they are, without trying to shoehorn in how she wants you to feel about it. even when she is doing just that, it doesnt feel that way. it feels fresh and self evocative. brogan is able to write with such strong, unshakeable themes that you canāt just not ignore you donāt want to ignore. my bud, my babe, i am⦠your biggest fan.
FREEGOD.Ā i love god stories!!!! and i love their dionysus! i love how simultaneously scary and messy and impish and wild they are. they are⦠such a wild card hoot and i love seeing what theyāre up to. a fantastic, enthralling portrayal of dio.
DIRTYPAW.Ā noel!!! i love your wolfy boy. and i??? love? everything he says? so much? he has such funny and/or witty and/or sarcastic lines and i enjoy reading all of them so much. like, you nail dialogue. i love for your dialogue. i love him chattin with others b/c itās always⦠so good.
Gender Troubles: The Butches
If the word for you is butch, then remember this word. It will be used against you. If the word for you is butch, remember, your history is one of strength and survival, and it is largely silent. Do not hide this word under your tongue. Do not whisper it or sweep it under the basement stairs. Let it fill up your chest and widen your shoulders. Wear it like a sleeve tattoo, like a medal of valour.

āMarriageā?
are you ever just so glad that you can shitpost on the internet instead of trying to work this lesbian gender shit out in the 1920sĀ
itās 7:30am and i haventĀ slept and imĀ fucked up about steveĀ not having a community because sheās so undercover and sheās so transient and the fact chief and the boys are her family, but theyāre not gnc and theyreĀ not butch and im fucked up over steve being so isolated and then, the remarkable trust in diana in the bath bit in the film in this context ?
Whoever you are, you are in more danger than you think.
@herdsheep does it again !!!!!!!!!!
can i just say ?
big fuckin mood
Whoever you are, you are in more danger than you think.
herdsheep.
Pansy dips her chin over her shoulder, smiling back at Steve.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āDarling, Iām confident of everything I do. Arenāt you?ā
Arenāt you? She bobs her shoulder to that, her white-wooly-wisps shoulder. She floats ahead of themāPluto and Steveāa dream bubble with hoofs. With two dreamers tugboating along.
The thirty-three sheep and Trilogy stream behind Pluto like sea foam, like brought-in brought-out brought-in after thoughts.
Pluto elbows Steve. Entirely content,
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āNow you have done it, Steve. You are coal to her ego. She will sooner have us walk off a cliff before admitting she does not know the way.ā
it seems natural āā as natural as their rippling journey and all of its jostles and bumps āā to respond to plutoās elbow with an arm thrown around their shoulder. her hand is lax, limp, wide, hanging off the cliff edge theyāreĀ all happily trotting towards.Ā
āiām sure weāre not so easily led,ā steveĀ saysĀ and is immediately swayed by two wiry sheep bumping against her thighs.
sapphirescales.
Ā Ā Ā ā oh. isnāt that an image? on his knees, his face turned into her thigh, the way his mouth would shape the word pleaseĀ and ā raven takes a sip of her scotch, and feels it burn all the way down.Ā āno one said anything about being on your knees. is that where you prefer to be?āĀ her smile is charming and inviting, but the edge of her teeth is dangerous under the right light.Ā
steve watches the knifeās edge of her smile and grins herself. not as barbed, not as naturally, compellingly, dangerously sharp as the femme fataleĀ āā instead, a liquid, molten creature, designed for the contrast.Ā āwell,ā she says, grin twitching before she gulps another mouthful with a shrug,Ā āwhen you have a talent.āĀ
she laughs at herself without laughing, grin wide, and steps off the stool, elbow on the bar. tall and an inch closer than she should be.Ā āare you staying decidedly nameless?ā
If ever you wanted to know how I heal, drink the dusk. Burn a ritual on your tongue. Bleed into a lover.
Leave your shadow everywhere you think the light could find it.
