THE CRUSADES
Have we all forgotten about the fucking crusades.
1. ISIS is a dissenting group that has political and religious views that uses force. It is not a government entity or an entire country.
2. The crusades were a coalition between many people as well as political support from various royal families who could afford to go to Jerusalem. Even though the idea of a sovereign state wasn’t really a thing yet, essentially an entire CONTINENT went to war for religious principles.
Just saying.

I wish everyone would read this. Not only because it’s one of the best non-fiction books I’ve read, but because it shows how events led up to WWII while people looked the other way or made excuses for their politicians.
.” ‘REPUBLICAN MILITARY VETERAN Slams Conservatives On House Floor For Being Heartless Towards #Refugees’ | @AddInfoOrg”- The Knowledge You Crave
@AddInfoOrg
I saw someone on my Facebook newsfeed post this picture. (Let’s pretend they’re smart enough to spell the word “actions” correctly.)
Here’s my problem with this.
First of all, and I can’t stress this point enough, LIBERALS DO NOT WANT TO TAKE YOUR GUNS AWAY, YOU FUCKING DUMBASSES. If you even had AN OUNCE of common sense, or if you turned off Fox News long enough to read news from actual credible sources, you’d know that. Tighter gun regulations won’t even affect most current gun owners anyway. We just don’t want criminals or crazy people having easy access to guns.
Second of all, how many people have Syrian refugees killed? How many people have been killed by guns? Let’s explore that, shall we?
Since 9/11, the U.S. has taken in almost 785,000 Syrian refugees. Only 3 of them have been arrested on terrorism charges. THREE. Since 2001.
Meanwhile, over 11,000 people have been killed by guns THIS YEAR ALONE.
Conservatives like to ignore facts. They want to make sure all white Christian males are attended to, while treating everyone else like shit. Republicans seriously make me sick and I hate that so many people I know associate themselves with them.
I would put my life before a family of Syrian Refugees.
Ok with the following question I am NOT trying to make a statement or point, I’m just genuinely curious and can’t remember: A lot of people who are for inviting refugees into the states are sharing posts about how Jesus and Mary and Joseph were refugees fleeing persecution, which like I think is a good thing to share because it shows how hypocritical most Christians are but anyway my question - were Jesus & family fleeing persecution? I thought Mary and Joseph were traveling because there was a census or something and they had to be in the city to be a part of it and just couldn’t find an inn that wasn’t full to stay in so lil baby Jesus had to be born in a barn. I just realized that they could be talking about a different part in the bible though, I don’t know why I singularly associate it with the Christmas story…
You are correct. It was a routine census that had them travel to Bethlehem. However when they did get there they had to sleep in a barn not an inn cuz there was no space. I can't remember 100%, but in pretty sure it had to do with an honest lack of space. They were too late probably due to slow travel because Mary was very pregnant also they were poor.
However, later in the story, King Herod was pissed when he found out that the messiah was born, specifically because he was told that it could threaten his power. So he demanded that all boys under the age of 2 or 3 to be murdered. So Mary and Joseph and their now young toddler had to flee Bethlehem quickly to avoid Jesus's murder.
I hope this helps.
I mean really, a Middle Eastern couple seeking shelter, in every church and home…
Yeah it’s a little mean but… “Conservatives be flip flopping with this refugee issue #republicanssuck #funnyvine”
If trump wins the irony will be American refugees rejected by other countries..
Can’t belive he is actually being thought of as good for the job.. mr. excess is the king of conservatives.. how fucking stupid can people be FOR FUX SAKE.
Saw this on Facebook today.
Never forget… I mean, unless we’re faced with the exact same moment we faced at the beginning of WWII and have an opportunity to show we learned from history.
Me, giving the side-eye to all the assholes who hold up WWII as a shining moment in American history but are saying we should close our borders to the Syrian refugees (via katedanley)
